They decided they needed to clear a roster spot for Middleton rather than just call up German/Alexy/Padilla. Why keep those guys if they aren't worth calling up?

Santos going down doesn't clear a 40 man roster spot. Has to be someone getting DFA. Most likely Diekman, but possibly someone like German.

Why were these guys not on the OD roster? Burger provides more value than Sheets, and Alberto/Romy are somewhat redundant. Banks is clearly a better option than Diekman.

(Excluding 0-0) the Sox have already been .500 three times this season. How many times will it happen in 2023?

I disagree. With RISP, especially bases loaded, pitchers tend to throw more pitches down and/or out of the zone and that exploits this team's weaknesses in swinging at too many bad pitches and hitting too many grounders.

That sounds exactly like the kind of guy who should be batting 6th-7th If you can convince TA to give up the leadoff spot, Yoan-TA-10D works fine. TA's high contact/low walk rate profiles better at #2 anyway.
