Sox hire Carlos Rodriguez for Assistant GM role

That can’t be the basic rules. But it is a quantum theory outcome that by definition does exist. -

Getz was a Trojan Horse of basic competence. We were bamboozled. But this should be easy. Just copy Ryan Poles’s plan, but don’t copy any of his work until last year. -

Should have gone in house with a guy who already knows the franchise for a quicker turnaround! -

Font size intended as a Rorschach test. Either as a post of the absurd, or we are on the way to supplying the majors with surplus talent 🤤 -

Since the hire of Brian Bannister and the start of the Chris Getz era, the White Sox have sought to become a development juggernaut and have had some early examples of success https://southsideshowdown.com/the-unknown-white-sox-pitching-prospect-primed-for-a-breakout-season-in-2026 -

I read somewhere that with the new hirings starting with Getz, the Sox intend to be a talent and minor league development titan of some note. That was music. -
White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Chick Mercedes replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unless the Sox are an American League juggernaut already by the time Ishbia takes over and there’s no need, gotta figure he makes a big splash in free agency at least once right away. -

If I’m Ishbia, I’m wanting a cleared deck and a clean slate as much as possible before I take over the spending. Maybe we will see modesty as the plan out of deference to the agreement -

Carlson can’t play second? Or maybe they just keep Meidroth and trade Carlson. -

Yah. Jerry is smaaaht. -
Every time I suspend my disbelief that the Sox aren’t changing fundamentally, being informed of things like that little comment bring me back to earth a little. Japan is not some vast untapped resource of talent, just that it’s especially the Sox that need to be invested more in scouting foreign prospects historically. This is not a scandal or anything. I hadn’t actually thought about this before to be completely honest. And I do have hope that the Sox will be more efficient and effective with their resources than before after their most recent FO changes. But true change to me is in doing things first class in the first place.

The Sox are a year more likely two away from intelligently looking to spend money importing a talent at any position unless it’s franchise cornerstone type. Trust the process for now. Just like the Bulls. The Bears have just arrived at this stage of potential progress, and being a salary capped team, they boned themselves by spending prematurely. The Sox should just chill for now. We’re picking at the top of the draft for crying out loud.

JAGs like Vargas, all you need to ask is what can I get for him if he’s in demand. Keeping him or not keeping him is not really a big concern either way. The Sox are in transition. I’m not projecting him in any future lineup on purpose.

“Patient minds”. Jerry loves it. If that’s how you want to fan, great. Everyone fans different. The impatient minds amongst fans and media are what makes underperformance in FOs sweat their underperformances however. Which seems a reasonable environment to foster for a major city professional sports franchise.

Don’t worry, Cholowsky incoming 😎

I would argue that being an organization with the capability to draft, develop and sign all stars would have been the turnaround we are looking for. In light of our inherent handicaps and hardships, we hopefully make plan B a relative success as much we can.

White Sox acquire LHP Chris Murphy from BOS

“The transaction underscores where each franchise stands — the White Sox aim to find upside through cost-controlled arms while the Red Sox continue positioning for immediate contention. Both clubs addressed key needs in a quiet yet notable November exchange“ -

26. Ronny Hernandez, C Ronny Hernandez put himself on the map in 2022 while playing in the Dominican Summer League, posting a 136 wRC+ with six home runs and a 15% walk rate, with his strikeout rate being only slightly higher at 17.5%. While his numbers haven’t quite been that gaudy, he has still solidified himself as the second-best catching prospect in the system, behind only Edgar Quero. Hernandez has gotten his first taste of full-season ball, spending the entire season with the Low-A Kannapolis Cannonballers. During that time, he has held a respectable batting average while showing elite plate discipline, holding a walk rate that is higher than his strikeout rate. While he has some raw power in his bat, he hasn’t been able to tap into it much since he came stateside. If he can start to put the ball over the fence a bit more, he could skyrocket up rankings Ronny Hernandez, C Strong showings in both of the White Sox complex leagues allowed Ronny Hernandez to receive some credibility as a legitimate catching prospect for the White Sox, earning a promotion to Low-A Kannapolis for the 2024 season. He continued to show off a similar skillset of making solid contact and good decisions at the plate, although there was very little power production to speak of. Behind the plate, he works well with the pitching staff but still has some room to grow with his actions. Hernandez was in our top 30 last season and would have remained in prior to the Garrett Crochet. If he can develop a bit more power while showing off the same advanced approach at the plate in High-A Winston Salem this year, he could very well earn a spot back on the list by midseason. -
The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf

Satisfied may not be the right word. But they are compromising, and have low standards for their dollar/approval. -
