Twins (2-2) @ White Sox (1-2) 7:11pm CSN
Well, this season is off to one, s***ty start. 1-3 all against teams in our division. I wish we'd opened on the road with this kind of start. This just sucks.

And that's a Corpse Ball loser!!
A liner to right isn't going to fall for a base hit the way the Royals played him. It's home run or nothing. I didn't say I dislike Thome, I just said as a fan the shift is frustrating to watch. As far as the Royals, their bullpen arguably is as good or better than ours. I'm not the only person suggesting they might contend this year. Laugh all you want. They beat us 2 of 3 in our first meeting this year. We have some work to do if we are going to own them record-wise as we have the last many years. If we don't own the Royals,we're going to have to play a lot better against some other teams to have the same record as last year.

Will Fans boo Crede Friday?
The video thing is very classy. All members of our world championship team are special in their own right. Cheer him the first at bat; silence the rest of his career outside of Chicago. GO SOX. I wanted to add this Ozzie quote from the Sun Times: "Joe is very special in this house,'' Guillen said. ''In my heart, in my mind, that guy is a pro. I've got more respect for him than anybody out there because I saw him play for me when he was hurt. I saw him play for me when he couldn't even move his legs. I appreciate that. Hopefully he has a really bad weekend here and then plays better.'' Say what you want about Oz, but he doesn't lie. He thought Joe was a gamer. Cheer him once.

Getz takes the leadoff spot
I like Getz but it's not like he's Rickey Henderson. He's going to be Getz.

And that's a Corpse Ball loser!!
Quick ramblings. ... -- To get that kind of pitching, it's embarrassing not to sweep them. -- I do think the Royals are finally going to contend. I know that contradicts my first sentence. -- I also don't like to see Bobby in non save situations. -- As a fan, I'm sick of the Thome shift. -- I hate to lose series at home. I just hate it. It almost seems like there's no sense of urgency sometimes to win games that aren't played in September. I realize I contradict myself a bit here. It's just frustrating to open 1-2 at home.

A message for K.W.?
That is scary that you say CQ had a bad spring as well. That would really suck if he was not the CQ of a year ago. Actually we could not survive that. Our lineup will be toast without CQ being CQ of last yar.

Will Fans boo Crede Friday?
That sounds reasonable to me. The standing ovation will forever be in his mind and in reports of the game, in the papers, sportscenter, etc. After that ... even Crede knows no Sox fan is going to root for a Twins player. I'd say standing ovation one at bat or polite applause, after that, nothing. He made the decision to play for the Twins instead of the Giants.

Special thread dedicated to shots at Wise
That was boring. What an amazing sport. Just think if that was the only game you had a ticket to all year. It was so dull.

Josh Fields' Carlos Quentin stance
That's what I thought tonight as well. Does anybody know for sure? He looked farther off the plate to me. Man, Zack really plunked him with that pitch on the shoulder. Ouch.

Sorry I don't know the answer to this yet. Did the fans boo Wise a lot again tonight? Has it been really loud booing?
-
The lets get rid of Greg Walker thread
This topic is tiresome only because it was a topic of discussion much of last season. It was addressed by Oz and KW in media interviews. They elected to bring him back after a somewhat controversial year for Walker, so it's really beating a dead horse to discuss it again this year. The offense is going to be identical to last year. Frustrating half the time; explosive when we are hitting homers and shots off the wall.

Special thread dedicated to shots at Wise
This is one of those deals where the fans have spoken. Did they boo him noticeably again tonight? If so, KW and Oz, do what the fans want. Dump him. No sense having the Cell be full of negative vibes all season. We wouldn't lose much if anything if he's yanked off the team or at least out of the lineup. It's really going to be a long year if the fans boo this guy every game. Negative vibes suck. Oz and KW, make your next move. The fans hate Wise in cf. -- I do think it's sad that Wise is the scapegoat here, but "it is what it is." The fans have spoken, dump Wise.

If Getz were put into the leadoff spot
I'd go for AJP or Alexei. Alexei would look nice in the two hole.

But I'm saying this is something to boo Oz over and KW, not Wise. The fans booing Wise need to put up or shut up. Boo Ozzie every time he steps out of the dugout. He's the one playing Wise. I feel sorry for Wise because he's despised. We all know he's below average. So why the f*** boo him? Boo Ozzie. Scream at him about Wise every time his face is shown on the scoreboard or he steps out of the dugout. His failure to bunt sucked, but so did the 3B coach sending one of our plowhorses home to get thrown out. When will our 3B coaches realize our slow guys cannot score on base hits to the outfield when they are on second base? We are what we are. Don't send Dye, Thome, AJP, Paulie on base hits!! It's station to station baby.

You Wise haters are out of control. My guess is he won't be playing much longer. He's gonna be booed out of the Cell every time he makes an out. He's this year's Paulie so far. The hatred is amazing. We all know he's a below average big leaguer. Might as well boo Oz every time he steps out of the dugout and write letters to Kenny. They are the ones playing him. We won the f***ing game. I'm happy with that. Wise's sucky performance doesn't matter. We won.

4/7 Kansas City Royals @ Chicago White Sox 1:05 CDT - CSN
Great win; you guys are in for a long year if you worry about Wise every day. Let's credit the bullpen (Richard, wow!) and Thome and Mark for five somewhat rocky innings yet not costly innings. Who gives a f*** Wise sucked today? We won.

2009 Cubs thread
Gregg also looked decent enough even though he gave up a run. If the Cubs stay healthy, especially Soriano, they obviously are the class of that division. If they make the playoffs year after year, eventually they are going to strike it rich. Injuries will be key as always but they appear to be the class of that division again.

Crede cool under pressure at hot corner
Fair enough point, but I still want him to do well and I want us to win the division.

Sox Move Opening Day to Tuesday
Hope it's not as windy as it's been around here for you in the Cell stands. 40 and wind is mighty cold. Hope Thome lights into some of Meche's fastballs. Cmon Jimmy. 2-3 home runs.

2009 MLB Catch-All Thread
Somebody said Phillies fans booed tonight. Wow, how soon we forget.

Crede cool under pressure at hot corner
Let's just say I disagree with this. I hope he does very well but does nothing to beat us in the 18 f***ing games we have to face him. I agree he picked the wrong team cause of the carpet. Hope our pitchers know how to get him out.

Sox sign Konerko's Personal Batting Practice Pitcher
We love Royals rejects. Hopefully he'll never see the mound. He's one of the worst pitchers in modern baseball history.
-
Are the Sox moving Opening Day to Tuesday?
They can't shorten the season cause of monetary reasons. It's too late to even think that. As far as weather, you never ever know. s*** it was almost 80 degrees in KC a couple weeks ago. It's been in the 70s a lot and now it's 35 with sleet. You just don't know. And the season actually is starting later this year.
-
Jose Contreras
Cheers to him as well. Hope he speeds it up this season and works fast on the mound, ala Mark B. It is nice to have him in there if he is the Jose of old.

Getz #6, Fields #8 on list of Top 30 "breakout"
Uh oh. Hasn't anybody told you rule one of talk radio and message boards? Nobody gives a flip about your fantasy team. Except you, of course. GO SOX! p.s. That would be a neat story if Fields turned into a slugger this season. Bashing home run after home run.
