  1. http://35thstreetmess.blogspot.com/ Brooks Boyer has said there was going to be a "big announcement" in the coming weeks. Nothing has been made official, but it looks like it is about more stadium renovations, specifically a homer porch in left field, that will also contain the kids FUNdamentals activities.
  2. Doing you one better During the month of May --- JB - .356 7HR 22RBI .740SLG in 18 games JR - .267 2HR 9 RBI .411OBP in 24 games
  3. Carlos plays left field, has no arm, and had not a prayer of throwing out the runner at home -- He should have thrown into second, but he wasn't going to throw him out either -- Carlos got straight up clowned by the homeplate ump today in his first to AB's on 0-1 pitches -- One was just over his shoetops, and called for strike two, the other was at least a foot outside and also called for strike two -- If any hitter has to protect a plate that is 48inches wide and extends to just above the shoes, they are going to have a tough night. He did a good job just to fight off pitches and prolong the AB's in his first three trips -- Once he got rid of Kenny he was able to get to almanzar in the 8th.
  4. 2nd inning 4rd inning 6th inning 8th inning 16 pitches -- 7 swings -- 1 foul ball 1 bad night :headshake
  5. I believe he was referring to Jose difficulties in the field also.
  6. Chuck knoblach(sp?) beaned kieth olberman's mother in the head while she was sitting in the stands while trying to throw to first from second.
  7. You're going to be right JD -- Neal is headed back to the pen. -- Rauch worked out of the BP today in Charlotte, and should be called up to pitch on Saturday. -- Wunch has said himself that he was getting hitters out with junk. Junk doesn't really cut it at the major league level.
  8. I would have copied and pasted, but then you miss out on all of the great stats that it's linked to like VORP.
  9. 12 hits + 1 BB + 1HBP -1 HR = 13 baserunners 17 LOB? I think not

  11. I can't really say -- All I can say is that I fell that in the rare occurance that he does wear a sox uniform this season, it won't be for long. I just believe that he would have already gotten the shot if KW didn't have something else in the works.
  12. It's about time these things got back to starting at a reasonable time -- I remember when they would get started around the first pitch.
  13. What's rauch throw? -- About 5 innings -- about a HR a game What's his Velocity? -- Not what it used to be I don't expect him to be around this organization passed the trade deadline. And this is coming from someone who thought he would make the rotation before ST.
  14. Absolutely -- Though an even better stat for starters is just RA -- Screw that ERA bulls***. As a pitcher it is your job to keep runs from scoring. Period. A pitcher that prevents runs from scoring in general is more valuable than one who is just good at keeping his ERA numbers looking nice. There are inaccuracies that occur when factoring in errors, Home scorekeepers et al. sure there are times when a defence, or lack thereof, costs a pitcher in the RA category, but that just puts more emphasis on the ability of a pitcher to get hitters out without the need of the defense(i.e. strikeout) I also think that if a pitcher makes an error, and then there is an "Unearned run" that it should still count against the ERA -- After all, it was the pitchers fault the run scored.
  15. -------------- Also -- It's Neal.
  16. I see it as an asset -- There's no way that all of these prospect make the major leagues -- and there's even less chance that they make the ML with the sox. While not quite as valuab;e as SP's if you have enough of them stockpiled, some of them become expendable to pick up on of your other needs.

  18. I've got the same injury as him -- My shoulder like to pop out if I take a bad golf swing -- He can't check swing, the force pulls his shoulder out of socket -- In My experiece, once you've weakened the surrounding muscles it becomes easier to pop out the shoulder, and less painfull. -- The key to preventing it without surgery, is wrest first, then a conditioning program that will help get the area around the shoulder stranger. -- I was recomended surgery, but without health insurance and my inherant fear of doctors, I declined -- My shoulder has popped out probably 15+ times in the 8 years since it happened.. It's nothing you can't deal with, and something that, inthe future I may look to fix. But for right now, I can lead a perfectly normal life without the surgery. Ritchie can't -- He'll go under the knife.
  19. I was going to say the same thing as SS2k456789 -- Hockey is much more fun to watch with more open ice... The NBA is terrible though -- College Basketball>NBA International Hockey>NHL
  20. That's him -- I miss his tub O' goo threads.
  21. http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?showuser=101 He knows where we are -- He has more posts than you.
