Monday night in New York. Looters raiding Macy's and other stores. Looks like NYC is in trouble tonight.

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
The players want 100 plus games? Yes! Adopt that. That would be so cool to get that many games out of the 2020 season. Game after game til Halloween, then the playoffs? Yes!

Amen. And those people must be stopped. The ones who are organized from afar and there to cause chaos and destroy a city.

George Floyd Thread
At the risk of getting this topic closed, and getting in trouble, can I ask if I'm allowed to be sad when I see the city of Chicago torched and graffittied and shattered (windows) and looted and see my city of Kansas City torched and graffittied and shattered (windows)? Two beautiful cities being assaulted? I've watched two of Martin Luther King's closest relatives on TV saying he would be so sad at this. And I am of the opinion the troublemakers for the most part are planted in cities to cause as much destruction as they can. I am a believer in things can change if we don't give up and we can achieve change and justice without violence. Seeing a mob of white kids (the video I saw they were white kids) destroy a mall gleefully over the pretense of protest in Scottsdale, Arizona actually makes me sad. I wish people would listen to Martin Luther King's living relatives and how sad they are too. Don't worry, this is my only post on the matter as I pray for everybody's safety in the United States.

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
They are going to have a rule on protocol. I wonder if there have been any leaks in the media on what the rule will be. I haven't heard one good solution on how to handle that. I mean the way they are treating the reopening of our library is so fricking intense and involving making it as pristine as a hospital ICU unit before opening ... I'd think some industry such as baseball would shut down that team for 2 weeks if somebody is positive. I would think if we have some cases of players during the upcoming spring training they'll just cancel the season. What is their other option? Let's say a player gets it and testing shows one other player has it ... how can they just ignore it and play ball even though there are so few deaths in that age range? If there is a plan I haven't seen it.

Illinois governor tonight was subject of a report on that station nobody seems to like (FOX News) as the governor who has proven to be one of the most power hungry governors during COVID. Michigan and Cali up there too. The piece did not present him in a positive light. Just wondered how you all would rate his performance during COVID 1 through 10. I know Illinois is losing a lot of population because of taxes; If and I say IF he's perceived as a bad governor, maybe even more will bolt from the city and state. Don't shoot the messenger; just saying what tonight's report was on TV. I'd give the Kansas governor a 3 out of 10.

Serious situation in Minneapolis. Been reading Wed night about looting and angry people in the streets and in front of houses of different people involved in the shooting and the prosecution of the impending case. Stay safe and may justice be served as soon as legally possible.

There are so many self interests involved do you trust anybody? I don't. Why should I? There's so much corruption in everything. Look at Illinois politics through the years. Look at sports. I wish we could trust people. Bots, foreign countries planting stuff on our social media. Democrats/Republicans doing anything to make the other side look bad. Racists. Deaths caused by police on their own citizens. God help us learn the truth.

Thanks for the sugestions. I will try to abide. If I am allowed a quick rebuttal. To No. 1: When is the last time I mentioned Rush or a Trump tweet. Geez. I can't believe how despised I am. But it is what it is. As Sally Field would say, "You hate me. You hate me."

I should take a vote and see if a majority of people want me to resist commenting on politics and COVID-19 corona or continue commenting. I do not wish to ruin days of people by my posts, but I do rather enjoy posting my feelings as it helps me get my anger off my chest during lockdown.

Are the new projections terrible for Texas this summer? Haven't read that yet albeit I've not read everything. Scary if COVID isn't abating during the summer months cause my greg "eyetest" and my past history tells me a whole lotta people get viruses during the winter. OMGosh a whole lot. No matter WHAT I do, I get three horrific cough/colds each winter. And plane travel?? Immediate germs/colds/coughs. God help us all if COVID is disastrous this summer cause we know what's coming.

As far as bringing up the same stuff, that confuses me. Most of my posts are responding to current news reports and how mad I am as a result of whatever was said on them.

Thank you, sir. I wish we could return to sports and "play ball." Or "drop the puck." Politics and corona are important but we need sports.

They sure don't seem to be in any hurry. They're going to talk Friday?? Geez, the clock keeps ticking on the summer. Maybe it'd help if NHL gets the puck rolling with its 24 team tourney format. Get it going, NBA, NHL, MLB, please.

PM me if you have specific questions that I haven't addressed on here. I think I address a lot of questions. Bottom line: I am a huge huge Sox fan who is passionate about "some" world and U.S. issues. That is all. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but when I discuss things with people in person I don't get the huge disgust I get from some on here. I also try to be polite. Note I haven't mentioned hair or any personal annoyances since I got my hair cut. Issue SOLVED finally by the government opening up.

Hmmm, there are some in between. The people who are a.) starving and homeless from this. b.) confused and scared how they are supposed to feed their 3 kids when they've been laid off work and the mortgage is beyond due and the refrigerator is empty and the credit cards maxed.

Hanging in effigy? Not good. I think it's inciting violence and should be illegal. I know we have rights to free speech but that's sort of "inciting a riot." We need to start working together, but the Congressmen and women and Trump and Pelosi are setting the tone there. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT; we can't work together. We need to work together before it's too late. (Both sides are at fault; some politicians are way too bossy and power hungry and rude and have angered a lot of people who need to feed their families; also many people are at fault; unwilling to talk it out calmly instead screaming and grabbing their guns for protests).

Let's face it. You don't like folks with differing opinions. Trust me, I read all points on here and I do respond to points made. That's usually when I get caught up and you see five posts in a row from me. They are all responding to points made. Look. I hate masks and I am for opening the economy. That puts me at odds with many many many on here. Reiterating the same points? Look at all the posts on Trump on here. As much as I railed on Kamala and Warren and Abrams, others rail on Trump over and over. it's all relative to what you believe folks and most folks disagree with my positions. Remember I'm a Bernie and Tulsi guy. How many of you are? I am a Jesse Ventura/Huckabee/Joe Rogan/Howard Stern guy. You folks likely aren't. We could go down the line and we'd see how my strong feelings are not shared by too many.

So more fake news. Why bother to watch anything? Watch the video and Fauci is forcefully saying masks are not needed. Now he's saying they are needed? I give up.

Harris? Please say it isn't so. Anybody but Kamala or Abrams as VEEP. ... Also you called Joe "folksy?" You are off your game today, Caulfield. Joe is coming across as mean (he's screaming out his answers too forcefully with his, "Hey man" start to some answers. Should get interesting if the questions ever get difficult if they ever ask him about Ukraine and his son and his arrogant statement on the Breakfast Club. It's unfair he can get away with the "you ain't black" stuff when several careers of people on TV have been ruined by statements deemed racist. And nobody accused of what he's been accused of (yes Trump is accused of even more incidents) can be called "folksy." I don't despise Joe as I did HIllary but I"m not a fan. BTW, Hillary made a BIG MISTAKE in her campaign not going on the Stern show. Ever since her hour-long appearance this year, I don't hate her nearly as much. If she'd have gone on with Howard a couple times she'd have won voters like me. Instead we were left to "despise" her for the reasons I mentioned last election cycle. Play ball! Go Sox! Chet Lemon forever!

Why do u have to compare? I've heard some African Americans upset on TV at Joe's commets like Faulkner who was very upset. At one point does the media start covering this stuff. CNN has nothing on it. This is silly. Joe should face the critics on this one, not have it be swept away. Bernie quit way too early. Bernie should be the next president. Although somebody said his VEEP woulda been Abrams for sure.

How do u know he didn't go to church before the golf? He probably didn't but shouldn't jump to conclusions. My update: 25 people at 5 pm Mass. I wasn't crazy about the folks at the entrances being a little bossy. Why does everybody who gets a little "power" have to act so powerful, from politicians to guards at a church? Whatever happened to kindness? Anyhow ... no music at the Mass, though the organist played a solo of Ave Maria which was tear inducing. My mask was slipping off at Mass' end. It was a 30 minute Mass in a big church with just 25 peeps counting the workers and priest and altar server and organist. She played just the one song. When is McDonald's going to open up for regular hours? Once again some restaurants even though they are allowed to be open for peeps to use the outlets, they ain't open, just the drive through. I snuck in though to use the restroom after spending some time at the park. Of course the park restrooms are locked. Can't open them up, you know? Covid certainly lurks in there. Anyhow, Douglas County has 8 cases of corona. Should be an interesting case study when the athletes return. We could really spike in number when the athletes/students show. Finally, some blast me for going to a 25-person mass. Meanwhile, at the Ozarks ... LETS PARTY!!! https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/videos-crowded-lake-ozarks-party-165003815.html

Churches are hurting like most 'businesses.' You make a pledge but they don't kick you out for not paying up. This past month I heard our fulfilled pledges were scant. As far as the tax free thing ... college athletics are exempt too. Why not take the tax break if it's allowed? Our church for 40 years has been run by Cap Franciscans. Look them up. They have no possessions, none. Only exception is if they are a working pastor or priest then can have a car paid for by the parish. Not all churches are rolling in dough. Although have there been massive scandals? Sure.

Zech doesn't know squat. We make pledges every year and fulfill the pledge. They mail you envelopes. I put in money each week to fulfill the pledge. You don't have to make a pledge to be a member. Only something like 40 percent give any money. However, if you aren't a member you can't have a wedding there, etc. You have to sign up and be a member to use the services. I heard our church did OK in getting the pledge money the first month; last month people didn't fulfill their pledges much as we are not a rich parish and they needed the money for food, toilet paper. Yes churches are hurting for money. I'm sure some worse than others. I was upset the doors were slammed shut two months but I fulfilled my donation, calming down and realizing it wasn't their fault we were locked down. We also had and still are having virtual mass online for those uncomfortable going to Mass. Sure the churches need money. Sure we have problems like the lowlifes who abused kids and hopefully all got caught and are rotting in jail. But churches aren't opening only cause they need $$ although they do need cash and some probably will have to close for good now.
