  1. If it's true it's great news. Any time a ballplayer is fit, it's important. Wonder if Paulie lost the belly fat. He was a little heavy last year.
  2. Throw in jail the guys who lied to Congress. Continue to try to get the names released of the guys who took Roids. Make them talk about it like a-Rod. No suspensions, no asterisks. True baseball fans know Aaron is the true HR king. We'd need too many asterisks like somebody said.
  3. We still don't have a reliable set up man to Bobby. Lexi has an awful spring defensively at ss making Oz wonder what to do. Dye has another good year since he's Jermaine f***ing Dye. Paulie starts slowly and gets booed out of the Cell. CQ becomes even more of a fan favorite and keeps our lineup scary. Lexi hits no matter how bad his D is. We contend.
  4. That's amazing how old Owens is. Proves it's tough to crack a lineup in the majors. I wouldn't discount Wise making it. Oz loves him obviously.
  5. Is this the year the f***ing Royals are added to the mix of teams we have to be concerned with winning the division?
  6. This is the year KW finds out which of our prospects can play. Owens, BA, Fields, Getz, Clayton, Lillebridge, etc. I am kind of looking forward to it. I think it'd be great if our pitchers had good years. We need more consistent relief.
  7. Sure he is. I just don't understand the Crede hate around here. The guy is one of the reasons we won it all. OK, dispute that. I'm sure somebody will say he didn't do squat. He did.
  8. Thanks. I bet they wind up dealing him and eating some salary.
  9. Dunn's the guy I always wanted to be a Sox. Now my other other guy I wish the same is McLouth.
  10. Maybe witesox fan, but magglio sure hasn't been injured since departing the sox and most people would have bet he was through as well. I hope Fields is great, but right now he is a question mark.
  11. I forgot that fathom was that down on floyd. I remember the furor over This.team.is.dead. We should have a moratorium on such posts about deadness of the team this season. Any loss and the team looks dead.
  12. Juan was great, but he had a bad approach at the plate. Hard swing ... hard miss.
  13. How do you know he won't be healthy?
  14. As much as some despise Crede on here, let me ask you this question: Would you, like me, cringe to see Joe in a Twins uniform playing the Sox 20 times a season? A healthy Joe playing against us? Awful news for the Sox. The guy is a clutch hitter and great fielder.
  15. I would agree. He was unselfish too in taking all those walks. I mean our current hitting coach ... does anybody remember HIS style of hitting? Why would that make a difference. If Walker knew how to hit he didn't show it much on the field.
  16. That is the saddest thing I've read on a message board. Do what it takes to win. Does that mean if you are a college fan, you cheat out the ass to win? Pay the players under the table to make sure a Kentucky is always better than a Davidson or Gonzaga? I'm not saying Ky cheats, just citing them as the big school example. Bring out the asterisks and ban anybody who is a known user from the Hall. Baseball doesn't want asterisks but like somebody said this is like the world wide wrestling federation now. The era of steroids has to be noted in the record books. Cheating (taking shortcuts is a nicer way to put it) sucks. -- Did Maggs use?
  17. Educate me. Why do they want to dump him already?
  18. I'm still shocked more players don't have back problems. I would think it's a sport that would really f*** up your back with all the hacks these guys take. How did Thome stay healthy last year?
  19. Great point. Put yourself in his shoes. His answer was great.
  20. He does maybe come across as smug, but the fan was being a total ass. At some point you have to show some passion and stand up for Crede, a guy who helped us win the title. Thank goodness the internet wasn't crazed when Fisk was sucking his final year with the Sox. Fans like the clown who Kenny owned would have blasted Fisk as well when he couldn't catch the ball anymore.
  21. Way to put that stupid ass fan in his place. I mean my god, we win a World Series for the first time in 10 zillion years partly because of Joe f***ing Crede and some moron gets up and cracks some stupid pun about getting rid of Crede and his being a "pain in the back." Good job KW. How soon some of us fans forget.
  22. Very true. On paper, we are a contender again this season. We'll see what happens with injuries, our big boppers and the bullpen.
  23. There are a lotta good free agents out there still. Do you guys think that in a normal economy we'd be sitting pretty right now? We'd have added Garland and Hudson and maybe Rodriguez to be back up catcher? We'd have maybe added a few pitchers? Is it the economy, stupid that has held us back? I mean I'm interested in trying out Getz, etc., but shouldn't we have picked up Garland, Hudson (maybe even Durham), Byrd, Kerry Wood, etc?
  24. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing BA get a chance to thrill us defensively the whole season as a starter in cf. Even if he hit .230 it wouldn't kill us if the other pieces of our lineup, the veteran boppers, do what they are supposed to do. I didn't mean to say Wise was a phenom. Given a choice I'd rather give it to BA because at least we know he's going to be a stud on defense.
  25. This actually doesn't sound bad. Wise is a decent player.
