I don't think it matters either way. Detroit punished the Cubs and is rolling along. We're doing well also, including taking 2 of 3 from Det last time we played. If Detroit keeps getting good pitching, the Tigers will be in it all the way. It'd be nice to see Kenny Rogers run out of gas or something. His performance is really big for that team.

That's awesome Garland hit a home run. Congrats to Garland. I wonder if it'll shut up some of those who think he's worhty of a Judy nickname. No Judy could hit a home run in a major league game. Garland was awesome today. Again. Allows four hits in eight innings, improves to 6-3 and hits a homer. Nice.

Exactly, it would be huge if the suckass Cubs could have won the first two games of that series while we beat Cincy the first two. It all counts.

I think everybody hopes this is the real Brian. As horrific as he's hit, everybody seems to want him to excel. It would be amazing if he's come around and can hit .280 the rest of the season.

I wouldn't count on a sweep. Sometimes the Sox don't quite finish business against teams like the Rays and the Royals.

I don't think any loss this season will be "demoralizing" to the Sox. They are fricking world champs. Their psyche is not as fragile as some think. If we lose we lose, but not because of any one demoralizing thing. The Scrubs had something "demoralizing" happen when they lost their first baseman. One game is one game to the world champs.

I'm amazed we've kept close in the standings to Detroit as torrid as the Tigers have been. We need to ride out the Tigers' amazing streak. They could be 7 up on us if we hadn't been winning 2 of every 3 of late. Is Det gonna sweep the s*** Rays as they did that 4 game series with KC???

I agree. Watching on TV, I loved our rally tonight in the ninth, but I couldn't help but be mad at all the runs Fred gave up earlier that cost us the game on massive home run shots. I'm still concerned because I don't think we just now developed a winning attitude. I like you think we've had it all year and the team still has some major on the field question marks.

I figure if you commit to go to a game, you are there for the long haul. Too much can happen, like tonight. Of course two hour rain delays and all that ... it might be time to leave. That's stupid to sit 3 hours waiting when you know more rain is coming, etc.
