I like Benetti's schtick, but then my parents have subjected me to an overload of late 80s/early 90s music/movies/pop culture so I get pretty much all of his references.
Sure, but the best teams have the ability to win some 7-6 games on nights your pitching isn't good. Sox have yet to win a game when allowing > 4 runs, and if that doesn't change, this will be at best a wild card team with an early playoff exit.
That umpire was clearly baiting MadBum into doing something. There really needs to be some accountability for umpire behavior. Checking his hands for that long and staring right at his head instead of looking at his hands while doing it is uncalled for.
I'm generally a pro-union guy but this umpires union needs to be put in their place.
The medical staff knew it would be longer. They waited this long to tell anybody so they woudn't call up Mendick or some other AAA player that Tony would overuse until Vaughn is back.
This Sunday's game will be on NBC broadcast in addition to Peacock, so you don't have to have a Peacock subscription to watch the Sox until August 21 at Cleveland. Peacock subscriptions are free with an Xfinity cable package.
Will be weird having Jason be a "neutral announcer" for a national game.
Really dumb question:
I know the official scorer can review plays to change a hit to an error and vice versa. Is Robert's catch that was ruled to have hit the ground something that can be reviewed?
