I said August 9 there was a good chance 78-80 wins takes this division. It looks even better today than when I said it, I'm bumping up the Sox chances with Tony hopefully gone the remainder of the season. If he returns, I expect the record laid out below to suffer. Miguel's main challenge is to avoid the forever worthless / sabotaging Rick Hahn the remaining four weeks to create the best lineups possible. If Hahn continues to meddle like he did last night demanding Joe Kelly start the game and immediately put the Sox in a 2-0 deficit. This was the same exact pathetic bullshit he pulled in the losing Game 3 in Oakland in 2020. Rick Hahn is far worse than Tony La Russa, and needs to stay out of White Sox business beyond sabotaging and destroying their 26 and 40 man rosters. Thankfully he by and large can't ruin the roster further until the playoffs begin. The nine games between Cleveland and Kansas City, and the eight games between Minnesota and Cleveland are the keys to the division. The Sox can sneak in there if they can somehow beat Cleveland and Minnesota better than the 6-6 laid out below, and the Cleveland Kansas City / Minnesota series end up in a wash or slight Cleveland deficit. Anaheim has a 4-0 and 2-1 advantage over Cleveland and Minnesota, respectively, so the Sox need them to continue to show up in their final two series. Perhaps San Diego will be resting when the Sox visit the final week, which will help as well. Current expectations, with Plesac and Civale likely out the season. Cleveland 82 Wins: 1-1 Seattle; 4-5 Kansas City; 4-4 Minnesota; 1-2 vs. Anaheim; 2-2 Chicago; 1-2 @ Texas; 1-2 vs. Tampa Bay White Sox 81 Wins: 4-4 Minnesota; 1-2 @ Seattle; 2-2 @ Oakland; 1-1 vs. Colorado; 2-2 Cleveland; 4-2 Detroit; 1-2 San Diego Minnesota 80 Wins: 4-4 Chicago; 1-3 @ New York A. L.; 4-4 Cleveland; 2-4 Kansas City; 1-2 vs. Anaheim; 1-2 @ Detroit. -

I didn't watch or listen to a game until Wednesday after Tony was gone. Followed games in the game thread and via gameday. They sucked me back in with Tony gone, now I'm back listening (no cable to watch). -

We need a moderator to open the 9/3 game thread, because the Sox are fiddin' to open a can of whoop-ass on these assclowns tomorrow. -

He also played a key role in the first keeping it a two run ballgame with that first out. Could have been a 3-4 + run lead -

The MLB will continue to count White Sox results on Tony's managerial record, since he is away on a temporary basis. If he permanently resigns or is fired, than games following that action would begin counting for the manager in place at the time. In terms of the lineups, Miguel stated he is consulting with Tony before each game. It was also reported Rick Hahn came up with the idea to have Joe Kelly open tonight. @Lip Man 1 - I couldn't find anything on Twitter. Did the coward Rick Hahn ever meet with the media today, or was he too busy setting up the White Sox to fail tonight with his Joe Kelly opener strategery? -

You would think the 77 year old would have the sense of urgency. Then again, perhaps Miguel can run with it and parley it to a managerial job here or elsewhere. I have confidence now that Cleveland lost 40% of their starting staff, and Minnesota is managed by Rocco Baldelli. With Tony away, Mike Matheny, the guy Tony mentored, is the only worse manager in baseball right now. -

Kenny Williams needs to put Rick Hahn's training wheels away and ban him from the dugout and any discussion regarding lineups and starters / openers. Glad the Sox were able to overcome all of that BS and win in the ugliest win I can recall since 1983. Tony, take a three month leave of absence. Rick, take a three month vacation. Miguel and White Sox Players, Lets Fucking Go!!! -
