  1. That's good news coming from ptatc. At least Eloy will be Eloy-ing in the future, crushing the ball.
  2. Amen brother. Collins, Vaughn, Madrigal really need to produce at their highest levels at this stage of their development and like you said, the vets can't afford to struggle. Grandal and Jose baby, start raking.
  3. Indeed, I told my Royals friends that they no longer have to fear the Sox. Today was a big step in the right direction for KC and Cleveland.
  4. One thing is for sure. If Grandal and Jose don't start really raking and Vaughn and Collins carry their weight, Sox lineup is gonna be anemic.
  5. I agree. I am thinking this is really really bad concerning his long term ability and availability. It's the saddest news in Chicago sports in a long time.
  6. Sorry to be a pessimistic jerk but this really really bums me out. Robert is an amazing physical specimen and baseball prospect. Wiped out for the season. So much talent. Feels wrong to care about how this impacts the team, but it is devastating to the Sox unless Adam Engel is some sort of phenom in the making. Sad sad day. Bless you and best wishes Luis Robert.
  7. I see it as a growing problem. White Sox have some amazing athletes who tend to suffer injuries especially in cold weather. I know all teams suffer injuries but this may be something that stunts the Sox completing the rebuild with 2-3 world championships or a run similar to the Blackhawks run not too many years ago. Sox are not deep enough to survive Robert's absence with an automatic out.
  8. The Robert injury saddens me, though. I don't like Sox chances of competing this year considering they already played without Timmy for a couple weeks and Eloy is out for the season. I do not think the Sox can win big this season without Robert and Eloy. The lineup has taken a HUGE hit. My guess is if Abreu and Grandal get white-hot that could help, but the Sox lineup is really a fraction of what we all thought it could be now with Robert and Eloy both out.
  9. I feel sorry for our guys. They are such physically impressive specimens they get hurt going all out. Look how fast Robert was running. He was really hustling. Eloy tries to rob a home run. Extra effort and he's out for a long time. This is a huge loss for the Sox if he's out a few months or the rest of the season. You take away Robert and Eloy and my own opinion is it's not a playoff team anymore.
  10. yeah but Keuchel makes top dollar and frankly you should win the pitchers duel at home. If you concede games with Dallas pitching, why pick him up in the first place?
  11. Tony should copy George Costanza and do the opposite of what he's thinking. Vaughn probably woulda hit into a DP or struck out but look what ultimately happened. Three easy outs and the dull end to a home loss. Maybe Vaughn would have connected for a gapper.
  12. I wonder if this will be Tony's first explosion when media asks him about batting for Vaughn. They know why he did it but have to ask. Tony wanted to move the line with singles then have Timmy hit a gapper.
  13. Terrible loss but Sox still have best team in the division and at some point will take off.
  14. Tony blew it. It's either adapt to the HR and K mentality or go against the Sox analytics. Vaughn might have hit one deep. Leury as Fathom noted would pound a grounder.
  15. I want a balanced schedule. More fun. ... Sox bats are great some nights, still not heating up consistently. My guy, Jose, is not quite there yet.
  16. Holy bleep. What a blast. AL MVP for the month of April.
  17. How many coaches did Tony keep off Ricky's staff? McEwing was a coach last year, right?
  18. Leury deserves to be interviewed postgame and dunked with water.
  19. Love me some Vaughn. He really gets the meat part of the bat on the ball. Heavens.
  20. Is he hurt? I missed it.
  21. My bad. I need an attitude adjustment sometimes, too. For some reason I have a negative vibe on Lamb. I need to judge him on what he does in each game and give the guy a break.
  22. Stoney's tweets about the team are the tweets of a reasonable man/fan/announcer. Got to look at the big picture. (I can see why last night's game would bring out the worst in posters, though; it's unbearable to watch your team lose a game when the opponent commits five errors; has anybody looked up whether that's ever happened before?)
  23. Bad losses like last night's are going to happen. I personally am upset whenever I see Lamb's name in the lineup over Vaughn. However the Sox have put together a team that should make the playoffs again this year. This board is full of smart baseball minds who shouldn't live and die with each game, each run scored. The Sox are going to lose a lot of games but still should make the playoffs. I know die-hard fans rarely "enjoy the ride," but they should try. As far as LaRussa, my observation is like most managers, he's going to be ripped after virtually every loss, except the one loss that follows a long winning streak. You can criticize his Sunday lineups without wishing harm to him. It's just a damn game, folks. The only games to completely freak out at are ones in the playoffs like last year when Ricky pulled Dunning after 15 pitches. That was arguably one of the worst decisions in managing history (not hyperbole). It's OK to say Ricky was incompetent based on that decision but not OK to say he deserves bodily harm. It's still just a game. Why can't people think of Randy Quaid in Major League when they start losing it during close games or losses? That character stands up as the crazy baseball fan.
  24. Quite a weird school. Thanx for the paragraph.
  25. Stuff happens. Sox had a lousy game offensively and Tigers were due after losing 4 in a row to KC. Inexcusable to take divisional teams lightly. It'd be nice to beat all bad teams at home, but games like this will happen. If Sox lose to Detroit again tomorrow I hope Tony does remind the guys there is a totally unbalanced schedule and Sox simply have to dominate weaker teams in their own division. I know it's hard to get up for Detroit, et. all, but cmon, play better when the opponent commits five errors. Stuff happens though and tonight was just one of those lousy games. Too many games like tonight and Sox won't be going to the playoffs. Sox can afford to have a few stinkers.
