I guess the "momentum" towards being competitive was just dumb luck?
I wonder who is gonna be the hero in 2023. After all that losing ... Moncada, Eloy, Timmy, Abreu, Robert all these guy by then are going to be so used to losing you wonder what is suddenly going to spark 90, 95, 110 wins. It's going to be bizarre. 2023 like I said ... by then wow Moncada will have lost a lot of ballgames in a Sox uniform to suddenly become a dominant team.

Sox @ Royals - 715pm CT
The positive sign is the most vocal fans on the board this year want to win and are mad when we lose. That calms my blood pressure. Those that want us to lose lose lose the second half to get a better draft pick are pretty much keeping it to themselves rather than actively rooting for losses on the board.

His trade for Eloy makes him untouchable. Great great trade. However as a caveat it's not a good sign the way Eloy got hurt twice this season. It's really going to be something if he tries to leg out a triple in cold weather some year or go after a shallow fly ball in left when 3B and SS are also converging. I wish him the best but it's scary.

All Star Jose Abreu
Pressure? This team hasn't had a pressure filled game in years. How much pressure can there be when losing is applauded.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
For some reason I get so mad when somebody wants to free up cash. Why in the hell did Hahn throw away so much money on Alonso and Nova and even Jon Jay. Jerry's wealth irritates me.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
There is no way Bummer is being traded; he's too much a White Sox. Cheap, under control, young. There's no way in hell he gets traded. He also doesn't have the initial pedigree. He was not an early round draft pick.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
If Reinsdorf wasn't making so much money ... please sir, for the sake of Chicago sell the damn team to somebody who will do it the right way: PAY, PAY, PAY for talent.

All Star Jose Abreu
He's not trying to suck and make outs no matter what you say. He is who he is.

Shake-up Needed in Coaching Staff, ASAP
Call me a dope, but any team that needs 6 or 7 years to rebuild off a tank job is an embarrassment to the sports world. An all-time embarrassment. Seven years is a long fricking time. One team can win it all. I'd rather do it MY WAY! The 2005 way.

Eloy going on IL
Very true. The guy is 22. Sorry, he is not going to be a DH. That's just silly. Can he stay healthy as a leftfielder? He should be able to if he gets his act together after gaining experience. Both injuries were preventable. A lot of our prospects are getting hurt. This is not a positive sign. With no Eloy and Timmy we ain't going to be winning (m)any road games the rest of the way. In hindsight none of us knew Eloy would have been better off spending another full year in the minors concentrating solely on defense with a personal coach. He does need work in LF. He's an MLB hitter, but not fielder. Wow. This better not be a serious injury but like somebody said the way things go with White Sox injuries, this could be a season-ender. I don't like the quote from Tilson about the arm angle.

Shake-up Needed in Coaching Staff, ASAP
Those who love the tank can deal with the fact that when we do tank we are one of the embarrassments in all of baseball. Sad to see a proud franchise have such a weak roster. We need better health with our upcoming prospects or this could be a Royals/Orioles like drought on our hands. I don't think we should fire Ricky just cause he did a marvelous job with this roster the first half. I mean if u were manager would you be confident we could win 55 games with this pitching staff?

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
My goodness: Why in the world would the Cubs want Jay and Osich? Acquiring Jay should be a fireable offense of any contender's GM.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
Are you one of those guys who thinks you have the only right opinion? See if I'm right. They'll trade Colome and McCann and that's it. You think Bummer is special? Let me tell you something. He's the perfect White Sox player. Under control, makes no money. There's absolutely no reason to flip him in the Sox minds. Jay and Nova? You don't agree they should just be DFA'ed? I don't know who made you so mighty you can insult me as you just did. I'll do you a favor. I'm blocking you now so hopefully we won't run into each other's posts anymore. As long as I can figure the ignore function. Adios.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
This sure seems farfetched to me. As el rockin said, this is no way to do it and the Sox won't be doing this nonsense. Flipping him then bringing him back immediately.

Is Giolito an ace?
That never used to matter when guys like Buehrle mowed down the Royals start after start and some of their guys (Chen) mowed us down start after start.

What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
We're starting to play like I thought we would on the road (lose series after series). We've been good at home, better than a normal tank team. I expect a big time nosedive in August and September; we're talking mega losing.
-
All Star Jose Abreu
Two for 30 would be nice; I'd prefer three so we could shut up the people who want to trade him for at least a full season. How about 3 years, 36 million, take it to the bank and start pushing the narrative he's our team leader, our Walter Payton, our Ernie Banks, our Dick Butkus, our Corey Crawford, our Scottie Pippen. I like this report.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I would assume we'll trade Colome soon. If a team is desperate for a bullpen piece I would think Hahn might make a deal for him that Sox fans think is special. If a team is desperate I'd think we could get 2 of their above average prospects. I think you guys overvalue Bummer. He's the dime a dozen guy (never a highly regarded prospect looking very good right now) who we'll keep. Jose? I mean I worship the guy, but what team desperately needs a first baseman/DH? I haven't studied it but don't most "contenders" have first basemen/DH aplenty? Especially AL teams and Jose isn't known for defense. He could cost an NL team dearly with bad defense in the playoffs. Even those on here desperate to flip Jose can't be addicted to flipping so much they want some bums back for Jose. That's just downright weird. I'm speaking as a flip fanatic which I am not. But speaking for you guys, I'd think realistically you'd want to dump Colome and McCann (does any team have an emergency need at catcher?). And just release Jay and Nova. Virtually nobody wants those guys IMO. And release Yolmer. Nobody will want him and it's time to get the new blood some at bats since we are tanking again. I really feel like the only guys of any "flip" value are Colome (for nothing too special) and possibly McCann (if a team needs a catcher). Surprised the flip people haven't been clamoring to dump McCann (before he comes down to earth, which the flip people like to say). McCann, however, is sort of beloved on here, much moreso than my idol, Abreu for instance.

What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
Our games still do not matter so nobody gets fired. It's kind of silly but we're playing a different brand of baseball. We're playing tank ball. We haven't tried to win for some time now. I don't know how the team played over its head so long. The losses will be piling up now and we can all blame the loss of Timmy. Hyperbole lovers ... how bad is our pitching staff? One of 10 worst in Sox history? Five worst?
-
What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
I agree. It's like the all star break was the break needed to have us play to original expectations. I firmly expect us to suck the entire second half. Loss of Timmy kills the lineup; our pitching staff is very very very poor. I was going to say one of the worst in team history but then I thought that might be hyperbole.

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
Go ahead. I don't care anymore. I want Jose gone so I don't have to defend him any more. This season has been over a while so it's "wait til next year" again. Again ... it's a miracle this team flirted with .500 with this pitching staff for as long as it did. I guess we can blame the injury to Timmy and loss of any pop in RF with the loss of Avi, but our lineup is nothing to crow about, either.

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
Jon Jay is the invisible man. Kudos to him for 4-for-4. Excuse me for not caring.
