  1. Freddy throwing 88 in the post season? Sing me up!
  2. Krivsky's kollection of middle relievers kontinues. Reds trade for Shoeneweis
  3. QUOTE(whitesox61382 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) Collaro - there is no reason why this guy should be on the list. He shouldn't even be on a top 50 list. Come on guys. Have you seen his numbers at AA this season. They are sickening. Sure he has some power potential, but he has never hit for average and has struck out at an alarming rate at every stop. Guys like him have almost no chance of sticking in the big leagues. A guy like Lopez is ten times more likely to make it in the majors then Collaro. I personally think it is a mistake to have him on the list, especially ahead of most of the guys listed above that aren't on the list. I think you guys put way too much emphasize on power, and not enough on the ability to make contact, plate disipline, or the ability to hit for average. Preach on.
  4. I think the scripts for this show are written in ALL CAPS!
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) This is a bigger issue then is made of it, IMO. If you pay for it, you should get it, PERIOD. The WCIU issue will be cleared up for next season, so says Selig. The FOX issue isn't changing anytime soon, however.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) And that's why some of these moves might actually get them into the postseason. That doesn't make them good moves. Krivsky's trades are the playing cards tucked under the soles of the Reds' shoes in the NL's tallest midget contest.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) The Guardado deal was a great low risk, high reward trade. I can't believe some people actually thought Majewski was going to be a great fit with that team at that park. I still can't believe they gave up Lopez/Kearns. Yeah, and it's not like they needed Kearns anyways, what with the Hollandsworth acquisition and all. The Reds would have been lucky to keep pace with the Indians if they were in the AL central. The NL is a horses*** league
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) Article says she is 19 but her profile says 21. I'm sure we can believe anything we see on Myspace. On second thought, Myspace is about as reputable as the NY Post.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) The Reds have made like 30 moves. I really hope they make the playoffs with all the work they've done. And none of them were for anything more than mediocre talent.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) You guys can debate about whetehr she is hot or not. One thing is for sure, those pictures tell me that she is EXACTLY the type of chick a married man should stay at least 200 feet away from. Well yeah. Pretty much by definition, 19 year olds should be off-limits. Relationships with 19-year olds who you meet in the VIP section of a club never end well.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) Anyone have a link to her myspace page? she took it down. If we knew her screenname we could find a google cache of it though
  12. What's there to speculate? That photo needed some FLAVA!
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) If no further rotation shuffling is done, we're facing him August 18th -- Game 1 of a three-game set. Garza's first start is against Toronto this Saturday. I didn't look at their schedule, but this probably isn't right. Garza is essentially taking the place of the 5th starter, with Matt Smith being demoted to make room. He'll get the start Friday, I think, with the Twins delaying their decision on Liriano and who will ultimately replace him.
  14. I'm glad to see Rice getting some starts. He had some dominating numbers out of the pen, and he's not at all old for the league. So it seemed silly for him to be sitting on the sidelines while the only starter who was doing anything at Kanny was Cortes. I assume the Sox see him as a future BP arm because of his stature, but he should be used as a starter for as long as possible at the minor league level.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Hey, good news is that Blackhawk Hockey is right around the corner. Yes, look on the bright side, nothing can be worse than Blackhawks hockey.
  16. Mark Buehrle is 9-10 Don't tell me how many you win, tell me when you win 'em
  17. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) I liked it better when KW was concerned with winning NOW How are you supposed to win now when 4/5ths of the rotation has ERAs around 5?
  18. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) what a meltdown by Buehrle. I thought he had more to him than that. A balk? The guy has melted down every single game a team laid a bunt down successfully against him this year. The only thing surprise was that it didn't take a bunt that inning.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) Is it bad that I can't tell who some people are? Some of them are people who you shouldn't be able to recognize.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) I think Fields could put up better than 4 extra base hits in 62 ABs and have an OPS higher than .550. I really admire the way Anderson is hitting now, because he looked like a little leaguer the first two months of this season. Fields will K a lot, but he does have some pop in his bat. He had 5 extra base hits in 90 July ABs in Charlotte, striking out 28 times. He is/would-be very hit and miss. He has a better shot than Brain did of being a dangerous hitter immediately upon call-up, but he also figures to struggle as bad, if not, worse than Brian did. And this is all moot because Crede is in the line-up tonight.
  21. Fields would be more of a disaster than Mackowiak/Cintron at 3B.
  22. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) Chris Young is the guy that dropped out of winter ball? If so, it's his fault he's not in a White Sox uni. That would be Jerry Owens AND Charlie Haeger, both of whom are still with the Sox.
