Slowest Sox team ever
Why would it be "great" to lose both of them. Funny how Thome was the only Sox to knock in a run against Minnie (without that shot we would have lost in extras probably) and Konerko was great the last six weeks and we hate on both. I still wouldn't be sure one isn't gone next season. They can agree to trades, you know. Even if they both stay ... we also forget how much our team changed without CQ. CQ was an MVP type player. Sox fans never made excuses to the point where it was ridiculous. Face facts. We had a chance to beat TBay with a healthy CQ in the lineup!!!! I predict Thome is here 100 percent; Konerko 50-50, could agree to deal. Crede gone. OC gone. Griffey gone. Swisher stays.

Slowest Sox team ever
Luckily Kenny has a good head on his shoulders and will tinker some and not do what some people on here want: trade everybody. I'm sure he'll keep some power and whether you like it or not some of our minor leaguers are going to be in the plans. My guess is Getz and Fields will play for the Sox next season.

4 players that went home AFTER getting to Tampa
We should dump all those guys except for Broadway anyway.

The Story of the 2008 White Sox
Excellent video. As much as we sometimes b**** about being a softball team, wow those homers are exciting. Call me a fool, but I still think CQ mighta led us to greatness in the postseason.

Trading Swisher
I can buy that. It should be interesting to see what Oz does with Swish if he gets off to a slow start next year. It's obvious he didn't want to go to war with the guy down the stretch. We shall see.

4 players that went home AFTER getting to Tampa
I'm surprised the sight of Dotel the last six weeks hasn't soured him on you at all. I could not stomach his implosions. He's definitely not one of my favorites. I do realize once in a while he'd strike out the side and look unhittable. But his suckiness on several occasions down the stretch I felt was unacceptable for a team fighting for postseason berth and postseason success.

Trading Swisher
I respect the Swish lovers standing by their guy. But I wish they'd realize the "bad luck" argument is stupid. He had enough at bats to overcome "bad luck" on balls being hard hit but at people. The bottom line is Ozzie pretty much gave up on the guy and Oz is our manager.

But worth the money? My god has baseball dipped in pitching talent if that's the case. I agree I'd be happy with Dotel if Oz has him on a one batter presentation. If that batter slams a double or OD walks the batter ... TAKE HIM OUT! Cause the bad Dotel is a trainwreck to see.

Sox off-season outlook
Richard is a question mark, but looks like he has a future. Carrasco did OK for the most part but by no means is above average, Linebrink very good when healthy, Dotel is an overpaid bum, Thornton is dandy; Jenks is a god.

Trading Swisher
Yes players are capable of bouncing back after bad years. But Swisher truly sucked. If he would have played like the guy everybody thought we were getting it would have severely lessened the loss of CQ. But he sucked so bad Ozzie wouldn't even play him down the stretch. Maybe he can bounce back. But he truly sucked. He was as bad as Paulie and Paulie got roasted on here; Swish got manlove.

Slowest Sox team ever
That 77 team was one of the best in sports history to watch all summer. Once everybody went back to school not so good. For a summer to remember that was glorious though.

Trading Swisher
he.will.be.fine? Maybe. I look at the stats and see a horrific batting average. Worse than that, my own eyes made me sick seeing him at the plate much of his first year in Chicago. I will root for him if we keep him, and KW hugging him and saying, 'Start over in spring training' makes me believe we will keep him. But to ask somebody to praise Swisher after that horses*** season in which Oz was so sick of watching him bat he benched his ass, is asking a lot.

4 players that went home AFTER getting to Tampa
I wish I could do my job as poorly as Octavio Dotel and have somebody deem my performance a success. Is baseball so out of pitching that Dotel is considered good? My god that guy when he is bad, and he was bad a lot, is horrific. I'd agree with Steve Stone's assessment that Thornton was good to great; Dotel was sickeningly bad at times.

Off-Season Suggestion Thread
I have a question: If you think Fields would get us Figgins, then you are assuming the Angels think Fields is as good as Figgins. If so why wouldn't we just play Fields over Figgins? Laird sounds like a nice backup catcher choice. I'd pass on Pedro.

The speedy and available...
Bunting may be a bad idea but we need to start bashing line drives the opposite way to go with the long ball.

Off-Season Suggestion Thread
Kalapse why would that team be a certain disaster? If all went well, my rotation would be good. Javy might contribute in middle relief. The lineup would be faster. We've still got Quentin, Dye, Lexi, AJ and Swish, who so many love, on the team. Why would my team suck balls? Please explain.

Off-Season Suggestion Thread
Here's a good one. Would yu guys be willing to risk one mere season to finally find out if we have any players in our organization? We go with Getz at second, Lexi at ss and Fields at third and Swish at first. We go with Carlos in left, Owens/Wise in cf and Dye in right. We go with AJP as catcher and Thome as DH. We only trade Paulie to whomever he wants to be traded to. If we can't trade him, then we trade Jimmy to a team he'll go to. Just one trade with one of the big boppers involved if they agree. The trade is for a backup catcher prospect who actually can spell AJP, get some hits and throw people out. We need to rest AJP more. We keep Mark, Floyd, Danks and Clayton as our starters with Poreda No. 5. We move Javy to bullpen, huge salary be damned in this one season experiment. We keep the same bullpen corps. Our speed allegedly would be better if the guys could get on base. We see where it takes us. Would you do it? Guys ... isn't there a chance this team could win? We'd be faster in theory. If you dismiss my idea, at least tell me how you think the team I put on the field would fare. Remember our s***ty division.

Can you imagine playing the Cubs 18 times like the Yanks must do the Bosox? I don't know about you guys, but I wish baseball had a balanced schedule. That way we'd know really what kind of team we had. This year at least it worked out that KC, Det and Cleveland just weren't very good, though Cleve was good the last seven weeks or so.

I love Granderson. I'd love to have Bartlett at least the Bartlett that hits against us. I realize Grandy is probably the face of the Tigers and they'd never ship him to us. WHen's he become a free agent? What bout Bartlett. When he a free agent?

Wikipedia is impressed by his one triple in the gaps. I'm logging into the chat room now if anybody wants to talk baseball. Oops I cant find the chat option. Weird.

KW's messin' with us: Getz and Owens the change we've bee
That really was a crazy quote by KW, sort of daring Ozzie to play Owens, Getz, Fields. He defended himself saying there was speed in the organization, but he understood why Oz wanted to play veterans. He even said Getz reminded him of a Twinkie type player.

Off-Season Suggestion Thread
Is his stolen base ratio that good? I know it's a different position, but seriously wouldn't Owens put up Figgins like numbers if he played all year? One triple? One home run? He did hve a good series vs. Boston I'll give him that. After his 0-for-5 he was an on-base machine.

Don't Mess with Sox Fans
Is that story an urban legend or did that guy really do that? If so that guy should throw out the first pitch next year. To wait and wait patiently for them to suck in the first round? What a mastermind.

4 players that went home AFTER getting to Tampa
We need to ship him back to the Royals. They actually might take him back as the righty bridge before the Mexicutioner with their lefty set in that guy whose name I forget. Dotel is one of those guys who sounds good during the Hot Stove League and you get him and he's not worth the cash.
