Gotta love what the starters have done.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:25 AM) Andrew, I think everyone realizes it. That's why everyone has been so despondent and apathetic so far this season, along with our atrocious minor league system that offers no quick remedies, with the possible exception of Viciedo. That's why it's babysteps. We have no alternative if we want to keep following the team than to hope for baby steps. Most of us are dying for the team to inch back and be relevant at some point.

QUOTE (Andrew @ May 10, 2011 -> 05:09 AM) Unfortunately, that's probably exactly what the Sox will do. P.S. - Juan still sux. There's really nothing else they can do, tho, unless they make Edwin the closer or trade Mark. Royals fans will tell you that Humber is ready to start sucking soon anyway.
-
Juan whiffs but it's meaningless at 8-0. Cmon Levi homer again.
-
This is unpopular because i love the job Humber (sp?) has done, but he's going to have to go to the bullpen until Peavy gets hurt again. If Humber can kick ass in that middle relief role that can only help the team. We still need relievers with some of the guys horses***.
-
Will the Sox have to pitch real relievers tonight or the fake ones?

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:59 AM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81466 Oh I realize what I've said about the Sox players. Bashed them big time. I never said Beckham should be sent down. I was simply flaming him for his horrific role in the slump of all slumps.

whats the link for the chatroom
-
Not flaming anybody but that's why Beckham couldn't be sent down. Too much talent. I guess we have to accept most of our hitters are streaky bad and good.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:52 AM) This might be the EASY part of our schedule this month. We still have to play Texas, Cleveland, the Dodgers, then AT TEXAS, AT TORONTO and AT BOSTON. Don't think anyone needs to be reminded of of how poorly we've played at those last three venues in recent history. If we're .500 at the end of MAY, I think everyone in baseball will be amazed. I'm sick of looking ahead. I just want the guys to follow the boring cliche and play them one at a time and make my MLB subscription worthwhile like tonight.

Nice bomb by CQ. Hopefully we can have a tidy conclusion to the game. Whatever, nice bomb, CQ.

QUOTE (Real @ May 10, 2011 -> 03:47 AM) relax, they're still 14-22 if they win tonight keep things in perspective (and maybe you are, and if so, that's good), until this team gets to .500 and goes on a TEAR, their wins are more/less meaningless flame away! No need for me to flame. I just wonder about how crazy it is that Beckham and Lexi can look so clueless at times, then when they are stroking it like tonight, they seem like stars. I realize that's the nature of baseball though.
-
Way to stroke the double, Dunn.
-
Sometimes Lexi and Beckham both make it look so damn easy. Don't understand baseball and how guys get into those horrific slumps.
-
Lexi reaches the seats. Nice HR.
-
Pretty damn impressive DP, Edwin and the boys.
-
Suck it up, Jackson. Got to get through six.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 10, 2011 -> 03:23 AM) Has any other team won more than 3 games in the last 3 days? While at the games this weekend, I saw us doing the little things which make a difference and this team is jelling now better than it has at anytime this year. It's time for all the naysayers to start believing once again and dump your big bowl of doomsday in the garbage can. Me thinks you are jumping the gun a bit. This game isn't over by any stretch.

I read an article on yahoo that our economy may be f***ed forever. The middle class jobs are disappearing. It is all upper upper class or low paying jobs. The middle paying jobs are all turning into low paying jobs because of company cuts and people "lucky to just have a job." Concerns? Do you all know of any families that have had to move out of their houses into tiny apartments? How are people with 3-4 kids paying the bills?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) If it were the easy, it would have been done long ago. I think it'd be pretty easy to have gunmen storm the stadium/arenas during several minutes after halftime of a basketball or football game. Maybe they have eye in the sky people watching but I doubt it. I've been to a lot of pro and college football and basketball games and the minimum wage security people don't seem like they have a clue.

QUOTE (Tex @ May 9, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) Also playing the field will help Paulie. My vote that yes he would get in is depended, in a fairly large way, in the voters rewarding the clean guys. The voters, who don't think anybody is deserving, will not reward the clean guys and penalize the steroid guys. That way nobody gets in. And with pitchers not threatening the 300 win mark in the future, no pitchers will get in, either.

QUOTE (ptatc @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:45 AM) Everyone on the team would laugh at him. Guys who are on the DL and aren't playing are ignored especially one who has been out as long as he has. It's the "big talk from a guy who hasn't helped us" mentality. Once he si pitching for thebig club it will change though. I did think about that before posting what I did. I guess big leaguers are too cool to get fired up in the dugout.

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 7, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) Sean Miller is headed to Maryland. HUGE blow to Arizona That would have been a weird move after just 2 years at Arizona. Only way I figured it would happen if by some chance it was true his wife utterly detests the desert. U of A is stacked with incoming talent. Miller has to be a hero there after the Elite Eight run and all this talent coming in. No need to leave. Wife's allergies must be treatable after all. -
Best out of three series now. Atlanta would have taken that before start of series. Bulls have to kick ass at home leading off this best of 3.

Is Sarah Palin a serious presidential nominee? I think she is scary bad.
