  1. There is accountability, sure. But we're not the best team. It hurts. It sucks. But look at our team. We aint good enough.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 04:16 AM) The lengths you go to in order to deflect criticism away from Guillen amazes me. Sure, we'll remember the great 30 game stretch. Doesn't mean we can't also remember how one single personnel decision by Ozzie had a huge impact on the AL Central this season. That's probably the 4th or 5th game that Thome has single-handedly won for the Twins since the ASB. Next thing you know, you'll probably say that it wasn't Ozzie's decision. I remember people so happy saying no matter what that made the season. Look, you have no way of telling whether Big Jim woulda been this good for us. Oz wanted Kotsay/Jones, fine. Blame him. KW needs to make the personnel decisions; he didn't. Big deal. The pitching has been inconsistent as well. IT AINT OUR YEAR. It ain't Oz's fault. It just ain't. I thought after we won it all we'd dominate our division our least and make the playoffs A LOT. It ain't happened. s*** happens. Life baseball wise sure can suck. Aint.Oz's.Fault.
  3. The 25-5 run was sensational, but a huge tease. I also remember reading that people said "whatever happens I'll remember the 25-5." Well, stand by your words, cause this team wasn't good enough.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 04:04 AM) Haha, the nightmare that this season has turned into is illustrated in this Twins game. GREAT CALL OZZIE...it's just too damn you won't be held accountable for such a terrible decision. Like half of Soxtalk didn't want to get rid of Thome. Get real. It's not Ozzie. It's just NOT OUR SEASON again. If you can sleep better blaming a great manager like Ozzie, more power to ya.
  5. The season may not be over by any stretch, but we just might lose 2 of 3 at home to KC as alleged contenders. Somebody said Harrell is pitching Sunday. On paper that is not so good.
  6. Sad story on WGN news tonight; cop shot twice. It could be worse; baseball isn't life and death.
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:08 AM) Face it the Sox pitching staff has been a paper tiger. Jackson was due for a bad start. JR needs to think things over. Mediocrity is getting expensive (common among all Chicago teams). A lot of money has been thrown around to finish in 2nd place. Put those $$$ in scouting. That's true, Kite. I wish I lived in Chicago and could get season tix one year and see how I'd feel about the product goin to all the home games. We are mediocre.
  8. I'll take a Cincy-Minnesota World Series. That would be cool. Assuming we are not capable of making it of course. It ain't ovah til it's ovah is the saying.
  9. Then what are the Sox options at catcher if AJ is gone?
  10. QUOTE (11and1 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:00 AM) Lack of talent is one thing but lack of desire is another. The entire organization should be ashamed, outraged and embarrassed by tonight's pathetic loss to an even more pathetic opponent(they've owned us all season). If they're not willing to try I'm not willing to support them with my money and especially my time. I've been saying it's not over until we're mathematically eliminated, but I was assuming the team still had some interest in winning. We need to put most of this team on craigslist this winter. They say effort is that night's starting pitching and clutch hitting. Edwin stunk and we didn't produce down 4-1 with AJ and Kotsuck pop ups. I think the team tries; it just sucks on given nights.
  11. Can Castro and Flowers handle the spot next year? Split duty?
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 02:55 AM) The Twins don't have to add a lot of talent. Give them a healthy Nathan/Morneau and that right there makes them the prohibitive favorites in the Central. And if they sweep us this week they are 13-5 against us this year with a much better team coming next year. Nice.
  13. Yeah Konerko gave the fans something to applaud tonight. Kotsay... maybe Oz and KW just like seeing his wife around the clubhouse and team outings.
  14. AJ's last 2 at bats were great. Uh but the one that counted was a pop up. Yuk.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 02:43 AM) It's going to be a difficult offseason. We don't have a lot of money to play with, yet the Twins and Tigers do. Also, some big decisions on some of our favorite Sox players including Konerko, AJP, and one of our starting pitchers. Knowing the way things have gone, we'll lose Konerko, bring back Garcia and AJP, and replace Konerko with a washed-up member of the 2001 AL All-star team. Hopefully the best news of the offseason is Hahn takes over as GM and Ozzie leaves. This organization needs a fresh start, and Cooper/Walker can go with Ozzie. I'm not crazy about Pena, either. That's a scary post that I'm quoting. We can't afford the Twins to add a lot of talent. I'd rather go young and take our lumps than trot Omar and Juan out there again. Teahen truly is buzzkill. Our starting staff for the past two years has supposed to have been AMAZING. It's been OK but not amazing. We gots work to do.
  16. Is this our most depressing home loss of the season? In a supposed pennant race?
  17. Yeah but even our pitching doesn't do well in divisional play.
  18. Can we all agree the White Sox aren't built to beat teams in their own division? Sox need to work on that for the future. I can't believe it's just a couple weeks from the offseason again. This was one of the most annoying seasons in my Sox fandom for some reason.
  19. What good football games are on? I saw Kansas beat Ga. Tech 28-25 today in person. Not a bad game.
  20. This game may not be ovah, but this game tonight is EMBARRASSING so far.
  21. So Harrell's pitching Sunday and we could lose 2 of 3 to these guys at home in a supposed pennant race? My god.
