  1. 6-0 ugh. Lexi needs to be a leadoff hitter and get on f***ing base here.
  2. I'm not impressed with this A's team. Why is it 7-7? I just got in to tune in. Has it been ugly?
  3. I'm glad this "fan" has been outed and named in the media and staked out at the police station last night. Maybe it'll prevent people from doing this crap in the future. What a f***ing moron to dump a beer on a ballplayer. Bad decision. He should be convicted of something and not let off. 3 days in jail and a big fine would be nice. Stupid stupid people who interfere with balls in play and dump beer on players.
  4. I don't know about that. It might be say ... talent? Linebrink, Dotel, Pena seem awfully mediocre to me. I think Pods does more for the team than those guys. And I know, I know. Dotel has a lot of fans on here.
  5. If that's true, that's funny. That's a helluva nap. He must have been one tired dude.
  6. I agree. Beckham should stay put in the lineup. As far as Pods, even if we say he 100 percent cost us the game, he's won us at least five single handedly so he's ahead of the curve. My only problem with player criticism, is sometimes people forget the player's overall value iin a season. He's been good to very good and I was against bringing him in initially. I guess as long as a ballplayer keeps raking every night (Pujols, Mauer are close) they are pretty exempt from criticism. There was a time not too long ago Pods was hitting and walking so well he was exempt from criticism. Not now. Pods made a huge mistake and it cost us the game but how many middle relievers have cost us games this year with their horrific pitching (walks, base hits)?
  7. Getz is a mighty likeable player. I like him. Sucks he's out. As far as your above quote ... why does Oz catch it every time??? It's like any other company nowadays ... a "TEAM" thing. You think Kenny won't have a say in whether Lilly or Nix plays, at least from the get go? I'd amend it to say cmon Ozzie and Kenny don't mess this one up.
  8. Good post. One amendment though: You said we're gonna lose games, lots of them and win games lots of them. I say: We're gonna win as many games as we lose. .500 baby.
  9. Why should he hustle? He's set with that contract. He has a reputation as a lazy player. We'll see.
  10. Why is it hilarious. .500 teams are tough to follow. We basically lose every other day and there's always a goat in a loss. We lose a lot. The team is a flirt.
  11. We should know for sure by the end of the month. We play Oak, KC and Baltimore before the big road trip. If we don't kick the living s*** out of those 3 teams then we'll know. We play very well against good teams but believe me we're not going to be dominating Boston and New York on that road trip and we all know for some insane reason we can't beat a very bad Twins team in their pisss*** of a building. If we somehow get red hot and take care of business against those 3 bad teams, we might have some good momentum going to play the big boys and in that scenario could split with Boston (gasp) and win one in NY before the Twins fiasco.
  12. Harsh nickname. He has had a great great season though the pickoff thing was really bad.
  13. We are only two back which is good. But we have shown no signs of being able to take advantage of anything. Detroit is getting b****slapped by Boston so we can't beat a good Seattle team but one game? We need to take advantage especially since Detroit mauled us four of five recently. I'll never give up, but ... I guess we'll be waiting on Jimmy to save the day like he did last year in the playoff game vs. Minnesota. I agree though it's stupid to say, 'Wait til next year.' That's dumb. We still have a chance now but this team is definitely a .500 enigma.
  14. There's no reason to be too angry. If a .500 team can win this division, we'll be there all season. If it can't, we won't. Maybe we can hang in there all the way, but I go back to Justin's article. Our team is a flirt like he said. Maybe next year we'll catch fire and be better than .500ish. We get great pitching and suddenly we can't hit a lick.
  15. Nobody on the bench needs to tell Dye anything. He's what, sixth in the league in homers? Albeit not a ton of them but he's still arguably one of our best hitters.
  16. Even Dye should realize he needs a day off or two. I wonder if Oz will adress it with him 1-1 or just pencil Rios in today and not speak to Dye about the ultimate plan for Rios.
  17. Great article. Great analysis on all the players who deserve to play. Has Oz or KW been quoted as saying Rios, CQ, Pods and Dye and Thome will all continue to play a lot? Was that written somewhere? Personally it's not fair but I think if Rios has to play everyday and for that money he probably has to play every day, then you have to take out the guy who he's better than on paper. And that's Pods. Problem is Pods has been amazing. I wouldn't think juggling the lineup every day will work in this day and age of me first ballplayers. I guess I'm in favor of juggling the lineup and seeing how it goes, but we don't have much wiggle room here. We have to win and win now. That said ... on paper ... if you have to make a decision it's a no brainer. Pods must sit for Rios. Rios makes WAY more money and on paper Rios is the better player.
  18. Will the guy benched for Rios complain tonight or take it like a man? CQ, Pods and Dye are pretty good major leaguers (Pods since his getting healthy and rejuvenated; Dye scuffling in last 80 at bats).
  19. Rongey or DJ, somebody on the radio last night was crediting Wise being on base for our rally. Something about Aardsma slidestepping and not getting the good velocity cause he was worried about Wise. I don't remember the whole scenario but Wise was getting some love.
  20. I'm trying to figure out what turned Dye into such an unpopular player on this board. I'm hoping it's just because of peoples dislike for me on this board and I'm a huge Dye supporter. Aside from that, I for the life of me can't believe the Dye hatred I've seen lately. It's unexplainable. Paulie last year and Dye this year. Wow.
  21. Justin wrote it in his article today on this site. The Sox have been a tease. Until they prove otherwise, they are mediocre. There's nothing there but mediocrity.
  22. Seattle is wishing it was in the AL Central. .500 here we come unless we start to man up.
  23. Didn't want to waste a new thread on this guy. Hope this report is wrong. Hineybirdi to the once-proud Tribune. Oh well, maybe his Oz/Kenny rants keep the team honest. He's really the only critical, albeit piece of s*** columnist in the city at least from what I can tell. I really dislike his columns, though.
  24. I never said Jose was "atrocious" just that 4-11 is a horrible record, which it is and it will be nice having him out of here next year. I don't think he's astrocious and I won't take the bait lest I get banned. See the warning which I've heeded in the other thread.
