  1. I like Juan, but if you look up his name in the dictionary, you see .250.
  2. Dayan is last year's version of Beckham. Ozzie must play him. The guy can hit the f***ing ball which is more than a lot of guys on the team. Free Dayan! Cut Kotsay and Jones. Get rid of them please.
  3. Lexi has gotten good at the routine play.
  4. How come no hate for our offensive performance last inning?
  5. So three bad starts in a row from our staff .. wow. The Sox play so s***ty against KC and the Tribe.
  6. Jones is no good. This is what we get for not scoring last inning.
  7. Kotsay doesn't pass the eye test at the plate; Dayan does, however. Play Dayan every day, Oz, just do it.
  8. Kotsay should pay the Sox for letting him play. I realize he got that hit earlier, but Pods made a s***ty play on that pop up he hit. I am not a Kotsay lover.
  9. I could say a team of former Sox wouldn't be bad. I'll start with Maggs, Carlos Lee, Garland, Swisher (god I hated him on our team), Olivo, Pods, Thome, Aardsma, Gio, Young. I'm sure there are a ton more.
  10. Good stats. I don't understand how Beckham could be so great last year and so horrible this year. Seems odd that a guy can't buy a hit after stroking all those gappers last year.
  11. The only buzzkill in this lineup is Kotsay/Beckham.
  12. Some of you guys who know the trades/Sox transactions better than I do could list a pretty good team we could field of guys we traded, let go. And yes I thought Wise was a great final player on the roster. He's way better that this year's final player on the roster, Lilly.
  13. Couldn't we field a pretty good team with a lot of the guys we've traded away the last 3 years?
  14. I would agree, Ace. Doesn't Stone do some radio work in the day sometimes? I would think on there if he's asked about it he's going to have to tell the truth. He seems like a straight shooter. I guess during the telecast, he could avoid bringing it up. Out of sight; out of mind. As bad as Kotsay and Jones are, just let Dayan DH if Oz is so set on playing oldie Omar every single day. He doesn't even yank Omar in Sunday lineups anymore, does he? Oz simply needs to have Pierre and Omar out there or he must feel panicked without them.
  15. I thought this said Beckham the first time I read it. New glasses needed.
  16. The only thing that worries me about the streak is the NL thing. Like somebody said, our team is sort of weird ... I could see us sucking for a week or so just because we're the Sox and we're back playing AL teams and the team just does crazy unexpected things — in this case perhaps immediately suck after being unbeatable for 2-3 weeks. We shall see. Hope we win 2 of 3 from KC and continue rolling and render my post dumb, but nothing will surprise me with this team. I hope there's a method to Oz's madness regarding Dayan. I know the Pirates brought up their phenom and put him in the lineup immediately and he has been horrid.
  17. Ranger, why the heck isn't Dayan playing? This team won 11 in a row ... great. I love it and applaud Oz and the team. But the offense is still pretty damn s***ty. Four hits again tonight. Send him down if he's not gonna play. If anything it won't piss off the fan base seeing him sit there and rot. p.s. title of this thread needs to be changed to: KW needs to add someone (even though I think that someone should be Dayan).
  18. That's my point. In a game of streaks like baseball, that s*** means nothing. We won 11 in a row and Twins were moderately s***ty and we caught up. Now if we don't start playing good ball against the AL, it'll revert back. But that math of how many we'd have to go over .500 to stand a chance was dumb.
  19. I hope KW realizes this. It would be a shame to see it slip away. This team's offense just isn't good enough. We are not going to hit Zack this week so barring a miracle we win just one of three in KC, if that. This team's 11 game win streak was wonderful but ... get us a bat or two somehow, Kenny.
  20. I assume you are calling for Dayan. Cause there's no other spot Oz is going to find offense with this bad offensive roster.
  21. Four hits ain't gonna cut it. The NL win streak was wonderful. It got us back in the race. Now if KW would make a couple decent moves we might stay in the race. Jones, Kotsay, Juan, Beckham, AJ still are not hitting. If Dayan isn't going to get a chance, we at least must acquire a decent DH type soon, soon, soon. Again I take nothing away from the great win streak. But we still have not near enough offense to beat AL teams.
  22. It would have (or will) be nice to win tonight to end any talk of us going on a bad streak after such a good one. Also the return to the AL competition and our Central brethren.
  23. Or maybe the fan base is smart enough to realize managers have to say they like their current team and need nothing else. It is obvious Oz still likes Kotsay, but at least he isn't playing Jones as much as he used to. I think we'd be fine if he'd just stop being stubborn and let Viciedo be a regular. Of course, that phenom the Pirates called up is hitting below .100 in his first 30 at bats and strikes out every other at bat so there still could be some adjustment time for Dayan.
  24. You said it all, WC Sox. That's all that needs to be said about that topic. Spot on. Zambrano is an average to below average pitcher who makes way too much money. Nobody with a brain will want that guy even if they only have to pay 5 or 6 mill for him.
