I Got a C
Go meet with your teacher and explain your love of the team and I bet you'll get a B.

Hermanson
People should balk at any back surgery. I know a guy who had a simple back procedure they hit the spinal cord and now he has to limp and use a cane. He was paralyzed 6 months. Has wife and two babies. Backs are sensitive.

free agent wish list
I wouldn't mind Graffy over Blum but obviously Blum would be welcome back after blasting that home run in the Series. Also how about Paul Byrd as a middle reliever or spot starter? Seriously wouldn't graffy be great or would he jinx us?

Okay, I KNOW I'm Not Supposed To, But
Thanks to the guy for exposing mariotti for what a simplistic columnist he is. You have to have SOME perspective. To change your mind as many times as he did this past offseason and season is utterly insane. I think the guy should be fired to tell you the truth. I mean how can a lead columnist change his mind so many times? It shows he has no true judgment, no true expertise. He's just trying to inflame when things are going bad; and praise when he has to. He is writing like we indeed all have 6th grade education which supposedly is the average reader's education. WE SEE THROUGH YOU JAY. Give me a more boring columnist (yes the guy can write) with some true perspective folks, like the guy at the Southtown and the Trib. They are not as good a writers as Jay but I trust them a lot more. That blog item was priceless.

Politte's option exercised, Everett's Declined
If the Royals were smart they'd acquire Carl.

Own up!
I never wanted to trade Joe, but I will admit to these mistakes --Thought Kenny was a buffoon early in his tenure. Sorry for doubting this genius. --Hated Blum and thought he was worthless. Big home run, sir, I'll never rip you again just for that. --Never a big Everett guy. Great season, Carl. --Hated Viz. Pitched well in postseason. --Not a big Bobby believer, wanted hermy. We coudn't a done it without you, Bobby. GO SOX!

ESPN: "It sounds like Paul Konerko plans to stay"
Maybe he's one of the rare guys who decides to make a decision based on happiness and comfort level more than ONLY money. If he does this, he might be the first to actually become a free agent and stay. He'll be a legend in chitown forever if he stays unless he suddenly becomes a .190 hitter or something wacky like that. s***, just his last name says chicago even though he didn't grow up here. Konerko and Ditka!

Sox will face the Braves in 2 exhibition games
Maybe the Braves want to learn from us how to actually get it done in the postseason. Kidding. But I was thinking the other day: Isn't it nice when a Chicago team finally makes the finals that the team gets the job done? The Bulls never lost a championship series if I'm not mistaken. Each of their titles came without losing a Finals first. Same with the Sox. Finally got to the World Series and completed the deal. None of this happy to be there, learn from it and try to get em next time around. I'm glad we got it done with no regrets.

White Sox Withdrawl
I'm glad it's over just because it was SO INTENSE all over September through October. I agree it'd be neat to have a White Sox history channel where they'd replay games all winter from past seasons. To sell it, OK, I could handle it being a Sox/Cubs history channel and replay Cub games too. I might even watch some of those Cub games from the 69 season just to see Banks and hear Brickhouse. I'd love to watch some of the Sox games of the 70s broadcats by Harry before he jumped to the North side.

Opening Day, April of 06.
who do we play opening day? Who will be the starting pitcher? Where's the game thread? just kidding, except for the "who do we play" question.

The White Sox
It is great to realize we have a whole winter to enjoy this. If it gets too cold out, just think of the Sox and their amazing postseason run.

AL Lopez
That is truly amazing. He was giving quotes in USA today about how happy he was for the Sox and the city. This proves again there IS a God. God let him hang around til the Sox won. Now he'll be in heaven reporting to all the Sox fans up there about how the Sox did it in 05. Amazing. Rest in peace, Senor Lopez. Say hi to ALL the Sox fans up there who didn't get to stick around as you did to see it.

Retired Number/Left Field Wall of Fame
I think Ozzie's image will be tarnished in years to come as Sox seasons fail to live up to this one. Look how quickly things turned around in Florida, for instance. Oz's image will never be tarnished in Chicago unless he gets arrested or something for some crime that he'll never commit. Oz led Chicago to a world series title, first in 80 plus years. He's like Ditka now. And yes, hang that No. 13 in the future; like you said he led the Sox to a world championship after a very good career as a player; he's IN.

SNL Tonight
THis was a great thread. I laughed at everybody's hatred of that pathetic show. Gawd was that show horrific. I thought that one new guy, Jason Sudeikis out of Second City, has potential. He was in that bad skit at the end about "Sharon" that guy in drag. The straight man in the skit. Has there ever been a funny skit when fat guys dress as women? I wish TV would kill any skits with guys dressing as women. NEVER FUNNY except maybe Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman which wasn't that good.

Konerko defends Sox, looks ahead
Beltran is a perfect example of a guy who picked the wrong team for money reasons. He'd have been perfect in Houston forever. But he needed to take the big bucks. I think the big story here is the guy who posted that Konerko is feeling pressure from the union to take the best offer. I believe that fully. So he's gone. We aren't going to offer him the most. Jerry will make a good offer, but it won't be the best offer and he'll leave.

SNL Tonight
I'm gonna have to watch; i bet they gotta do a "Da Sox."
-
Dick Allen
Dick Allen hit the farthest homer I've ever seen. But I love the current Sox way more than Dick Allen. THough he was great.

Jonny Damon to wear White Sox?
I used to be a Damon guy, no longer. Pass please.

Konerko defends Sox, looks ahead
“Paul lives in Arizona and probably would prefer something near there but he wants to play on a good, contending team, for a manager he likes and in a city he likes, plus he wants a deal for as much length as possible, like five, six or seven years,” agent Craig Landis said yesterday. I take this as "he gawn." We won't give him as many years as the Angels or BoSox. That comment by Melton is awesome. That truly is the case. The agents and players union can't have players taking less to stay in a city they like. It's not been done much and Paulie will take the best offer like they all do IMO. Whatever ... he was a god and I'll always like him but I betcha we lose him.

Konerko defends Sox, looks ahead
That said, I am not in favor of them doing something unreasonable to get him back. He is not the face of the franchise, Ozzie Guillen is. --Paulie though is the face of the World Championship team. We really do have to keep him. I can understand why he wants an extra two mill a year but I tell you sometimes players should just f***ing stay put. If Paulie stays here for 2 mill less than the damn Angels, Paulie remains a Chicago icon FOREVER. When he retires, he works here on TV in some capacity and all that. I realize players don't think this way but in his case, his career took off in Chicago and he pretty much sucked everywhere else. It would benefit him to stay (even if he doesn't realize it and wants 2 mill more a year) because after he retires, he's assured Ditka and Oz-like status. He led us to a World Series and Chicagoans will never forget that. s***, endorsements, et. all in Chicago will set him up forever. But I do understand players almost ALWAYS take the best offer and I guess I expect him to do the same. He should take Jerry's offer, it's going to be a good one, and stay here and be a happy ICON forever.

The Evolution Of Joe Crede
Hopefully that bomb off Oswalt to Right is a good sign of a new approach That's what i was thinking. His season is a total success in my mind just because of how he played down the stretch when it counted. He's one of my favorite Sox now because of that Brooks Robinson like defense in the big games coupled with those hits. He made the most of his five series hits.

Talk about leaving out pertinent information...
BTW, am I the only one who thinks that kissing another famil member on the lips is weird? I don't think it's weird. When I've seen that, I think it's special a dad and son still do that even when they grow up. My dad barely gives a handshake, different generation. But I think it's cool when they kiss. Family is everything.
