White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
Fire Ozzie if you want. It will not matter. The middle relief is horrific. We are not going to the playoffs with this current roster.

Ozzie Throwing in the Towel... on Himself?
Ozzie is Ozzie. It seems to me you love him or hate him. Put me in the love category. It's our talent that has sucked. When is Moronottti gonna write his first Lou Piniella bash column. A fight in the dugout??? That's on the manager folks. And if he rips Lou find that column in the Sox series where Lou was proclaimed a god.

And so the Rowand nonsense begins...
We could argue this forever about whether it was wise to rid ourselves of Rowand, but how can you say he's not a good player????

Gonzalez, Day Called Up
So true. We need a reliable veteran middle reliever we can overwork to get us to Jenks. Day certainly was horrible. His pitches screamed "hit me" against the Twins who embarrassed the Sox today as usual when Santana (four runs?) is pitching.

And Thats a White Sox Loser !
Count pitched horribly in that sixth inning, but my gawd what do you want Ozzie to do? The Sox bullpen is horrible. I mean when he took out Count you knew it was only going to get worse.

AJ Pierzynski
How can you not love a guy very very responsible for the Sox winning the World Series? He'll always be one of my favorites for his role in the playoff victories and Series victory. Clutch.

Favorite Childhood Sox Memory...
It's hard to beat the excitement in the old Comiskey in the summer of 77 when I went to 20 games as a kid. That team hit the ball soo hard. I remember Soderholm hitting a home run in the sixth inning to break up a no hitter against Kansas City in the first game of a doubleheader and the Sox winning. Sox rolled in Game two with Jim Spencer hitting some rocket shot off the facade in the right field upper deck. I also saw the Royals score 3 runs in the first inning of game one on a Friday night at a packed Comiskey. The Sox got four in the bottom of the first and won 11-9. Of course that season went to s*** but it was after the summer had ended. It was a glorious summer, lousy fall.

Rick Morrisey's Column
Exactly WC Sox. This is different. There is swearing in baseball. Managers don't win games; talent wins games.

Rick Morrisey's Column
He is a great columnist; Mariotti might be good nationally but if you read him often you come away realizing he has no perspective. His flip flopping is amateurish. The worst ever was in a 7 day span calling Ben Wallace the darling of the city to basically calling him crud that deserves to be traded or run out of town. Great Trib columnist!

They're back!
Devil's advocate would say Garland might be a better option in the seventh than our horrid relievers (of late anyway). And the Sox bench is not exactly full of good hitters. I'm not an Erstad fan but I am not so sure anything would have mattered. Face it ... unless the Sox come out and bash 2 or more homers in a game, they are cooked offensively. It's a home run hitting team nothing else.

White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
Do you really think Toby Hall would have come through with a hit?
-
White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
It's easy to blame Ozzie. He didn't have the bat in his hands feebly with bags loaded and only one out. It's not like the other players you mention are great hitters either.

White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
We can't afford to lose 3 of the 4 next bad matchups. It's time to start emerging as a real contender.

White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
I hate getting shut down at home.

White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
We need Thome to hit a 5-run home run soon.
-
White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
The Sox bullpen is horrible.
-
White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
The bullpen would have been just as bad. 107 pitches isn't that many.

Where are all you Erstad haters now?
The new whipping boy has to be Sisco. Erstad is doing well and I hope he keeps it up. I just never was sold on the guy.
-
Marriotti, come on now
He may be a columnist, but columnists still can make mistakes. No way do any Sox fans I know including me get more "jollies" from beating the Cubs than winning the World Series. That is pure bulls***. He should be reprimanded for writing that. His paper is one that covered the s*** out of the World Series. The paper knows damn well he is WRONG on this one. Call him on this one. He is wrong on this one. Also he wrote: Lou Piniella is the ''in'' manager, showing no patience for mediocrity and pondering a possible eventual move of closer Ryan Dempster to the rotation. As for Guillen, he is becoming passe, a wounded animal Save this. He will jump on Lou before long. It's inevitable.

Crede Update
I can't imagine his back ever getting better considering the number of swings he takes at pitches in BP and in games as well as the bending over for grounders each and every day. Like the Royals' mike Sweeney, he'll probably be injured off an on every year.
-
masset start
I could live with everybody else's mistakes except Sisco. He is no good. Get rid of him now. I wish we had some veteran guy to eat innings.
-
I hate to do this but....
Probably too early to b**** too much, but the team hasn't exactly lit anything on fire since all star break of last season.
-
Crede Update
I know a guy who had "simple" back surgery. He now uses a cane, can barely walk and is 27 years old with 2 little kids. Sucks. The back is nothing to mess with knife wise. Joe's career may be over cause if I was him I would not have back surgery.
-
masset start
Good call, El Rockin! As somebody who figured Masset would get pounded today, I eat my words. Great effort, Masset! If he can pitch like that in relief, man would he be a nice set up man! I'd give him the set up man job now til he blows a couple games.

I hate to do this but....
Your declaration was not needed nor accurate. It's mid May and the offense has been horrible. The relief pitching has been terrible except for Bobby. Have you been cheering wildly when MacD and Sisco are banging baseballs off our catcher's shinguards and walking everybody in sight and the lineup has hit .220? Those of us who figured we'd get swept also have praised the starting pitching. The team has been waddling around .500 a long time now. We're still Sox fans. But we have the right to b**** a bit with mediocre newcomer Erstad leading what has been a pathetic lineup. If you want whining and b****ing go see a Yankee fan. I saw one b****ing about A-Rod making an out during his hot streak in April. GO SOX!
