  1. Hey, the manager might be a Bobby fan. It would be awesome. The man has been money.
  2. Baseball is one crazy, great game. I'd never have thought the Sox would wake up and win 10 in a row. Never thought the Twins would play so bad against NL teams for an extended stretch. Love this game. Keep the winning, going! Special kudos today to ... CQ: Wow. Beckham Pierre and Rios: getting us off to quick start. Peavy: Dominant. Gutty. Zambrano: For having absolutely nothing on his pitches and imploding. That was entertaining to see how everybody reacted to it, including announcers on both teams.
  3. I liked the post. Seems to me you could check any team in baseball not hot right now and their manager would be getting put on the skillet. I have tried to say on here that you can second guess any manager in every loss and it's a cliche to do so. The key is for the manager to know the game (Ozzie knows the game; he's been in the game forever) and be passionate and cares about his players and winning. If you watch Ozzie when a guy excels (the hugs, the throwing up of the arms on Paulie's bombs) you see the passion. The nickle and dime problems some have with his lineups/in game decisions. You could b**** about any manager the same way. Thanks for the excellent post.
  4. Yeah. I'm just saying what Les Grobstein (sp) said. I'm all for Dayan no matter if he's 21 or 26. I like him. I am favor of him playing five days a week or his being sent back down.
  5. Jenksy Cat please save this stat when the Bobby naysayers (I don't think they "hate" Bobby; maybe they do though) continue to spout the tie game argument. Thanks. Bottom line: Some people want closers to be automatic and perfect for some reason. Don't understand it in a game when so many other players fail (hitters than make outs 7 of 10 times) and don't face this kind of venom. God I would love if Bobby made the all star game. That would be hilarious.
  6. I don't know if this series is his last stand. I don't know if KW would pull the trigger on that with the team winning at this great clip.
  7. Gordon gets the job done there.
  8. I didn't bring it up. Where you been? Go Sox!
  9. There are several players on this team who I feel aren't hated as much as Wise, which is unfair. Randy, Liney, Lilly all are hated some, sure, but not like Wise. The hatred for Wise is insane. He was a last man on a roster who actually contributed some things to the team, including one of the best moments in franchise history. At least one of the top 10 or 20.
  10. I stand by all my responses. And no manager in baseball would make that move for the reasons I wrote. They just wouldn't. It just doesn't happen and will never happen.
  11. Some would argue speed is a valuable tool for a sub. Also he was good on defense and he actually got some big hits for us. People forget them because they hate Wise. He's better than Lilly who is last man on this year's roster. Let's hear the Lilly hate, please.
  12. He was an OK last man on the roster. Why not hate daily on this year's last man on the roster, Lilly? Wise did not deserve the booing. Wise was a decent last man on the roster. He had speed and made the best catch you will ever see to save a perfect game.
  13. I can't believe any Sox fan would have bad feelings about Wise. He had arguably the best catch in franchise history.
  14. Pierre. I never said Wise should be a starter. But I liked Wise and did not think he deserved the booing and the shoddy treatment. I liked Wise a lot.
  15. Yeah. I despised Pierre and really hated Omar, but they have sort of won me over. Obviously we could upgrade big time.
  16. Sox can't sell out for the Cubs. Wild. Economy?
  17. Really. I did once but he fields the position and really hustles and somehow got his average to .250. Not bad.
  18. This looks good. This guy isn't throwing real hard.
  19. I can't hate Omar and Pierre. They play the game the right way. Hard.
  20. Yeah he did. Pierre has to be wondering WTF.
  21. Gordon pounced on that pitch. Quick wrists. Fast swing. Make it work, Gordon.
  22. Boy Omar hustles. He raced out of the box.
  23. That was a great bunt. f***. Nice play.
  24. Quick hands. Good elevation. That's the Gordon we love(d).
