Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Vile: Many fans aren't like us. They think we are the illogical ones and the idiots. You and me like to go to a game and win and be happy on that given day, not dreaming of losing and getting some draft pick. Quite frankly fans like you and me are the exception on the board rather than close to the majority. I still get pissed the nights we lose although I will admit Hahn has gotten me very very very used to losing. It's not a good feeling that I have been conditioned to expecting losses.

Find the old thread. Peeps penciled in Rutherford as a future RF star. And even were pumped about Tito Polo. Some people loved Rutherford as a prospect.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
I love you Vile. Keep posting. Remember I approve of your posts so much. I've said this for years, how deflating it would be to be a person to finally go to a Sox game and have it be 9-0 in the third inning. Many of us want our team to win no matter what. Personally if we had 45 wins going into September I'd still want to win every single game. I despise the draft.

Collins getting called up
Eloy's batting average is low but we're not supposed to care about BA. He's hit a good number of homers and driving in a plethora of runs. Love Eloy.

Cool that you never thought of him as high upside. Much of this board did, doing backflips when we acquired Rutherford who should never be confused with (Babe) Ruth.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
The folks who I call the "trade people" or the "trade lovers" don't give a flip about the closer the rest of the season. If it helps us lose batches of games to get a better draft pick, they are all for it. Why? Cause they feel we don't have a team worthy of winning it all without sweating. They wanna keep acquiring prospects til on paper we have a team expected to win 100 to 105 games and roll through the playoffs. Meanwhile I care deeply about your questions about who will close this year and next if we dump Colome for some top 100 prospect who will never make the bigs.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Some on this board never gave up on Jones. I never wish injuries on anybody but with him you could see how he'll get hurt over and over. His pitching mechanics should have been fixed long ago. Some of the worst motion I've ever seen.

Definitely got to look out for yourself. Even good companies will go bad if they see they have a worker they can take advantage of.

Does Ricky deserve manager of the year?
Thanks Colinski. I like all the new blood on the board. The new blood has a few people that tolerate/like Greg very well. I've been pretty much despised much of the time in the past. You make a great point about the bunting obviously. I'm not a fan of it. When I see it I freak out like the rest of the board. Not a fan of giving up the out. And a lot of times we can't even get the bunt down. Bunt truly is a 4 letter word, but I'd be OK with keeping Ricky if he keeps this up.

The argument to keep Avi Garcia
If Jon Jay gets any at bats with the Sox, that will be sad. There's no need for the guy on our team.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Love it! Great post. McCann blows in the eyes of the stat people. They should stand by that and speak out while we (not saying you Balta, you may like new age stats) praise him from our eye test and tradition stat tests.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
Nice post! I get a kick out of seeing people pick one advanced stat and mock the traditional stats when they dislike a player. And then with Gio suddenly they cite wins and losses cause he's so good in wins and losses right now. I mean I worship Gio like Abreu, but it's funny how the advanced stat people know exactly what they are doing. Long live HRs and RBIs Mr. Abreu.

Rick Hahn and his Trades
Are u serious? He will be a GM forever after stealing Eloy. Again ... it would be like acquiring Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Dave Winfield when they were 23. When you make a special trade you stick around.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
I would rather have Colome and McCann. McCann has convinced me he's a damn fine ballplayer and unselfish. Colome has done a fine job. But at this point I don't wanna trade either!!

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Look, we acquired Colome for Omar. Omar is having a fantastic season. At this point, Omar has probably been just as valuable to Seattle as Colome to the Sox. Now the Sox want youth for Colome. Yes, he's probably worth two Rutherford type players. The question is: Will those 2 Rutherford type players ever contribute to the big league Sox. Maybe. Probably 50/50. So go ahead and trade him for 2 young guys so the segment of our fanbase that loves prospects is satisfied. Fans like me have to concede he "might" bring 1-2 prospects that at least have a 50/50 chance or 40/60 of being big leaguers. That's worth the gamble to those who love rebuilds. Then in the offseason you look for the next closer type and continue the cycle.

Rick Hahn and his Trades
That is true but Eloy is so special it puts Hahn in a special class of GM. Probably will go down as one of the biggest mistakes Cubs ever made in dealing him.
-
Rick Hahn and his Trades
I agree with that. He's part of the advanced stat crowd that is trying to build a team that is so powerful that it will run away with division titles and be overwhelming favorite to win the WS rather than have teams that can simply win it. However you shouldn't really hate anything about Hahn cause of one word: Eloy. He was not part of the Sox organization and Hahn was able to steal him away from the Cubs.

Rick Hahn and his Trades
I've said it before I'll say it again. Hahn is a White Sox GM forever or as long as he wants to be. Acquiring Eloy is that significant. If Gio and Cease and Eloy stay healthy he may go down as the greatest GM in Chicago sports history. All he has to do is acquire 2 veteran starters and one reliever and one outfielder and he's ready for postseson play.

You'd think the union would have employees' backs. Stuff happens n people are 10 minutes late. Can't u stay 10 minutes later than normal to make up for it? I think generation X and the millennials will fix this 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. obsession in business. You can' be just as productive working irregular hours.

Sox vs Yankees - 6/15 6:10pm
Nice hit, James. Would be something if we could score more.

Sox vs Yankees - 6/15 6:10pm
This is it. Sox need 3 or 4 this inning to have a chance at thrilling this big crowd.

Sox vs Yankees - 6/15 6:10pm
Would be neat if we could win 3 of 4 vs NYY.

Man, the Sox are getting clubbed tonight. We're one grand slam away from Davidson pitching. Oops, he's gone. Wonder if he's playing for anybody. Holy bleep I found him. He has 17 homers in AAA this year. matt baby!

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
This post should be MEMORIZED by all Sox fans. Why is this so hard for people to consider?? He is right. If you think Bummer and Colome are good enough to help next season you don't trade them. You'll just have to find replacements. Ditto Abreu, McCann, any of our good players. We are .500. In the old days we'd be figuring out a way to get the wild card NOW in 2019. Unfortunately fans want to build a team there's no doubt it'll cruise to a minimum of the AL championship. No longer do we want to find a way into the playoffs cause fans assume we'll lose. Nobody wants to compete anymore, catch lightning in the postseason and WIN IT ALL as the wild card. GREAT BALTA POST!!!

Do I dare bring up my pal in Tampa Bay? Imagine his production in our lineup? I do realize he constantly has hammy problems. I wish trainers would help him out more with that.
