  1. If Lynn goes Thursday, I'm good with it. The OP post stated single series (see below), your example is over two series.
  2. The fact of the matter is Tony would have fell asleep far earlier in the game, the hacks he would have started (everyday Leury, Big Energy, Grandal at DH, etc.) would have all gone 0-4, there would have been no pinch hitters, no life in the team, and no comeback, just like the first five months.
  3. No, I agree about Himes being the architect, and if course Jerry had to get rid of Larry first chance he had because organizations win championships, and he is the organization. Just concurring she deserves a fair shake in Miami or elsewhere if she leaves, and she is far more qualified than Hahn or most other candidates when she was finally offered a GM job, albeit at one of the few organizations / ownership groups across The MLB possibly as bad or even worse than the Sox.
  4. There are few people on Earth less qualified to continue working than Tony, but this worthless crony hack is one of them.
  5. Tony claimed each year he meets with the players and if they don’t want him back, he doesn’t return. Cut to the chase and players must tell Tony don’t return now, motherfucker, when they see him tonight or tomorrow.
  6. “Liam and me, we’re going to f*** you up.”
  7. My father's family fled Franco's Spain in the early 40s to Havana. My father fled Cuba in the early 60s, became a citizen after serving in the Navy (pre-Nam). Still have family there, but waiting for a long overdue regime change first.
  8. Cool, I'll have to check it out next time I head down to Great Central Brewing / Goose Island Fulton / Kaiser Tiger.
  9. Where is the sub sandwich in your picture from? Looks really good right now. Bob-o-rino's on Central and Newport is my GOAT (Heroes across from Lane was good when it was open), the only place I still eat lunchmeat from (Turkey and Ham). Had my third I believe this year a couple days ago.
  10. Tony always loved cheating, and not just the Balco. You can ask Blackjack for the deets. Tony still prefers small ball as does their hitting coach, Frank Menechino.
  11. Chicks dig the long ball. Tony longs for small ball. Home Runs hit while managing White Sox Baseball (2020-2022) 3.00 Miguel Cairo 2021 (6 HRs / 2 Games August 12 & 31) 1.90 Miguel Cairo 2022 (19 HRs / 10 Games (August 30 - September 9) 1.60 Ricky Renteria 2020 (96 HRs / 60 Games) 1.15 Tony La Russa 2021 (184 HRs / 160 Games) 0.80 Tony La Russa 2022 (101 HRs / 127 Games)
  12. If they sowed Ted Williams’ frozen head onto Moncada’s body and played with Yoan’s batting gloves, he’d hit .500 and average 80 HRs playing at the Sox home park.
  13. Back in the day, most of the nation followed the Kentucky Derby and the World Series, even if they didn’t follow the sport. As late as the 1980s, baseball drew 41M viewers in 1981, and averaged around 35M over the 1980s. Population has grown over 90 million over the past four decades, just over 40%. Meanwhile, World Series viewers have dropped about 70% over the same period, to 9.8M in 2020 (with Los Angeles), and 11.7M last year (3% of the population). The Cubs (2016) and Red Cubs (2004) novelties were the only two WS over the past two decades to draw over 20M viewers, snd viewership has been in steady decline over each decade. The MLB fans left still watch their local team during the season, but by and large pass on National televised games, including the watered down playoffs and World Series.
  14. I’m not watching or following any playoffs period, regardless if the Sox make it. Only followed this regular season (and previous regular seasons) because of Rotisserie Baseball, which I’m retiring from after playing most seasons since 1985. 2005 and 2020 were the only two years I was vested in the postseason (2020 just the Sox series) since 1993. Last year, I did watch several innings of the Houston vs. Sox Series, but wasn’t upset Dusty pwned Tony’s ass. Didn’t bother watching 2000 or 2008, the latter more so because I was busy at the time. Most baseball fans still enjoy the regular season baseball without dealing with the farcical playoffs. TV ratings show most Americans do not give a rats ass about the sham 10–12 team postseason, despite solid regular season attendance at non tanking teams and television engagement locally throughout the season. Should have quit following the day to day of MLB last year before the lockout. Will take some time off, may consider following again down the road after the three assholes are gone (JR, TLR, RH). I’ll at least consider attending Sox games again beyond free tickets depending on the new owners.
  15. He’s a HOFer, he’s legit, brother. I figure he meets Dave Stewart for dinner Saturday night, attends his ceremony the next day, and then flies back with the team to resume managing on Tuesday. Can also see him waiting until Friday, to avoid two extra trips in three days (Colorado & Cleveland makeup game).
  16. If there is wagering on Tony's return to the team, this is my selection: Phoenix PHX to San Francisco SFO Sep 10 Saturday, September 10 7:15 am to 9:21 am Nonstop Arrival airport is near OAK Duration: 2h 6m 2 hours 6 minutes Travelers: 1 Anthony La Russa Jr. Flight Number: UA 1530 Aircraft type: Airbus A319
  17. Home Runs hit while managing White Sox Baseball (2020-2022) 3.00 Miguel Cairo 2021 (6 HRs / 2 Games August 12 & 31) 1.90 Miguel Cairo 2022 (19 HRs / 10 Games (August 30-9/8 6th Inning) 1.60 Ricky Renteria 2020 (96 HRs / 60 Games) 1.15 Tony La Russa 2021 (184 HRs / 160 Games) 0.80 Tony La Russa 2022 (101 HRs / 127 Games) Chicks, Sox Players and Fans Dig The Long Ball! Tony is lucky he had Balco in Oakland & Saint Louis.
