  1. Pearls of baseball business wisdom. Backed by accomplishments. Yes , Jerry milks money from the White Sox. That, he indeed understands
  2. His lack of self awareness and hypocrisy was astonishing.
  3. I wasn’t talking about last season at the deadline. By the way, you don’t have to post replies to people like a next level jerk.
  4. They should have traded him really while they had the chance. That would never happen in Chicago though. Jerry has sacred cows aplenty. Basically every veteran player is a sacred cow. Unless I guess that one time. In band camp.
  5. A mid first round pick that gets to the show and has any MLB career is an exception. That was pretty weak draft IIRC. There weren’t high expectations for Jake Burger. Injuries taking a guy out is a side category to me.
  6. That’s the good news. There is a bullpen manager alchemist out there that can fix this.
  7. You can take Tony off the team, but you can't get the Tony out.
  8. I think there is a lack of peer pressure setting good culture example. Which is of course, the responsibility of the organization to aquire the right people in the clubhouse. We hoped Pedro could artificially make thgings happpen along those lines. But he has to be backed up by a GM ready to make changes. Gas Can Kuechel flamed out, but early on he identified a problem on this team. The organization is static and sentimental.
  9. If JR had a sense of humor, they would let him throw out the first pitch in one of these games soon. Would diffise some of the tension, and be somewhat disarming. But JR does not.
  10. Jerry is great at humanity in the office. And he has garnered support from some because of that. He has no business owning professional sports teams that are required to build an organization that can focus sustained excellence on the field, and on the court.
  11. The White Sox have never won a playoff series outside of 2005. Which was basically just a good team that caught a heater.
  12. Stoney needs to offer a mea culpa. He was wrong, and critical fans have been right.
  13. It would be an upset if he didn’t.
  14. I thought the same tbh. But as previously mentioned, they were studying these players for a little awhile now, failing to achieve. There should have been more insight into this team’s potential than the FO have shown the acumen to react to. Maybe some of these names should have been gone by now. I don’t think they are sharp baseball people, and they tend to be sentimental. All Reinsdorf teams in both sports have that tendency.
  15. I don’t see Jerry signing up for any more tanking, if any changes are made like that. I think the young team stuff is something JR has no stamina to endure any longer. But the real problem is mismanagement, not the approach. This team has been bad now for about 2 full years very soon. They ran this team back for whatever reasons. Fell in love, ran out of money, who can say. But this is the depth of their baseball expertise, running back a bad team, expecting different results.
  16. I quit the team once after the Tatis deal. I have always been a guy that loves the prospect watching, and was constantly praying for an emphasis on the farm system and scouting pipeline to be embraced as the key. Bought back in when Sale, Eaton and Quintana were dealt. It seemed like the Sox finally wanted to be a regular team instead of the weird kid that thinks he is smarter than the rest of the class. Little did I know that this was a one time adventure for Jerry. Jerry is gonna be done with the experiment with normality very soon.
  17. This is where this franchise makes a stupid and futile gesture to desperately try and stay relevant. Well, maybe the farm system is so bad they won’t have an opportunity.
