You can never tell in baseball. That's why you trust the execs who see these guys everyday to decide who should be with the team and who should be traded. Who would have ever thought the Phils' closer this year would not have ANY blown saves? I'm sure his value was awful at one point. You can't trade everybody or you'll always be rebuilding. If KW trades Bobby he better truly believe he has an answer currently on his staff. Maybe he's convinced he has somebody. I'll be shocked if he thinks that person is Dotel.

Hopefully the team that acquires Javy is one we'll face 6-7 times a year, or in the World Series. I'd love to see our long ball softball bashers mash the ball against that stiff.

Look, you can throw out all the numbers you want. The eyes don't lie. Jenks: Got people out. Got saves. Got applause. Dotel: Made people sick to their stomachs with his abysmal pitching. Dotel, with all due respect, is a joke. Not as bad as MacDougal or Sisco or the other Royal hack we put in games, of course, but a joke noneheless. Thornton as closer? Maybe (though he'll break out hearts some nights, many more nights than Bobby), but NOT DOTEL.

OM god. I will not laugh but I will scream. Dotel?? Unhittable? Yes Dotel should be used one inning max, but he will be one of the worst closers in the league. He was quite hittable.

I would hope we could get more than Beltran. Beltran is damn good but Bobby is VERY valuable.

I don't know why so many people have a woody for Chone. I guess we're going to have to finally acquire him and he not hit a lick for people to get off his bandwagon. I sure hope Lexi is a reliable shortstop. It's been a while since we've had a defensive liability at ss. He seems a little wild out there in the field sometimes and that's only at 2B. I think he'll do that w/out even having to try being a cheerleader. He's very likeable. And so is his family. There are no negatives regarding this guy in terms of ourward stuff that people rally around. I would think only the super rich may not like the guy and people tend to balk at the super rich anyway. Good luck to Obama who appears to be a class act.

I predict he's gonna go with his own: Anderson in cf, Fields at third and Getz at second. He'll acquire some more bullpen hopefuls and make one deal for starting pitching help. He's trade one of Thome, Swisher, Paulie, Dye.

I'd argue that Uribe had one hot streak; Swish looked like a guy in need of a hitting guru. Yeah there were bright spots. I'm thinking hitting coaches probably don't matter in this day and age. Guys won't listen anyways. Hitting coaches just make sure guys put in the work and make sure they get extra hitting, etc. But if they DO MATTER I feel Walker is not top notch. If they don't matter and Oz likes hanging with him, fine.

I think it's pretty dumb to bring Greg Walker back. I never personally piled on him on here during the season, but isn't it time for a change? The only reason I see bringing Greg back is the assumption hitting coaches don't matter. The assumption that modern day players won't listen to a hitting coach anyway. If that is true then ... nevermind this argument. What do you folks think? If hitting coaches DO matter, then I think it's safe to say Greg deserves a grade of D for last season and shouldn't be back. Just reassign him. Swish needed help and never got it or never listened to it. He was abysmal. Paulie didn't figure it out til the last month and a half when he was Paulie again. Uribe's approach is a trainwreck. Wise was a mess his last 40 at bats or so. CQ gets hit so many times he may never be healthy after getting plunked on his hands over and over next spring training. Thome could use some advice. That shift is not conducive to winning White Sox baseball. He has power to left center. Why hit grounders at the shallow right fielder all the time? Who does Greg Walker help at the plate? Our lineup was so hot and cold. Didn't we get shut out a great number of times? Again ... why not a change on the staff? Why does Oz love Greg Walker? It doesn't make sense.

I have never voted for a democratic presidential candidate in my life, but cannot vote for John. His choice of Palin was so stupid it is beyond belief. She is probably the hottest chick (her age) in the history of her age. But to be second in command? My god. DUMB choice John. DUMB. Palin needs to host a TV show immediately after the election.
