Dallas Keuchel time is now.
Sign him. 4-5 year deal. Why not?

Sox Win!
Put Harper and Keuchel on this team and a second baseman and a real catcher and one more reliever who can actually pitch ... uh, pretty damn good team. Think about it. All those moves were attainable with our payroll.

We blew it. A frontal a$$ault would have gotten us Harper, the one of the two I wanted! Harper would be looking might fine in silver and black right now. One of our weaknesses would be FILLED with Harper. The heck with Manny. He needs counseling with all the crap he pulls on a baseball field. That catcher could get HURT there.

Sox Win!
Greg told you our starting pitching would dominate the division. Rodon take a bow!! That's why I want to accelerate the rebuild. Win the damn division! Congrats to Moncada, what a freaking bomb! Abreu. My guy. I've always worshiped him. And I hate to say it but Alonso is a professional hitter and is a big league talent whose protection will help Abreu. This team has some good pieces. Tinker and make it work Hahn! Win now! We've got the rotation. Sign Dallas now; find another reliever SOON. And get a second baseman even if his name is Gordon Beckham. Just.Win.Baby.

Whats the plan, man?
One big LOL. Tonight, Keller walks four and gives up three runs in 6 innings. Ian Kennedy rocked in blowing the save. Yeah, it's a little different when you are not playing Ricky's boys.

Whats the plan, man?
Jon Jay has to be the first projected starter in recent Sox history to have NO FAN wondering how he's doing or when he's ready to get in that lineup. Hyperbole? Not really. OK, maybe Erstad was the last one that people would yawn about more than Jay.

Whats the plan, man?
I was wondering ... considering what somebody was saying about the Sox having pretty much no merchandise in stores and interest at an all time low (or close to an all time low from what u all tell me), is this rebuild worth it? Are we just assuming after one more year of horrid baseball our fans will pack the stadium when we get to be contenders? Remember, even if we rebuild well and "contend," in this day and age of playing everybody in your own division 18 times, it will be difficult for the Sox to run away and hide even when we get good. In other words, will we even ever seem like real contenders until the final week of August/summer and all of September? I just wondered if it was worth it having our brand fall so far during the rebuild? I'll join Caulfield in really looking at attendance this season. Surely Opening Day won't even be sold out, will it?

We'll see what we get for them. We'll see. Maybe we should really limit their work so they'll be 100 percent healthy at the trade deadline. This is all so silly, this rebuilding crap.

Our two decent relievers are not going to bring much via trade. Cmon now.

Jussie Smollett/Chicago police nice work
Wrong. If somebody takes part in a hate crime, it can and will be proven and they will go to prison a long time. Each case is an individual case. I still have confidence in the United States of America.

You are a great great person! Thing is you don't have to get married to be her friend forever. Of course you may want to marry her no matter what. Bless u second city saint. You sound like a true saint! Greg's advice is proceed with caution as far as marriage even if it's an unpopular form of advice.

Whats the plan, man?
Isn't this the organization that chose Burger with its first pick? Just saying. BTW Madrigal better start upper cutting. You noticed our entire hitting philosophy is HR or strikeout this season? I realize that's most hitters' strategy but still. ...

SAnchez, Rondon and Engle up in the ninth, lol. That's all you need to say there.

They aren't going to call that a ball in the bottom of the ninth inning Rondon. Protect.

We have a few very good players (albeit mostly young), 4-5 guys who have no business being regulars, a very good starting rotation and a bullpen that has maybe 2 reliable guys, the rest guys like Covey. I predicted 88 wins so I can't back off that, but let's just say I can see why some of you picked 70 wins.

Nice field job with the shift by the Sox. I can't believe the shift isn't against baseball's unwritten rulebook. How can big leaguers agree to shift when it is SOOOO embarrassing when a player hits into the shift. It's so "selfish." Imagine this. You take your eight year old kid to the game. A lefty is up. there is one guy standing at the traditional SS position, three guys on the right side of the infield, one in short right field. All you have to do is plop the ball on the left side anywhere for a hit. Q: "Daddy, in Little League you tell me to look at the defense and hit it where they are not standing. Why does (fill in the blank) so and so not just hit it where the third baseman should be? He'd get a hit every time?" Uh son ... it's just the way it is. Big leaguers do what they want to do. They don't try to get on base for the team even though it'd be so easy to bunt it to third."

Why was Matt Davidson Dropped?
The Matt pitching thing is so overrated. He coulda just as easily been lit up in those 3, count em, 3 outings. It's not like he was throwing 99 or something. It shows you in fact how hard it is to get a hit in baseball. There are 8 defenders out there and it's likely more than not you are gonna hit it at somebody in the field especially with all the shifts.

Is Illinois jinxed? No offense, but the Underwood hire was a slam dunk and now he is facing a crucial year three. Meanwhile Beard who was no hotter a coach prospect than Underwood has struck gold?

Jussie Smollett/Chicago police nice work
Staging a hate crime is dangerous business (greg is capn obvious again). But some of these things escalate quickly and people riot over things that allegedly were done to Jussie (the bleach, the noose, etc.). Jussie deserves to at least lose a lot of cash over this. He could have picked a better way to draw attention to himself and further his career. You don't need to go inflaming a city over alleged attack over race/sexual orientation. Shame on Jussie if he is guilty. Kudos to Chicago cops for fine work.

Relationship Advice Thread
Second city, I don't know if you are a believer but I'll pray for you and your GF. I am concerned about your situation and urge caution in getting married for a while. A GREAT friend of mine married a woman with depression and anxiety and they got an anullment within 2 months because of the horrible situation the anxiety/depression caused. I know you love her because you said you do, but I preach caution in tying the knot. Have you set a date? My friend got married despite the problems and simply had to get the annulment despite loving her. He married another woman just a year later and they are happy with a child. I'm not applauding the situation as the woman with the anxiety did not want to break up the marriage but he felt strongly he needed the annulment. The woman with the anxiety is doing better as well which pleases me! Good luck second city.

And that’s a White Sox Winner!
Leury and Yolmer are average bench players. Not starters on a contender.

And that’s a White Sox Winner!
I despised acquiring Alonso but I must confess I like his approach at the plate. If he keeps this up, I will enjoy him being in the middle of the lineup. We got what we deserved in going 1-2 in KC. The pitching overall was good. Batters not named Garcia, Sanchez and Palka had decent hitting series. Eloy didn't do much but you can tell he's going to rake. I salute McCann for today. If we had upgraded CF and 2B last winter I'd feel OK about our lineup, but we didn't. Still have black holes in Yolmer, Leury, Palka, McCann, and jury is out on Alonso. And our outfield defense is going to show up especially on the road. Can't see us winning many series on the road. GO SOX! I'll take one of three in KC; in the Cell I expect us to beat that rotten KC team 2 of 3 though.
