  1. I just don't like Teahen. I saw what he brought to the table for years in KC and said immediately it was a bad idea to bring him in. Viciedo right now is the opposite of buzzkill. Teahen fielded terribly and is a mediocre to bad hitter who strikes out all the time. Aside from that, he's fine.
  2. No way in hell will he be the one sent down if he keeps showing this kind of promise. f*** Teahen. It'll be Lilly or cutting Jones or somebody. If Viciedo keeps this up we NEED his youth on the team and his pop. Teahen is buzzkill.
  3. Thanks for the info Heads. Boy Kazmir has had a rotten season. Let's rough him up.
  4. Is this on WGN? I'm watching on the puter.
  5. Lexi is a different player in the summer. Wow.
  6. What's with being Mr. Buzzkill? He's hot as hell. We need him to hit like this considering he puts some life into a punchless lineup. I like the Lexi of summertime compared to the early season lousy Lexi. Enjoy.
  7. Exactly. Nobody wants that stiff. Nobody would take him if we cut him tomorrow.
  8. Maybe chw. I like Castro a lot more than somebody like Jones.
  9. My guess is in the message board age, you could bury any manager of the White Sox or any team just by watching a week's worth of games. All managers suck to armchair quarterbacks. All of them. Give any manager a week of scrutiny on this board, following every pitch in a game, and that manager by the end of the week will be trash.
  10. He asked the question and I think my answer is why he is playing. He's our regular catcher. Why the f*** do you think he's playing? He plays until the day he needs a rest. As far as Jones, he is a waste and should be out of baseball. Hopefully he'll be off the team before long.
  11. All managers are bad at something. I'd take the guy with the team with the best talent. Players win games. That said, Ozzie rocks.
  12. Even better. You are a great auntie.
  13. Uh, AJ is playing because he's our regular, everyday catcher. Seems simple to me.
  14. What a great uncle you are. I feel s***ty that I don't live in Chicago and missed out on those great moments of taking my nephews to games, etc. Oh well, got to put bread on the table. Just out of curiosity what does an uncle do if his niece is 4 and has to go to the bathroom? You can't let her go in there alone. Do you get a stranger to take her in there? The questions that pop into one's brain. Anyhow. Good luck at the game!!! Go Sox!
  15. Great win. Lexi is really starting to come through. Love it. Thornton nice job. Mark of course. Others too. Nice.
  16. As much as I love Jenks, you'll be surprised to hear that I am also in favor of letting Thornton close for a while. There's nothing wrong with riding the hot hand. Hope Ozzie continues to ride the hot hand. Right now Thornton is unstoppable. Lilly's horrific throw didn't bother him a bit. It should have been two outs nobody on, instead Thornton merely shrugs it off and gets the save anyway. I'd just flop their roles for a while. Or if Bobby can't pitch in tie games and be the set up man, then closer by committee. I trust Oz's hunches, but right now Thornton is the real hot hand and I wouldn't mind seeing him close for a while.
  17. No it isn't. But he's been great in his role so far this year.
  18. I still wouldn't stress about it. I'm sure he's thrilled to make the team and I doubt these guys are firing fastballs all week leading to the game.
  19. That's a neat story. Please write us a little recap of what the experience was like for both you and your niece. How old is she? I'd be interested in if the modern kid is thrilled upon walking in the park, more worried about the stuff you can do outside of your seat and the food or what. Let us know how much money you drop as well. You've got to immediately get her a hat, right?
  20. I wouldn't worry about that. Cal Ripken could have used the days off all those years and it didn't bother him. This puts pressure on the Sox to make Thornton the full time closer doesn't it? Baseball is proclaiming him more important/impressive than Jenks. Didn't they expand the rosters big-time a few years ago? Even with that Rios/Paulie get snubbed?
  21. You think Putz would not fail if he entered as many save situations as Bobby? People always want the unknown.
  22. Let's see Putz do it as a closer. My guess is some fans wouldn't be happy with any closer because none get saves every night. Two nights ago we abused Texas' ultra phenom. Jenks has been great this season; Putz as well. But let's see Putz close night in and night out. He'd blow saves just like Bobby has blown saves in the past and will blow saves again.
  23. Fine if you want to blame Ozzie for the roster, do so. And do so again and again and again. But he's got to play these guys that are on the roster. I said before the game the last 5 guys in the order wouldn't scare any pitcher. So what? That's the roster we have. You can nitpick all you want about who should pinch hit and when. Ozzie didn't do anythng that cost this s*** ass offensive team the game tonight. Jones is on the team. He's going to play some games. CQ apparently had a bum elbow. Blaming the manager is so funny after losses. The manager never gets credit for moves during a win, except the easy cop out, "Oz managed a great game tonight." Uh yeah, you win it's a well managed game; lose and a poorly managed game. I wish you guys could get your wish and get Ozzie fired. You'd all be so much happier until a loss when you could pinpoint 10 moves the new manager messed up on. For a while, though, you could still blame Ozzie for not wanting Thome and thus the new manager would have an Ozzie driven roster that can't hit.
  24. Have you ever watched a game we lost and not blamed the manager? That is all. You wanted CQ to pinch hit in the seventh inning as I recall didn't you? yeah we should pinch hit for everybody. Our lineup sucks. Is it that hard to fathom?? We lose. Ozzie sucks. On to the next game where maybe we win and Ozzie that day only sucks a little.
  25. Why I never wanted to run Jimmy Thome out of town. I liked him. It was obvious we needed him if we were gonna go with the moronic combo of Kotsay/Jones at DH.
