  1. This Padre pitcher is throwing meat! And Carlos just blasted a homer after fouling off a meat pitch. Way to go Carlos! Nice blast.
  2. That sucks the Pods scored a run on a pick off.
  3. I agree with soxchick. Show Mark B some slack.

AR has had all the minor league seasoning he needs. I could care less if he rots on the bench or plays a lot, but it's time he sinks or swims in the majors. He's old enough.
  5. Jose really screwed up on that one, wonder what he was thinking? Hope that doesn't cost us the game.
  6. IMO: We are going nowhere if we don't start doing what the smart teams do, trade lower prospects for good players who will command many dollars. i.e. trade 3 prospects who are not going to pan out to the Royals for Beltran, etc. I'm sick of us trading established players. Good GMs pull off the kind of trades I am referring to.
  7. OK JR, complete the equation. Casey Stengel couldn't manage this team the way we've been hitting. Well ... who brought in these players or is responsible for them now ... KW. So fire KW
  8. The problem is we draw so few fans the players can hear each boo individually. I don't blame Mark B. He's like the average worker who never gets praised when he does well by his bosses and takes mega s*** when he fails. That condition of humankind does suck. A lot of his tremendous victories the past couple years in his mind were taken grant of, but I feel I can speak for most of us in saying we respected each and every one of those outings. Mark B had me shaking my head the past two years as he piled up victory after victory. I agree with Yasny that he doesn't deserve boos at this time.
  9. If I come back home this summer to chicago I'll have to ask you guys if you have any freebies. There could be lotsa freebies rolling around in late July, early Aug. when I'll probably be back.
  10. Technically this is a come from behind win and those are always nice, right? We'll take it.
  11. Jerry (Reinsdork) is the idiot, but how can we argue with leaving in Colon. He's been finishing games.
  12. I don't blame him for being frustrated at booing. It sounds like that's it ... the booing. It's obvious we're going to run him out of town now and he'll excel somewhere else. They'll probably boo him when he has a bad inning in his new city, too, but that's besides the point.
  13. Tough tough loss. But it's simple, right? A good team beat a bad team tonight.
  14. Very good point. The Cubbies might no hit us. We ain't gonna beat those pitchers.
  15. He might be one of those guys we have to keep forever in case he turns into Clemens. He sure has some good outings spliced with the abysmal.
  16. Who'd a thunk it? He's well on his way to 20 losses. I haven't seen many games on TV. What's the problem? Why's he losing every time out? Is it him or our s*** team behind him?
  17. I agree no way we are gonna finish 18 over .500. With our hitting and defense I'd say five over .500 would be a miracle. I was just wondering if it was possible we were gonna start hitting. Then all bets would be off.
  18. Good points soxchick. My only hope is somehow we've begun to hit. Do you concede that it's possible we might pull our heads out and hit like we were supposed to on paper? Cause you gotta admit if we can get nine to 11 hits a night, with our pitching, we'll probably at least play .550 ball. Our defense is not too spiffy so without hitting we are dead meat.
  19. Olivo's basically playing every day ain't he? I like that.
  20. Maybe this makes up for that deal where KW thought he was acquiring one player and acquired some other hoser with the same name. I'd like to see him hit 33 homers in the bigs like he did in that minor league season you posted.
  21. Nine hits is a lot better than five. We win again. Sounds like Garland pitched well. Did he?
  22. Odds are we will revert back to our old ways, but it'd be nice to somehow score 7-10 again and show some signs of life.
  23. Is Aaron running out of chances? Is this gonna be it for him?
  24. I agree we should sign him for three years. I mean our hitting sucks this year; if we let pitchers go, our pitching could suck next year. It's a vicious circle. Keep the good players and trade prospects for veteran players.
  25. I thought Frank's attitude this year has been great since reading that column by Couch in the Sun Times where it talked about Frank being friendly again. I root for Frank. It's especially nice when he's not making selfish quotes as in the past. Paulie is just sucking pure and simple. I still like him but when's he gonna hit.
