How do you guys feel about Ronny Santo?
How bad was he as a Sox? I thought he bashed quite a few homers.

Trade maggs to LA?
"Maggs is not worth the money he is payed" --Talk about taking for granted what we have here. Maggs had an awesome awesome year and is one of the top players in the f***ing league. Pls show Maggs some respect.

Trade maggs to LA?
I really do understand economic stuff. But again .... Magglio belongs in a Sox uniform, period. I just wish Dork would sell the team. We're never going to make the playoffs/Series with the attitude of signing studs for one year like Colon then letting them go, etc.

How do you guys feel about Ronny Santo?
Don't forget, he played for our Sox, too. I love Santo. That interview he did with Mike shannon I heard one night had me captivated for 40 minutes. His stories about getting drunk with Drysdale and his disease were unreal.

Trade maggs to LA?
I really don't want to see maggs playing for any other team. Yes I understand all the economic realities, etc. But Maggs is a f***ing star. Why do we have to trade him?

In your heart of hearts...
I grew up in Chicago, but have moved away for many years. For some reason I want the Cubs to win for the sake of the city. I would like to see the hex end. But I have gotten no joy out of them winning, of course. I have many friends violently opposed to this. They are rooting wildly against the Cubs, but I tend to think it's good for the city if they win. Is everybody on here adamantly against the Cubs? I don't follow their team at all, but I am not against the idea of the Cubs winning it.

Soxtalk.com You Decide!
I want Dusty Baker. What a joke. The Cubs are no good and they are right there. Thanks, JM for nothing. p.s. Of those two choices I'll take Ozz.

Foulke cannot close big games
Didn't Foulke pitch 3 or 4 innings in the first game of the series? What was that all about?

Would we have lost to Yanks, too?
We kept saying that we had a team built for the postseason. Would we have suffered the same fate as the Twins vs. NY? Does anybody remember our rotation and how it would have set up for the postseason? What do you think? Would we have beaten NY or gotten clubbed like the Twins? The Twins were awfully hot and still sucked vs. NY.

Favirote Sox memory
El Rockin, that is an amazing, amazing story. That would be a good column for a Trib writer some offseason on a slow day. That is amazing Stanky would write you so many times. Amazing!!

Traitor Daley
I give the mayor credit. In USA Today I get in KC he said, "I am a White Sox fan." I mean he said that then said he the Cubs had good fans. Folks da mayor was sending us a message. Don't turn on him. We Sox fans are too smart for that. He was saying, I love the White Sox. We all know the guy has to show up and support the City of Chicago. But he was letting us know he's a Sox fan thru and thru. Read between the lines folks, it was in USA Today.

Bye Bye Bartolo?
We're doomed to lose Colon cause apparently he's become one of these guys teams must have. Teams means the Yanks or Phils or Bosox or one of the ones who will overspend. That's another reason I wanted to win it this year so badly. We lose Colon. That really is gonna be a major loss unless one of our younguns turns into Pryor.

Favirote Sox memory
Too many memories to mention in Old Comiskey, but I do remember my last game the final year of Comiskey Park. Was it 1990 like you said? The Sox were playing Cleveland in one of the last games in the stadium and it was a s***ty game and I think the Sox trailed 7-1 in the ninth. With one out I got up with friends and left a Sox game early for the first time ever. I think it was pretty cold and the game was one of those that lasted forever and it really was a lousy game. I think I kissed one of those poles that obstructed the view in the lower level grandstand and we bid our goodbyes and left. I knew I would miss that great ballpark. I still like watching that movie on TV with that fat comic who died when they have the picnic on the Comiskey infield. John Candy. Comiskey was great when it was packed but it was sort of cool when it was empty too. That isn't my favorite memory. I remember the Royals leading the Sox 4-0 in the first inning one time and the Sox got 5 in the bottom of the first before a packed house and the place went mad. That might be the loudest I ever heard it in there.

Bye Bye Bartolo?
I like him a lot and will miss him but that's too much money. Let the Yanks have him. Teams will never learn. He's one pitch from being done like all pitchers. That's just too much money at 12.5 mill a year or whatever. Have fun with the Yanks Mr. Colon.

Lets wait on Torre
I agree with yasny. there'd be instant credibility and respect. we might win it all with him. But I see no chance of it happening so I shall shut up.
-
Carlos Lee
I love CLee. To those of you who get to watch a lot of games, is his defense acceptible? Can he play LF on a World Series team? Or is it still horrific? I was under the impression it's a bit better than last year.

Cito looks to have the edge
Cito sounds like a good choice. At least he has experience like you say. Bring on Cito. p.s. I hope DJ wasn't lying just to be nice, and tells Kenny if he doesn't really believe what he told the newspaper writer.

Why Baseball is the greatest sport.
Good post, bmr. I'm glad we all agree baseball is the best. I always say the best day of the year is Opening Day and the worst day of the year is that Sunday when there is no more ball, unless of course we make the playoffs. The first day of spring training ain't a bad day, either.

Lets wait on Torre
Is this a pipe dream or do you agree George will probably fire Torre if the Yanks lose to Minn? Unless Torre is burned out and might want to be an announcer (who could blame him?) wouldn't he be great for our SOX?? Let's face it, George will probably axe him if the Yanks get swept by Minnie. I'd take Joe in a heartbeat, you guys n girls?

My offseason wish list
Good point, but I wouldn't mind seeing Robbie come back. And Jose V. did whack what, 28 hrs? That isn't too bad. I would like to acquire Guzman somehow. Is he a FA?
-
Frank Thomas
Six mill ain't too bad. Think anybody will offer him more? No offense to Frank, but he's not too spiffy at first base, so that eliminates the NL. Maybe Baltimore will fork over the dough.

There Is A God......
I thought we'd all pretty much agreed he wasn't the worst manager in Sox history and we liked him as a person. Why blast him so much? Our players at times underachieved on their own I'm sure. Though I do agree we need a new skipper. But if it's Buddy Bell, we've gained nothing.
-
Frank Thomas
I don't think Frank wants to go anywhere. He's comfortable here. Do you all agree? I'd say he doesn't want to mess with another city.
