  1. Freddy had a good couple innings but many of his pitches were meatballs. One more start would be fair to him.
  2. What round pick was Fields? Another waste.
  3. Can't argue with that. In a horrible division with our team seemingly having a lot of talent, we have just enough holes to make us a .500 team. I wish baseball would stop paying middle relievers five to seven million dollars a year when most of them suck.
  4. We need him and fast. Rios has been OK but hasn't exactly cured us of our .500itis.
  5. I can't argue. He will be lit up at Fenway. Ugly times ahead.
  6. Tonight's one runner was one of the worst. Just cause we led a horrific baseball team 4-1. At that point we did it in exciting fashion. Then ... nothing.
  7. I don't think it's alarmist to say we're about done. We're not going to do much on that road trip. .500 would be a miracle.
  8. That was horrible. A good 15 year old player could have thrown him out at the plate. Stupid. He had all the momentum on a shallow fly ball. s*** that play sucked!
  9. Some of us don't care that much about the Bears. Cutler doesn't make me feel better after this s*** game.
  10. The Royals suck; Cleveland sucks. Barring a miracle both beat us 2-3 in the Cell.
  11. Let the flaming begin. Can't sugarcoast that disaster.
  12. fivehundred (.500) is a dirty word to me.
  13. Things looked so promising at 4-1 at home versus a bad team.
  14. I wish our guys would just make contact. Cmon, just hit the ball and see if it can find a hole.
  15. He's hurt bad. Sad for Soria. Good pitcher.
  16. Freddy did stink, but our other starter options might have as well. He definitely didn't look like a guy capable of beating a decent team.
  17. We aren't going to beat Soria, just like we ain't going to beat Greinke (how's that for being a deb downer?)
  18. If we lose tonight (we're down 5-4 in the ninth with Soria coming in) I think this thread might get a few more responses. Detroit won tonight. We had huge crowd. It's either rally vs. Soria or look at Greinke with the series on the line. The underachieving clicks may grow tonight.
  19. I like the way Freddy pitches. Gets it and delivers fairly confidently. I just don't think he's got much, even for his return start. KC is a horrific team and he got roughed up pretty good.
  20. It was a helluva catch and might ultimately be the thing we remember most about our .500 season. He and Mark both on one night. Congrats, Mr. Wise.
  21. He sure wasn't overpowering. Another four inning guy like Jose.
  22. Lot of righties in the lineup tonight. Hope we get the bad Meche. I'd love to see a healthy Jimmy in there. Paul needs to get going. Maybe this shoulda been a Kotsay night. Meche can be nasty. And no excuses, White Sox. If Freddy sucks and we need to win 10-9, so be it. Meche can be hit a lot easier than Zack.
  23. Can you imagine the baseball remaining to be played? We got that road trip from hell and say we do somehow survive it all and those games against Detroit the last nine games are meaningful ... that's playoff intensity every single game. Here's the question to answer this thread: On paper, if you were a GM or manager, which team would you rather have? White Sox or Tigers? Aside from grinder mentality and all that ... pure talent, which team? I think I'd rather work with what the White Sox have.
  24. Getz. But Nix's power is intriguing. What if he learned how to both hit these home runs as he's doing AND stroke some regular singles to right once in a while? He might be really something. But I'd vote the grinder Getz.
  25. Either is Lillibridge. Funny thing about last night is how quickly the game got tied. Two easy outs. Two dreaded walks. Hillman makes the pinch hit move to Jacobs, Sox pitching coach comes out to the mound and everybody watching on TV knew it was gonna be tied. One pitch .. bam, tie game. Thank goodness we won. You give the Royals a one run lead in the eighth now and it's over with Soria. You have to be tied or leading the Royals late folks.
