  1. Well if anybody in this organization wants Jones to play every home game once he hits 399, then any and all of these people should be deemed dunces and have to wear dunce caps to every home game until he hits such home run.
  2. With all due respect, I think you've lost your mind. Nobody cares about his 400 home runs. Nobody and the Sox know that. Nobody would buy a ticket to see him hit it; nobody gives a f*** about his milestone. He is an awful hitter.
  3. Great post. I'd just be worried in this day and age about letting a kid go with a stranger anywhere that's why I wonder how you handle that. The responsibility of taking a young niece to a game would be mind boggling. Some lunatic could kidnap her or whatever. Maybe most families don't let the uncles take the nieces to games until she's bout 10.
  4. Thanks for sharing. You sound like the kind of person I'd love to go to a game with. Totally upbeat! Great great story. I'd just send Brooks a copy of your Soxtalk post if I were you. That's cool you stayed for the fireworks and didn't stress about getting out of the park right away. Good to teach the kids to enjoy every minute of a game. And great story about Lexi and the Tshirt and homer. This is also a lesson in how much money you can spend at a game. You didn't even talk about food/drinks and you dropped a ton before even getting to your seats. How much did you 2 eat/drink during the game? Any update on the money there? Thanks for sharing. I can't imagine a better game for the 2 of you. Tons of home runs. Fireworks during the game and after the game and the great catch in right field. Had to be perfect, really.
  5. He sucks at second as well. I think of Teahen as a step below Ross Gload. Or similar to Ross Gload. He's just not very good. Let him play twice a week against righties if we have to. I'm telling you though, if we are in the race, he could really be buzzkill. I do hope we can acquire a big stick soon from somewhere. what's happened to the Dunn talk?
  6. I agree he appears to be a class guy. He seems really great in interviews. I wish him the best but he should be on a lousy team if he wants to be a regular. No offense, but he's also not a second baseman. He's really a bad infielder. He just doesn't bring much to the table on a contending baseball team. Trust me, he sucked in Kansas City and fans were so happy to see him go.
  7. Lemme ask you a question. Why do you like him? And with our current lineup and set of contributors you want to immediately pencil him into the lineup? I think that is a VERY BAD idea. WHen he comes back if we are in the race, he should pinch hit and/or play once a week.
  8. Nice to see us beating AL teams after sucking in KC. Would sure be nice to go six over .500 tomorrow. Great win tonight though. Most impressed with CQ. When he's hitting like this you tend to dream big.
  9. I just don't like Teahen. I saw what he brought to the table for years in KC and said immediately it was a bad idea to bring him in. Viciedo right now is the opposite of buzzkill. Teahen fielded terribly and is a mediocre to bad hitter who strikes out all the time. Aside from that, he's fine.
  10. No way in hell will he be the one sent down if he keeps showing this kind of promise. f*** Teahen. It'll be Lilly or cutting Jones or somebody. If Viciedo keeps this up we NEED his youth on the team and his pop. Teahen is buzzkill.
  11. Thanks for the info Heads. Boy Kazmir has had a rotten season. Let's rough him up.
  12. Is this on WGN? I'm watching on the puter.
  13. Lexi is a different player in the summer. Wow.
  14. What's with being Mr. Buzzkill? He's hot as hell. We need him to hit like this considering he puts some life into a punchless lineup. I like the Lexi of summertime compared to the early season lousy Lexi. Enjoy.
  15. Exactly. Nobody wants that stiff. Nobody would take him if we cut him tomorrow.
  16. Maybe chw. I like Castro a lot more than somebody like Jones.
  17. My guess is in the message board age, you could bury any manager of the White Sox or any team just by watching a week's worth of games. All managers suck to armchair quarterbacks. All of them. Give any manager a week of scrutiny on this board, following every pitch in a game, and that manager by the end of the week will be trash.
  18. He asked the question and I think my answer is why he is playing. He's our regular catcher. Why the f*** do you think he's playing? He plays until the day he needs a rest. As far as Jones, he is a waste and should be out of baseball. Hopefully he'll be off the team before long.
  19. All managers are bad at something. I'd take the guy with the team with the best talent. Players win games. That said, Ozzie rocks.
  20. Uh, AJ is playing because he's our regular, everyday catcher. Seems simple to me.
  21. What a great uncle you are. I feel s***ty that I don't live in Chicago and missed out on those great moments of taking my nephews to games, etc. Oh well, got to put bread on the table. Just out of curiosity what does an uncle do if his niece is 4 and has to go to the bathroom? You can't let her go in there alone. Do you get a stranger to take her in there? The questions that pop into one's brain. Anyhow. Good luck at the game!!! Go Sox!
  22. Great win. Lexi is really starting to come through. Love it. Thornton nice job. Mark of course. Others too. Nice.
  23. As much as I love Jenks, you'll be surprised to hear that I am also in favor of letting Thornton close for a while. There's nothing wrong with riding the hot hand. Hope Ozzie continues to ride the hot hand. Right now Thornton is unstoppable. Lilly's horrific throw didn't bother him a bit. It should have been two outs nobody on, instead Thornton merely shrugs it off and gets the save anyway. I'd just flop their roles for a while. Or if Bobby can't pitch in tie games and be the set up man, then closer by committee. I trust Oz's hunches, but right now Thornton is the real hot hand and I wouldn't mind seeing him close for a while.
  24. No it isn't. But he's been great in his role so far this year.
