  1. I projected Burr being back from the IL and Severino, Sousa and Crick going.
  2. Trying to project the May 2 roster. Don't think the Sox use a 14th pitcher right away. Nobody really worth keeping SP: Giolito, Cease, Kopech, Velasquez, Keuchel RP: Hendriks, Bummer, Graveman, Banks, Foster, Ruiz, Lopez, Burr C : Grandal, McGuire IF: Abreu, Harrison, Anderson, Burger, Garcia, Mendick OF: Vaughn, Robert, Pollock, Engel, Sheets IL returns: Moncada replaces Mendick Kelly replaces Burger. Lynn replaces Burr If Cueto is worth calling up, he replaces Foster or Velasquez After May 30, Burger replaces Foster, Velasquez, or possibly a DFA Keuchel if he doesn't get better. Whenever Eloy returns he replaces Burger. Of course this all assumes no further IL usage which is incredibly unlikely.
  3. My friend paid full price for our tickets. I just checked StubHub and there are seats in Sec 117 Row 2 for $17 each. Even with fees that's probably < $30/seat.
  4. I'm sure we will hear again tonight how he as the same birthday as Joe Crede, as if we forgot the last 10+ years he told us.
  5. Haseley down instead of Robert to IL is a good sign.
  6. I don't think Lambert is an option. If either of VV or Keuchel could just get through 3 innings allowing < 2 runs, that would be valuable. Maybe run them out there each one time through the lineup and then turn it over to the bullpen.
  7. 1980 fWAR leaders: Britt Burns 4.5 Chet Lemon 3.9 Steve Trout 3.2 Jim Morrison 2.4
  8. Change the banner to the four best players from the team the day before JR bought it and leave it that way until he's no longer the owner.
  9. Yeah, if TA really wants to push this, it's gonna look really bad for MLB if they uphold that suspension.
  10. Pretty much sums up why earth may be inhabitable in a couple hundred years.
  11. I thought China was a bunch of hours ahead of the US, not behind.
  12. I am going to my first game since 2019. I had sworn I would not give them my money until TLR was gone but it's my best friend's birthday so I'm going for him. Of course it's during a 7 game losing streak, Keuchel pitching, and it's cold.
  13. Please vote. If you chose option 1, please explain why you chose the wrong option.
  14. Winding your way down on 35th Street Light in your head and dead on your feet Well, another crazy day You'll drink the night away And forget about ev'rything This baseball team makes you feel so old It's got so many fans, but you've got no soul And it's taken you so long To find out you were wrong When you thought you knew everything You used to think that it was so easy You used to say that it was so easy But you're dryin', you're dryin' out Another year and then we'd be happy Just one more year and then we'd be happy But you're fired, you're fired now (sax solo)
  15. Haven't been to a game since 2019, but my experience was that on a Saturday with a high profile opponent (which the Angels are with Ohtani) you need to be in line before the gates open to get a promo item.
  16. I don't know how much this has been discussed, but one of the biggest problems seems to be TLR's insistence on playing platoon advantages that don't exist and alternating L/R in the order. Leury was worse vs RHP in 2021 than all of these RH hitters: Robert, Anderson, Jimenez, Abreu, Engel, Burger. He was better than Vaughn but that was Vaughn's rookie year and I don't think anybody expects Vaughn to be worse than Leury vs RHP this year. There's no platoon advantage with Leury, and most definitely not one that justifies moving him up in the order to break up a string of RH hitters. Also, with the 3 batter rule for relievers, it's much less important to alternate your LH/RH bats in a lineup. On top off all of that, while they guys on the team may like Leury, they're probably all very aware that he's not a top of the order bat and that has to be bad for morale to see these lineups.
  17. I don't understand why something like this lasts more than 1-2 appearances. Is there not someone on staff who watches video of the pitchers to try and detect stuff like this and bring it to the pitching/bullpen coach's attention?
  18. I was going for Angel Hernandez level of precision.
