And being as light as possible seems a no brainer as a goal for a big man. While a good guy, Eloy seems immature, and somehow insulated against positive suggestions watching his career. I would be surprised if he wasn’t just fat and arrogant instead of overtrained on the wrong program.

Along the lines of massive weight loss however, what made Eloy think he can play 25-30 lbs overweight? Inquiring minds want to know how you can hope compete for an outfielder job like that? A real organization is trading off mental weakness from the roster. It should not take your job getting populated by outsourced talent before you look into the mirror and self evaluate how your career is going.

I don’t know enough about Romy’s abilities in the outfield at this time, but Colas seems way more suited by virtue of what Colas was doing last season.

If there has to be change, change the definition of game to 13 innings, whatever, and deal with ties in the standings. Just do it. Changing the competition itself is very disturbing.

Good question. Baseball culture is probably different than regular culture. I guess Clevinger has mixed results as a teammate. But your comment is well aimed at management for carelessly shooting Pedro in the foot if improving culture was going to be Pedro’s rollout.

Well, the pitching is funky for sure. If they were gonna pull a rabbit out of the hat, there would be a raw young arm(s) in the minors unproven, ready to pop up. There’s nobody like that down there. With normal attrition, the defense could suffer, and the catching is weird. The lineup is nothing special, and shallow. They aren’t high IQ little things/small ball players either. They won’t be a surprise contender because you cant even roll out plausible scenarios .
