  1. Yuk, the offense has the blahs right now.
  2. Nice to be able to discuss the wrong decision to run w/out somebody putting exclamation points and screaming that the manager is a moron, etc. Like it.
  3. How do we normally do against Dempster? He's so much better than Zambrano it's not even funny.
  4. Out by the proverbial mile. Paulie should have swung.
  5. Gotta love Rios stroking a line single and getting on base.
  6. That home run sucked. Time to get some runs and win another before we return to the AL.
  7. I remember reading that post and wondering if we could be like that Astro team? My answer was no way because this team had no offense capable of beating anybody. So at least you made some of us think. I remember at the time thinking you must be a pretty good, optimistic fan to bring up the Stros of that year.
  8. I haven't heard much of Santo. What's he like to listen to? Do Cub fans adore him? I feel sorry for him for losing his limbs because of diabetes. Is he all cocky during games? He was a heck of a player, but I guess voters thought his offensive numbers weren't good enough for HOF playing in Wrigley.
  9. If he was ordered to go home, then he should have stapled a letter on the wall saying he was out of line. He should have called all his teammates on the cell and/or texted them all before going out to eat with Oz. What a complete piece of s***. His act in the dugout was flat out scary and embarrassing. He was not just mad, he was lunatic mad. I can't believe he didn't hit Lee. He was so out of control. A guy that makes that kind of money and the stuff he had on the mound ... to act like that is simply embarrassing. If I were Lou I'd never ever let him start again. Another pitcher who gets a fat contract and simply sucks. His apology to the team should be a real long one because not often do you see something that disrespectful and ridiculous. Lee is a veteran and supposedly a class act and the third baseman has had some good years as well. Both were shots down the line that were unplayable and yet Zambrano goes off. What a dumbass.
  10. That's funny they posed with the Cup tonight with a game left in the series. What did the above quote mean? I am slow and can't understand the meaning. Great win. Freddy ... nice job again. Only four hits and we win. That's always nice. Good bullpen work again. Great bullpen work again actually. Still can't get over winning with four hits. So nice. I didn't get the game here in KC. Sucked. Paulie is so clutch it's scary. Great year and career.
  11. The tone of this thread is ridiculously negative. I think KW knows the team needs a better bat at DH. He's done a good job with this team so far.
  12. I could buy him playing all the time in the DH role or five days a week and Kotsay the other 2. That wouldn't be bad. I sort of like the way he's looked at third, though.
  13. Can you read? I put that Omar play at third two days a week and at least 3 at second. That's five days a week out of seven for an old guy. You want him to play all 7 days???
  14. Makes sense. I said to a friend yesterday. Zambrano needs to be waiting in the clubhouse for the team after the game and issue some tearful apology. Instead, he goes to dinner with Ozzie and everybody. He's another guy that let the money take over his personality. This guy is a cancer and needs to be out of baseball.
  15. Yeah he really needs to be sent down. Stupid to not let him play somewhere. Unless they've discovered he's really 25 or 26 I don't get it. It's kind of frustrating. He should be playing third five days a week, Omar the other two and Omar fill in for Beckham some other days at second.
  16. I kind of agree. It's been long enough to say I don't understand bringing up Dayan and have him sit. Weird move and dumb. He's hardly playing at all.
  17. Zambrano had no velocity yesterday. If that's Zambrano, no thanks. As far as that trade, that's kind of funny. It's like a pretend trade you'd make as a kid with friends. Throw in some horrible horrible players (no offense, Juan, you've been pretty damn good since your rough start) in a pretend trade for some other player. The Cubs would have to be idiots to want Pierre, Linebrink and Teahen. Might as well throw Lilly in there and Randy Williams as well.
  18. At the risk of joining the Kotsay haters club, I think it'd be better for the team now and forever to just substitute his name/and or Jones' name if he's DH with Dayan in the lineup every day.
  19. Is it OK if for now on, I just write "Jenksy Cat" when I want to defend the great Bobby Jenks? Will everybody understand what I mean? Maybe I'll try that a while.
  20. I wonder if Oz would get criticized heavily for letting, say, Peavy throw 150 to complete a no no. The Rays have to feel a little shellshocked getting no hit so much. As good a team as they've had, it's bizarre.
  21. Detroit's home record is simply amazing. How are the Tigers doing it? Are the Tigers ultimately Central champs?
  22. Hopefully they'll come down to earth at home. Before long we're going to have to start playing AL teams again.
  23. Here's my list of league leaders: SAVES—NFeliz, Texas, 20; Soria, Kansas City, 18; Gregg, Toronto, 18; Jenks, Chicago, 17; RSoriano, Tampa Bay, 17; Valverde, Detroit, 17; MRivera, New York, 17; Rauch, Minnesota, 17. A Bobby-lover manager might pick him. They usually like to stack a lot of relievers on the all-star roster
  24. That's true. Hopefully the new stadium has foiled their mojo, however. They were annually unstoppable in the baggie-dome.
