  1. With all due respect, just enjoy Bennetti and Stoney. They are very very good and we are spoiled. Sox announcers have always been outstanding.
  2. No bunting. No DP. Thank you.
  3. Base hit.
  4. I sort of like Madrigal and I was furious when Sox drafted him so high.
  5. Captain obvious (me): Sox starters need to start working at least 6 1/3 innings for Sox to win anything of note this year. Sox bullpen cannot cover the final 4 or 5 innings effectively. Hitting will be amazing when it heats up; hope the pitching follows suit. -- I know everybody will disagree with me but I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox give up on Marshall. I am not a fan.
  6. So sorry this is happening. Best wishes for both of you.
  7. Thank you. I feel like I'm letting down my body. I haven't had the flu in 10 or more years thanks to getting the vaccine and now I'm about to voluntarily likely make myself sick. I just hope the symptoms aren't awful. I remember in the old days of getting the flu how horrid the chills are as well as puking.
  8. After taking the day off did she suddenly improve the following day? Did she just suddenly start feeling better on Day Two or is it a gradual process where you stay sick a while like with a flu/cold? At what point should you go to emergency room if things don't improve? My shot No. 2 is approaching and I am concerned about symptoms.
  9. Sox are better equipped for 7 inning games right now. You are right. Sox starters have to pitch 6 1/3 innings minimum at some point in nine inning games.
  10. Nice win. I just watched the highlights. Three prodigious home runs. Glad to see Jose and Grandal connect. Robert is hitting over .300. Nice. The usual parade of pitchers to the mound. Rodon having a nice start to season. Nice job again, walked several guys. I assume the umps as usual didn't call belt high fastballs strikes. I usually don't blame the pitchers.
  11. You mean in comparing Timmy to Manny Sanguillen? Being a comparison guy? Or being positive. El Rockin is the most positive poster in history. I'd love to be known as dat.
  12. I can't imagine being a GM and owner nowadays. Pitchers' arms are so brittle, no fault of their own. How can any team justify giving good money to any pitcher when it's almost certain the pitcher is going to get hurt a lot?
  13. I didn't watch the game so I can only lament the box score. What happened to Gio? It seems in modern baseball, good pitchers are capable of horrendous outings way more than in the past. Are hitters that good nowadays that pitchers are going to get hammered every once in a while?
  14. Great sweep on the road. Certainly it's been a while since the Sox have swept a DH, especially on the road. Looks like Yermin is last year's Abreu. He's gonna be the guy who produces all year long (knock on wood, etc.). And Tim is at the stage of his career he's going to produce almost every single day as well (knock on wood, etc.). Everybody else is gonna have to get hot at some point and probably will.
  15. Good job Hendriks. Sox are better equipped to win 7 inning games right now til the starters start working deeper into games (aside from the no no). Nice win in Boston.
  16. If this is true, it's alarming. You'd think he remembers how he hit in college.
  17. Collins 4 for 28 for a .143. BA with two walks and 5 RBI. Vaughn 4 for 25 with six walks and 1 RBI Jose hitting .208 with two HRs, 10 walks, 10 RBI. Eight of the RBI are off his two grand slams. I could go on, but I'm disappointed in some of the guys' hitting.
  18. I'll admit this slow start is kind of sad/annoying. So many guys starting slowly plus the injuries to TA (he's back) and Eloy have killed the Sox so far. Team doesn't pass the eye test yet.
  19. I think it's Jose of course. My Mr. White Sox of all time: Minoso, just as Banks is Mr. Cub, Minnie is Mr. Sox.
  20. Was there any more room in the row? You or the guy shoulda moved maybe. I couldn't sit next to a stranger like that in the age of COVID and it's just kinda creepy.
  21. I never despised Rodon. Not a strong opinion. I am just astounded and happy about the other night. Man he had good stuff through the ninth inning. Wow.
  22. People who have a good grasp on their own mental/emotional states of mind can call us babies or worse, but some of us are worried about the vaccines. We are worried we are injecting some things that may cause severe side effects voluntarily and may regret it someday. There's not enough town halls or people talking about their own reactions to the shots to assure those of us that are fearful. Maybe we are babies but we have gotten the flu shot for years with no symptoms and don't want our bodies to break down because of us voluntarily putting vaccines in our body. My 30 year old cousin fainted and is still sick five days later. Some have gotten blood clots. I think there should be more education and discussion about the shots. Personally I will never trust the government again after some things that have occurred over the last 14 months. That said ... for society I took shot No. 1 moderna as soon as I got the call. I will accept shot No. 2 when they call. I pray I have no symptoms especially since truthfully I don't want the shots. My stance should anger nobody. It's my own personal battle mentally. I AM GETTING fully vaccinated as soon as humanly possible for society. The strategy you mention should be a kinder, gentler approach to all this. I talked to a lady at church who is normally calm and seemed normal. She freaked when I asked about the vaccine. Said no way in hell she'll ever get vaccinated. You could see fear in her eyes. I tried to hold a discussion of what I know and she would have none of it. Shook her head violently. No shot.
  23. Abreu seems to be pressing at the plate. Maybe not, just seems that way. Unfortunately he may not heat up til the weather does. I'm just gonna stay patient. As long as team doesn't fall five under .500 or something. That would be really bad. Better only be 1 or 2 under .500 or 1 or 2 over til Sox get hot. None of this five under .500.
  24. That was great. Congrats Rodon. I enjoyed watching him throw smoke in the ninth, too. ... And Yermin is too much to believe. Appears to be a natural hitter. Just play him every day with a few days off the rest of the season and see what we've got. He's amazing. Kudos to Rodon though.
  25. The game was very boring. I don't know if it's permanent, but I also find myself not getting upset at this team anymore. Sox are supposed to be great, fine, let's see if it comes to fruition or not. As a viewer I also had no interest in watching Lamb and Nick Williams, though. Yes the loss of TA and Engel hurt. I think the lineup will heat up when TA comes back. The loss of Eloy is so bad. I'd have loved to see this lineup with Eloy and TA all season.
