  1. Can’t this guy just chill instead of trying so hard?
  2. That’s cause he’s a doofus
  3. What do we have here Canseco and McGuire?
  4. If he had the green light to spend on top of the tanking phase where the MiLB rosters were reworked on up into the MLB one, things could look a lot different for him.
  5. -Yes, a flexor strain (particularly in the forearm flexor-pronator mass) is often associated with UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) injuries and can serve as a precursor or warning sign for potential Tommy John surgery, though it’s not a guaranteed direct cause. drahmadsportsmedicine.com Key Connections • Anatomical and functional link: The flexor-pronator muscles (e.g., flexor carpi ulnaris, flexor digitorum superficialis, pronator teres) attach near the UCL on the medial elbow and act as dynamic stabilizers. They help absorb valgus (outward) stress during throwing. When these muscles are strained or weakened, more stress shifts to the UCL, increasing injury risk. imhurtnowwhat.io • Strong statistical association in baseball pitchers (the most common group for Tommy John surgery): • One study of MLB pitchers found that ~19-20% who sustained a forearm muscle strain required Tommy John surgery within 1 year. drahmadsportsmedicine.com • Flexor-pronator (FF) injuries are significantly associated with concomitant UCL injuries in throwing athletes. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov • Combined injuries are common on MRI, especially with distal UCL tears. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov • Clinical implications: A flexor strain often prompts close evaluation of the UCL. Symptoms can overlap (medial elbow pain), but a true UCL tear (or high-grade sprain) is more likely to involve a “pop,” instability, and loss of velocity, while flexor strains may feel more like muscle soreness or tightness. Weak or fatigued flexors increase UCL load. ijspt.scholasticahq.com Not Always a Direct Precursor • Many flexor strains heal with rest, physical therapy, and strengthening without UCL damage or surgery. • However, they signal potential overload, especially if pitchers return too soon or have poor mechanics, high pitch volume, or velocity demands. • In some cases (e.g., older players), combined flexor-pronator + UCL injuries can lead to worse outcomes even after surgery. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov Prevention and Management Strengthening the flexor-pronator group, monitoring workload, addressing mechanics, and allowing full recovery from strains can help protect the UCL and reduce surgery risk. blog.armcare.com Bottom line: A flexor strain is a red flag—especially in overhead throwers—that warrants UCL assessment. It doesn’t always lead to Tommy John surgery, but the data shows a clear elevated risk if not managed properly. Consult a sports medicine specialist or orthopedic surgeon (ideally one experienced with throwing athletes) for imaging and personalized advice
  6. Grade, incomplete. They tanked. We will see soon how good he did.
  7. I never really watched college baseball. The *ping* of the bat is completely uninspiring 🤣
  8. Kelenic is “Can’t Get Right”
  9. I would too, but Kelenic is always pretty awkward to watch. See him stealing bases last week? Lol barrel rolling over second bas bag
  10. That’s why he signed here imo. The fix was always in. He could have been better down there, but he’s enough of a veteran to get a shot regardless. Failed veteran nonetheless. Especially with guys like Acuna “blocking”
  11. I’m gathering the actual scenario would be that the Sox really begin to heat up on Emerson first as a player, not as a discount.
  12. I never know why people react so emotionally when a reporter passes on to the readers something someone said to them. A GM near the top of the draft told Bob that he believes his team has a shot at Roch. That’s not 100% nonsense by definition. At most, 99%
  13. What was it from Nightengale’s information that is not worthy to report? If I’m a reporter sitting on information, #1, that’s gatekeeping, and #2 my editor is asking why I work here.
  14. Maybe not. But it would be weird to bring up the unproven guy that has worse numbers than Zavala. If he does have worse numbers. Maybe I should stop being lazy and google lol
  15. I don’t know his numbers, but Kelenic has gotten off the mat. But his problems are perhaps now from competing with Zavala?
  16. OTOH, the return for Robert was perhaps something to ease the pressure on Getz’ reputation. If the best offer was the Acuna centered offer, Getz deserves some more sympathy for the task than he has gotten. Given the Reinsdorfian parameters of spending
  17. Watching HS highlights are not super interesting. Nobody even bothers posting them. But they’re out there fwiw. Revisiting all the conventional wisdom that the Sox should be concerned about talent and team building windows for Roch to fit into, I sure hope we still aren’t that loser organization that would weight that over perhaps better available talent theoretically.
  18. Roch will likely maintain his grip on being the safe choice with the highest floor. But there is much to learn about a couple other choices in terms of floors. If anything is learned along those lines to make this choice less clear, we shall see. The last thing we should want is for the Sox to make their choice in April. Pretty good news actually if someone is indicating they have not.
  19. It’s like buying stocks. If you’re not making me money, I’m turning on you.
  20. Soxtalk is not the only hate repository for Schriffen?
  21. If Mune has 23 HR and 57 RBI at the trade deadline……
  22. There’s nowhere to go but up.
