  1. Have to laugh looking at the negative trade values on the current Sox team. Of the five players with a value over negative $1M (all over $5M), three of the five were Hahn's acquisitions this offseason. Consistent with driving a new car off the lot and immediately losing significant value. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/teams/467/ Pollock ($7M) Grandal ($6.7M) Kelly ($6.1M) Leury Garcia ($5.8M) Bummer ($5.1M)
  2. I thought it was a good shot at the time, and even though he couldn't hit in the smallish sample of 42 games, I would have rather the Sox kept him on a similar deal he signed with Detroit ($1.75M) than what they ended up signing (Eaton). He would be a huge upgrade both offensively and defensively, over Sheets this season.
  3. Hope everything is OK with you Tray. Found these on MLB Trade Values: https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/players/8571/ The Oakland trade looks both reasonable and interesting (Eloy & Crochet for Montas) among the four trades listed if the Sox are going for it this and next season.
  4. Earl Weaver >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Small ball La Russa (Strong Language - Listener discretion is advised)
  5. If they can get an everyday RF, possibly a 4/5 starter or 1 bullpen arm or 2, they would have the personnel to make a solid run (14 - 16 wins) over the next three weeks. Need to go 4-1 this week to ensure this could be a possibility depending on revenue projections. Would peg them at 11-8 without significant help, 14-5 with 2+ significant acquisitions.
  6. Angels would be competing for championships, NBA Championships where one or two stars can carry a team. In baseball, you need lots of quality depth to ride out the inevitable injuries, expected up and down player swings from their career norms. Their farm system and interference by the Owner has been as bad as the Sox, hence they have been as bad as the Sox.
  7. Grandal was only able to catch one game over the four game series, and 19 innings during his 12 game minor league rehab assignment. He's started 31 of the 96 games the Sox played this season (caught in parts of 4 more). There is no evidence Grandal can start at catcher on even the split just under 50% basis he covered the position during his first two seasons (108 appearances at catcher over 222 games). It's not the top priority, but they need an adequate starting catcher once they are able to field a contending team.
  8. Add infield defensive specialist to Billy Hamilton's resume. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/marlins-vs-pirates/2022/07/23/662436#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=662436 Second base - Check Third base - Check After further review, Billy Hamilton is still awesome. https://www.mlb.com/news/billy-hamilton-miguel-rojas-sacrifice-health-in-marlins-win
  9. We haven’t heard from Kenny in several years, since he took the training wheels off of little Rick’s bicycle.
  10. Or JFK, FDR, and Woodrow / “Edith”. That just covers the past eighteen.
  11. New Chicago Hockey Team Ad: “Hey, we got Rapists and Racists over here.” There is at least one lying sack of shit involved that is still around. The jackass going off for nearly 80 seconds.
  12. Supporting the master plan is perhaps the one reason Jerry would fire Tony.
  13. He is a DH/1B, not an OF. He is 30 years old, and has 20 OF starts in his career. Naquin is not a good RF, but he is lightyears ahead of the RFers Hahn and Tony have played the past two seasons. He is an OK stop gap for two months, but the team really needs a legitimate starting RF and 2B if they want to do more than pretending to compete in 2023.
  14. I don’t think Kenny has much to do with the day to day baseball decisions, likely just big picture organization oversight and acting as the occasional sounding board for big decisions.
  15. That was the case beyond framing when you signed him. It’s a sunk cost, that connect factor into carrying three catchers among 13 position players.
  16. You’re calling for higher health standards than the country has held the two most recent POTUS.
  17. If TLR had any functioning brain cells, he would do the complete opposite of every single decision he has made since his October 26, 2020 It worked well for Costanza.
  18. Any explanation why Yasmani is not able to catch every other day? Or is this just “much needed rest” after taking eight plate appearances yesterday. If it’s the former, than in some universe two of four bench spots for catchers make sense. If the later, than GTFO and GFY Hahn and Tony.
  19. Top Three October 2022 or 2020 Managerial Candidates: Joe Espada, A.J. Hinch (has a contract out?); Bruce Bochy Top Three Current Managers (Baby Boomer / Silent Generation): Terry Francona, Buck Showalter, Bob Melvin Top Three Current Managers (Generation X): A. J. Hinch, Kevin Cash, Dave Roberts Top three managers in my lifetime (Division Era): Earl Weaver, Davey Johnson, Sparky Anderson Top three managers (Pre-Division Era); John McGraw, Joe McCarthy, Casey Stengel
  20. Kenny's on his final contract (does it end this year or next?). Kenny would be there to help transition the next person, but wouldn't be "The Guy" or making any big or little picture decisions. Think Jerry would be more comfortable with this. If Jerry is gone, than yeah, Kenny leaves as well unless the OUTSIDE new hire wants him to stay on to help with the initial transition.
  21. We still have over a decade plus of this journey to endure. Connie Mack 3,731 Tony La Russa 2,868
  22. You're going to have to wait for the Jerry Reinsdorf scoreboard tribute video release before any of the necessary steps to "fix this" can occur,
