Sox vs Cubs 6-25 game thread 3:05 first pitch
Nice single by Paulie. Do you agree Paulie's homer yesterday was one of the most impressive blasts of his career? It was a bomb. Ozzie threw up his hands in the dugout. It was a high arching cannon blast.

Wonder if Rios is nice and refreshed after the day off. Nice move by the manager?

Rios attacked that ball. Nice.

Zambrano's pitches are screaming, "Hit me."

Weak at bat by Omar. I wish Beckham could hit. Then he'd be in the No. 2 hole.

And I repeat that if you are burying him for one possible game in the standings then lets go through the entire roster and see how many games a certain player has blown. If you guys want perfect players, more power to you. You'll win the argument every time if you are looking for perfection.

So Sqwert, basically you want the closer to be perfect. Bobby's not perfect, so yes, you guys win the argument. But it's an insane standard to live up to.

Who should start at 3B/2B for the near future?
Great line by Les Grobstein (sp?) on the Score last night. Viciedo may be 26 years old for all we know. Now it's obvious why he was brought up. He's not 21. He's old and he's ready. Play him.

Many don't care if it works. They think it's dumb, then it's dumb. Also I see no response on the fact Bobby has pitched in a whopping 3 tie games. Thanks for looking that one up. Again, the perception is he sucks, so he sucks. Bobby rocks. Kotsay sucks but he's on the roster. I happen to think Jones sucks as well, but they are both gonna play. Jenksy Cat had the line of year here shutting up the Bobby haters: "Yeah those 3 tie games he's pitched (1 left in a tie, 2 left down) in surely will decide the season." Cat is my idol!

Today's lineup
Didn't your mama teach you to never say never? Absolutes are absolutely wrong.

Beckham needs to be sent down
Yeah, Oz's reaction on Paulie's home run wasn't that of a man who LOVES winning and sweeping, was it? It was priceless, thrusting his arms in the air. We've done a good job of sweeping teams lately. Maybe Rios needs a refresher in this stretch. How the hell do we know how Rios is feeling? I still say there's a method to Oz's madness. Kotsay and Jones are on the roster. They have to play some days. And Lilly subbed today. It's not like Gordon's bat was missed.

I think he should receive serious all star consideration with Rios and Paulie, but it'll just be Rios IMO.

What was wrong with today's lineup? I assume Lilly was the guy who angered you today. Beckham hasn't exactly resembled Joe Morgan in his prime. Oz's handling of Rios has been pretty good. Give the guy a rest once in a while. Someday the White Sox will field a perfect team every day and please everybody.

I said he's not a great option in tie games. Bobby Jenks is a great great closer and I feel you people are nuts for nit picking. My god.

Jordan, you don't like his save percentage?

Bulls***. Horses***. Last night I posted several times I think Bob's track record in tie games makes it to where I think Oz is wrong using him in tie games unless he's the only one left not named Randy. Kalapse pointed out a great closer has to work well in tie games. We discussed that. I never said Bobby was perfect. Bobby is f***ing good, though, and he is getting very very little love on this board. My opinion is it is people can't admit they are wrong. I am glad I admit I am wrong all the time.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I guess it's a bad lineup any day Rios sits or Kotsay plays. Kotsay got two hits. Or maybe it was Lilly playing that bothered many. Well it's not like Beckham has been hitting either. Or maybe Jones' presence. I thought there was a lot of remaining love for Jones on here. Great pitching. Great homer by Paulie. Great win! Be happy.

True, Chet, but I log on and have to read about Jenks not being good in tie games before some will give the guy praise. Sox fans take for granted excellent performances, but when we lose or Jenks blows a game ... BAM they will bury him. Praise the guy, people. Praise him!!! And this team is doing so well. Amazing job by Oz and the players or I should say the players and Oz as the players are the producers, but he has done a fine job as well.

Recently? Are you f***ing kidding me? People's hatred of Jenks is borderline insane!! He is a f***ing stud and was again today. People on this board cannot admit they were WRONG I guess. I admit I'm wrong all the time. I can't believe I log on and there's more Jenks hate going on after ANOTHER WIN and another dominant save. Jenks rocks!!!!!!!!!!!! When he dominates like today why can't EVERYBODY just enjoy it and praise his big f***ing ass????

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Yeah and that's why those who kept saying it was early and we were still in it, deserve credit. The team was so bad for so long. Hopefully the pitching keeps this up cause our lineup still isn't too dandy.

Who should start at 3B/2B for the near future?
I like this one right now. I can't believe I'd ever want Omar in our lineup heading into this season. I wouldn't mind Viciedo at third and Omar/Beckham combo at second. I think it'd be dumb to kill the mojo right now and change anything drastically til we lose 2 in a row. The team turned it around; maybe Beckham finally will. I wouldn't be upset though, if Beckham got sent down, except for the superstitious part of changing a good thing.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Great win. I forget which of you were preaching during our worst times of April and May that the season wasn't over and we might still turn it around, but I congratulate you. You should remind us who you were with your most positive post(s). I know there were at least 2 of you maybe 3-4-5. I just couldn't see it. It was easy to disagree/mock you upon reading them at that time. No matter what happens the rest of the way, I'm going to try to temper my bitterness/anger because I never ever thought this team could get its s*** together after playing so badly for week atter week. -- Can CQ be getting hot?? Would be very nice. Great job tonight by him. -- I guess if the team immediately goes in the tank after returning to AL competition it might be easy to rip the team again, but my god, great job White Sox in rolling the past couple weeks. Wow.

You definitely fooled me here. That was a long statement that I was hooked by. As far as tie games, I just think Jenks has sucked in enough of those that there is a pattern and on those nights I might first go with Putz or Thornton. But if that is vital that closers do that some nights, then yes Oz will have to trot Bobby out in tie games again.
-
Sox vs Atlanta 6-23 game thread 7:05 first pitch, CSN
I think he has proven he's not real good in tie games or with a huge huge lead. If Oz was smart he'd skip the tie game thing with Bobby unless he has no choice.

Sox vs Atlanta 6-23 game thread 7:05 first pitch, CSN
What baffles me is you guys who want a new closer, act like the new closer will stand the test of time rather than one or two outings. Jenks has been doing a fine job in the role this season and several past seasons. You folks act like Putz will just blow through inning after inning, night after night. He won't. All closers all baserunners on occasion; all closers give up runs on occasion (except for Texas'). All closers BLOW SAVES on occasions. Put Putz out there for a full month and I guarantee you he'll blow as many or more saves than Jenks. That you can't realize that confounds me.
