Beckham swings through a hittable fastball. Two strikes now. Nice foul there.

AJ isn't always the answer. Prolly woulda hit into a DP. Cmon Beckham!

When Lexi's going good he finds those holes a lot. It's pretty bad when you know who is at the plate and it's Kotsay and he hits it good, you know it ain't going out. Did Hawk get excited when it left the bat? True Sox fans knew no chance of HR.

Can the Sox keep the offensive first and third momentum going? I'd ask for a dinger but it appears unlikely tonight.

Carlos went and got that one. At least he didn't fall down.

The posts in the KC series? Standing up for Pods, etc? I don't know why people get so worked up. I agree with all of you that the 11-game win streak didn't make me drink the kool aid, though it was impressive and fun.

Freddy 3 runs in six innings would be a good outing. Man he throws soft though.

Castro is not so good.

You are right. Viciedo needs to play and do well. and we need to end the Kotsay/Jones awfulness and get a real player in there.

We need Alexei and Beckham to get on a roll.

Why does it seem like that streak against the NL never happened?

Freddy is the definition of what you want out of a No. 5 starter.

Paulie with the weak weak ground out. Hope it's not too late before Oz realizes we need an infusion of youth with the oldies. Free Viciedo!

You gotta admit. Sweaty Freddy is a pretty good No. 5 starter. He'll give up 2-4 runs through 6 or 7 innings. Not bad at all. Should Rios have had that triple? I only saw it briefly.

Beckham with the error. I'd agree with your answer, "No."

Yep; that I am.

It does feel that way. I can't imagine outscoring Texas in any of the games. Sweep for Texas.

Yeah standing up for players is really uncool. Sorry to offend you all for standing up for players.

Time For a New Leadoff Hitter
No he can't hit a deep fly ball. He is kind of likeable, however. Seems like he plays hard day in and out. Just has no pop in the bat whatsoever.

The history of the Soxtalk Whipping Boy
If anybody considered Thome a whipping boy ... Wow. It got to me wondering after seeing Thome mentioned. Are there any players in Sox history who are beloved on this board? Who do you unequivocally love from the past? Frank? It seems like people on the board do love him. I seem to recall reading some negative stuff about him the last year or 2 of his career. Maybe I'm wrong. Paulie? He got torn into two seasons ago when he didn't hit. And some have said they'll gladly bag on him if he starts to suck at any point. Maggs?: I think he's been mocked on here. Crede? Buried on here. Pods? Buried on here. Garland: Buried on here. Chet Lemon?: Haven't seen any hate of late. Ozzie: Was a popular player; regularly ripped on here. Thome?: I thought he stayed pretty popular through the end but somebody has him on the whipping boy list. So I guess he got bagged on last year for the Ks and his hitting into the shift. Jenks: crucified on here. Dye: MVP buried on here. Now I'm not saying some of these Sox players haven't been praised on occasion on this board, but who in Sox history would you say is universally BELOVED like the Dubs love Santo and Banks and Williams? Like the O's love Ripken, etc. I would guess Minoso. Dick Allen maybe. Mark Buehrle maybe. Would Mark be the only guy from the 05 team universally loved? I haven't sensed any mocking of him when he's gotten lit up since the no hitter, just people pointing out his lousy stats outside the NL games. Any reaction to this? What current or former Sox do you love and it will never change?

It's funny how I expected us to win pretty much every game against the NL teams (even though at one point I said we weren't capable of sweeping anybody this year), and now I also expect us to get beat up by Texas. Hope we compete well but if we can't win 2 of 3 from KC how we gonna do it against Texas??
