I still don't understand this rule. How does a catcher perform a bang bang force out at home if he can't have his foot even on the back of the plate?!

Question: if the catcher is not allowed to have his foot on home plate as they said, how can the catcher get a force at home? Imagine bases loaded and a high chopper to short and a bang bang play for the force at home. That makes nooooo sense

Conspiracy theory time: during grandal's at bat he fouled one off that shot straight down off the catchers leg and made direct impact on the pitch com, which you then saw go flying off into the dirt. Wonder if this broke it or made it malfunction which caused the cross up there at the end
