Are we being too hard on Grif?
Well it just seems like he was hired to be the Sox’ Eberflus, holding the bag for a real manager that comes along to coach the real roster. If ever there is such a thing on the SS. The Grifol era may be here for awhile. Ron isn’t completely off his meds. Why would the Sox ever fire a guy hired to take all the incoming.

New $15 Campfire milkshake leads MLB food debuts
Bourbon in a milkshake? Worse than graham crackers.

Graham crackers suck. Don’t be building a milkshake with graham crackers!

Cease To Padres per Passan
since we've been going with the power pitching prospect without very much success for quite awhile, it might actually be time for a change up with a change.

Yup. Now we go from meh, to concerned

Cease To Padres per Passan
Something tells me they may have given up Thorpe because he was throwing that reported 88 mph. Otherwise, maybe the name is different.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Sure. The Sox definitely moved quickly on this as soon as Cease showed some performance though. If the deal was lacking, and it kinda is, if they had confidence Cease was gonna be there in July, they probably would have waited. They way they jumped on this suggests they viewed it as too much of a gamble?

Cease To Padres per Passan
Oh dear. The excitement for the deal hinges on Zavala having CF upside totally for me.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Well, if Cease was throwing harder in ST more in line with his past, I would be less ok with this. As such, teams reasonably could hold back on the offers given the amount of risk they are accepting. Not that he wasn’t still ramping it up. No idea.

Someone should ask CG that question

Cease To Padres per Passan
OTOH, if equivalent prospects like Moncada and Kopech were in the return, we would have been thrilled. You never know I guess. Sorry, just trying to cope.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Risk management. Holding out as long as possible into the season if necessary could increase the returns. But how sure were the White Sox themselves which Cease this is. Maybe get while the getting is (good enough)
