  1. Josh Harrison’s last solid season was in 2017. Pollock is 34, has a bad arm, and played less than a dozen games in RF. What woukd make Rick Hahn think it was a position he could play? Kelly’s contract stated he couldn’t pitch in consecutive games over the first three months of the season. What other GM would take on that “gamble”, let alone for a second season at $2M more? This wasn’t supposed to be a tanking team trying to fill out three key positions with mid 30s guys on their final contracts.
  2. Hahn is not qualified to make managerial decisions, even for an organization as pathetic as the White Sox. He needs to be fired immediately, if not sooner.
  3. Looks like it's Yoan or bust at 3B this September.
  4. I didn't realize Rick Hahn was at the ballpark two days ago. So why is Andrew Vaughn hearing about Tony La Russa via twitter, and why are White Sox hearing about Tony La Russa from Andrew Vaughn and Kendall Graveman and not Rick Hahn?
  5. Sounds like Ryan didn't go through with the surgery. The Tampa Bay Rays signed Ryan Burr three days ago. He would post-season eligible for the Rays if promoted. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/rays-ryan-burr-agree-to-minor-league-deal.html
  6. Nice for those among the 17,168 of the announced attendance who went to the park tonight. Lynn is giving some optimism for being an asset in 2023. Team seemed settled down and focused after what had to be a wild day yesterday. Glad they are working through this together, seeing that the Front Office is not there to support the team or even speak on behalf of the organization.
  7. Leury remains the 40th ranked White Sox on the 40 man roster.
  8. Fact: Bruno Mars is three years older than Elvis Andrus. Second Fact: Jose Abreu is awesome, and should be back if he wants to be.
  9. This is the first game I've listened to this season. Not sure where Len is, but glad the Sox are playing well. The bases are loaded after that bunt, let's break it open here!
  10. I believe a $30M "offer" covering this and next season would be pro-rated for 2022, so about $18M total.
  11. At least Tony was man enough to report to work every single day, as difficult as it may have been for a 77 year old man. Tony did his best, even if he wasn't good enough, and worked with the team to the best of his abilities. Regardless of how bad he came off at times, it's hard to argue he didn't care about his players. Hahn is such a pathetic failure as a human being and faux leader. Couldn't handle Adam LaRoche and his 13 year old child. Can't handle mean tweets and legitimate criticism of his horrible performance without throwing a hissy fit. Can't man up and meet with the media this homestand. Declines to meet with the team face to face (or hold a video meeting if he is out of town) to speak with them directly seemingly for a second straight day after Tony's health incident. Tony should be able to take his time before announcing his future intentions. However, if Jerry Reinsdorf had any respect for the players who give their all and the fans and taxpayers who made him a billionaire, assuming Rick doesn't have a legitimate reason why he hasn't spoke with the team (health of a family member, or another emergency calling him away from the team and area that prevented him from speaking with the team either yesterday or pre-game today), Jerry should fire Rick Hahn immediately. meet with the team directly to speak with them to explain he and others in the organization have their backs and work to support the team.
  12. https://www.tiktok.com/@esenachoman/video/6937119843044969734?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1 There is a difference between people in their 70s-90s living an active life, vs. working a taxing job a dozen hours a day for several months, including living on the road and packing / unpacking every three days.
  13. Nothing Rick Hahn does, or doesn't do, surprises me. He has never been held accountable for anything, and never will be with the White Sox.
  14. Hawk Harrelson loved the White Sox more than Tony and Jerry (or any other two humans excluding perhaps Jose Abreu) combined. If Hawk can step away and enjoy life, they should be able to as well.
  15. Checks Leury's OBP, .237. Leury lead off four times this season, has a .143 OBP in those games (.286 OPS). Hitters are placed on 10 day ILs, He pinch ran Saturday, so likely not until the weekend at the earliest, unless a diagnosis changes. At least Playoff win worthy, if not a World Series Game.
  16. Tony provided an update yesterday while battling his health issues. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/white-sox-luis-robert-still-out-grandal-be-activated-wednesday No his fault the cowardly GM failed to meet with the media at the start of this homestand.
  17. Tony got treated at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona for his shingles episode with the Cardinals. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/la-russa-rejoins-cards-after-shingles-absence
  18. I don't believe that has happened before (a manager on a team inactive but not replaced skipping the playoffs). I do know Tony continued accumulating wins when he was away with the shingles as Cardinals manager. Tito also accumulated wins while away from the Guardians in 2005, 2017, most of the 2020 owner lockout season, and the final two months of 2021. https://www.baseball-reference.com/managers/francte01.shtml Unless your resign or are fired, you accumulate wins-losses while away from the team. The White Sox officially replaced Ozzie Guillen with Don Cooper, which is why he has a 1-1 record as MLB Manager for the final two games of 2011. If Ozzie was away sick or whatever, he would have those two games credited to his record.
  19. This is how this should go down on October 6, 2022.
  20. As long as he is alive, and quite possibly even after he passes, he can continue accumulating MLB wins until a permanent replacement is named. I believe Shelley Duncan called dibs on the managerial spot, but he'll be OK letting Tony harvest wins as long as he's getting paid. It's not like he'll get another job in baseball after this runs its course.
  21. Abreu is 30th in fWAR, and he's penalized in that statistic for being a 1B. He is not the problem with the Sox, and he should be back at a reasonable contract if he wants to continue playing. This wouldn't be a "Konerko deal". Paul was already a non productive player (.669 OPS, -1.5 fWAR) when they gave him his final 2014 contract. There is no comparison between the two situations.
