  1. That walk sucked. Pena was mad at the one call and had no chance after that. WTF?
  2. Boy oh boy. This station to station baseball can be tough to stomach.
  3. Hard to believe we may not get that run in after all. Could be the game right here by Getz.
  4. I can't read all 30 pages, but I'll skim 'em later. What's been our fan board consensus? Please summarize for me. I guess Clayton and Poreda aren't that highly thought of by our people. I sort of liked what I saw from Clayton and all we heard about in the offseasons was Poreda. I'll hope for the best. Little confusing he won't be ready until September and now we have no Clayton to start games. Don't see how that helps us this year.
  5. If Beckham is really starting to get it defensively, there may be no need to move him back to ss. If we don't trade Lexi, that could be a good ss/3b combo for a while. It worked out for ARod. Short is a lot tougher to play. I don't care if it is Gordon's "natural position."
  6. Good article. I personally think the Jays would be dumb not to take your proposed deal. They want to dump Halladay and they get Lexi, two pretty darn good pitching prospects. It's a trade we might someday regret, but it is Halladay. As long as he doesn't get hurt, that's pretty major. I do think Lexi's absence would really hurt us though. It might cripple us. His bat is pretty big in our lineup which has even more holes w/out Lexi.
  7. Good post thunderbolt. I loved your post. Sometimes when I see a post like your earlier post, I just shake my head and take it that you didn't even enjoy the moment and enjoy the win because it was Wise and means he might get to play more. But obviously you do enjoy the wins. I fully understand your last long post. I guess I didn't like the short one written shortly after Wise got the hit. I thought you truly were bummed in a way that we actually won, just cause it was Wise. Good stuff.
  8. Exciting win. To those of you at the game, what was the atmosphere like? Was it really loud and wild when we scored the game winner?
  9. What a great post. It's a reminder why if you are only 4 out in the loss column, there's a good argument to keep plodding along trying to win the division. A lot of teams are buried by now. Great post.
  10. That's cool he got suspended. Kudos to you for suspending that guy for that. So as I won't get suspended, to this post let me just say I am glad I do not approach sports like you apparently do (at least on the internet). My gosh. You say SIGH? I am a White Sox fan.D. Wise saved a fricking perfect game! That is a lifetime memory. Wise just beat the hated Yankees with a base hit. You see nothing wrong with your statement so more power to you. I'm just glad I am not that kind of fan. Did Wise beat you up in an alley or something? He's the worst player on our roster, fine. Yet he's personally responsible for 2 fantastic finishes.
  11. Way to shut em up again, Dwayne. Does that person who called him a human piece of s*** the other day still feel that way? The worst player on our roster saves a perfect game and beats the Yankees. That is not a human piece of s***. Congrats again, Dwayne.
  12. OMG after the slump we're in, now we have to play the Yankees? Geez.
  13. We have 4 hits in 21 at bats so far tonight. The game ain't over, but we may be about to go 1-6 vs. our divisional rivals on this trip after this game. Yuk.
  14. How do you know? The hatred toward Wise never ceases to amaze me. Somebody pointed out a few days ago he's the worst player on our roster. Every team's last player or two suck. So why the venom? I wish people would just bag on Oz and KW every day instead of Wise. Guy makes maybe the greatest catch in Sox history and you call him a piece of s***. Makes no sense to me. Just the fact he made that catch means he is NOT a piece of s***. He's not good but he's not a piece of s***.
  15. This was a dumb rumor it appears. Why would anybody want Bradley? He's another Jose Guillen. At least Maggs doesn't cause problems.
  16. Then that shows why we are a .500 team at best. Our baseball team had BA and Fields penciled in as starters and you think they were were basically nothing. Those are 2 positions on a team filled with trash. As far as Kenny. That's his job to evaluate players. GMs always need a crystal ball so to speak. He should have moved Josh in the offseason and signed Crede to a Twins' like deal. Or given it to Beckham to begin with. The few weeks in the minors probably didn't matter much to Gordon to start the year. His ability was probably there to begin with unless you guys think that month or so in the minors helped him a lot. And you said: But Crede was no sure thing and KW thought Fields was a potential all star so he wasn't going anywhere unless they got Cabrera or someone like that. If KW thought fields was potential all star, some other GM might have bit in the winter when teams are more apt to deal to make some changes.
  17. You don't think Fields could have been shopped last winter to get a much better prospect/player? As well as BA? Now they are scraps. In the offseason, Fields was taking over for Crede to the delight of all the Crede bashers. He was our starter with some promise. Now he's nothing but garbage on the trade market. BA also was likely to be our starter. Now we get old Kotsay for him? Scraps.
  18. Great, so now we'll get nothing for Fields except some Class A ball guy or a guy like Kotsay. Bummer.
  19. Uh oh. If the Bosox acquired him that must mean Bill James thinks BA can hit in the big leagues.
  20. The season is going full circle; now we're blaming Walker again.
  21. We are the Twins personal whipping boys. We should have at least make some money off this embarrassment at the dome. Whenever we play there we should send somebody to Vegas and bet all our savings on the Twins. Yes they are favored and our profits would be less but when the Sox play the Twins in Minnesota, we lose, lose, lose and lose some more. It's unbelievable. Either we choke every time or we truly are incapable of playing the kind of baseball it takes to win in that joint.
