  1. Everybody's trying to hit a home run in every situation ... well, not Jon Jay but just about every hitter in MLB. It's the new rage. HR or K. And that's what everybody wants.
  2. I think Jose lost that final at bat on the first pitch. Watch the replay. It was the only hittable pitch in the sequence. I wish he'd have jumped on it and roped it down the LF line into the corner. Once it got to be 2 strikes you knew the pitcher's advantage was huge with the crap in the dirt he waved at. Still love you Jose. Bad at bat, though. Why not rope that first pitch? It was meat.
  3. To those who think Jose is ancient at age 32 ... explain Nelson Cruz's fine season at 39? It's all cliche. Cruz woulda looked nice in our lineup instead of Alonso this season. See what I mean about contending? You make the RIGHT free agent signings and you might win something without all out tanking.
  4. Moncada gets on base then my guy bats with game on the line ... not a good scenario as I'm usually doomed. I better log off.
  5. I jinxed Leury by starting to praise him a lot on the board.
  6. He's not a mental midget. He's very tall and some of us are worried he's susceptible to control issues. He seems at a stage of the season he needs some coaching/help.
  7. El Rockin is the greatest Sox fan alive. Never negative. Always sees the positive. That said i am outta here. ... Hopefully I will change the luck. I despise the Cubs.
  8. The way he's pitching, it may be scary if he starts the all star game.
  9. Would anybody mind if I applauded Jose for his 2-for-3? I love Jose Abreu.
  10. I'd get the tape out and show him over and over his delivery when it's smooth. There have been games he's poetry in Randy Johnson motion.
  11. That was ball four to Moncada, but I'm OK with him hacking at it if he liked it.
  12. It is if we bunt again. Ricky should fine himself for that dumb call. It angered the baseball gods as nothing has gone right since then.
  13. It's only the fifth inning. I realize Lester is probably going to cruise with the big lead, but it'd be very nice if the Sox could make this a game. Light into a few pitches and make it 6-4 by the seventh.
  14. Richie, most of the board has praised Gio greatly this season. It's OK to blast him for walking the bases loaded. Game ova at that point. Not to rub it in but we've really played well since Ricky tried to bunt with one out. Way to go Ricky. Yeah, it's a one-run game where we should be bunting with one out. Idiotic. I'm so mad when I think about that bunt!!! This is the AL. You don't bunt with one out when a HR is always a possibility, even against Lester.
  15. He's the K-Stater who got hit in the head with the batted ball. I feel for him and am proud of his comeback but all indications are he blows.
  16. This Evan Marshall guy is no good it appears. Hate to be that guy, but this game appears to be ova (only cause Cubs figure to score more this inning and put it out of reach).
  17. I agree with this post. Fully.
  18. Farmer didn't get too specific. He did blast Gio for the walks. Said when you walk the bases full that shit like Schwarber's bloop tends to happen.
  19. Yes sir. I wouldn't dare start Gio. Maybe give him an inning later in game or in middle innings.
  20. Not scared. Out of whack. Mechanics way off. For whatever reason. I'm open to suggestions, why the fricking anger??
  21. Heaven forbid he be hurt. ... He's certainly out of whack. Anybody have a reason why he's so wild now? Are pitchers like hitters? Is he gonna have to adjust a bit?
  22. I'm giving our boys a break cause some of the guys ain't ready for prime time which is OK. We don't exactly prepare them with packed stadiums often. Would love to see us get out of this with one more run then actually go to work and score some runs at home.
  23. Normally I'd be furious but packed house, obviously Gio is all out of whack with his mechanics. And Eloy has no clue defensively tonight with the packed house (and bright sun earlier). Eloy was a statue there. Throw to second and Schwarber woulda been out. Gio needs refresher work on what he's trying to do on the mound. This folks is a game some of these young players will remember and learn from. It'd be nice if our hitters could bail us out and outslug the Cubbies 11-8 or something.
  24. I feel for Lucas. He's got that tall frame of his out of whack. It's not easy. Like Farmer just said he has to be free flowing. We either get a DP here or lose, it's that simple. Big inning potential.
