  1. Sox road record is gonna be soooo bad. And the team isn't built for the Cell so yikes on the record. ... Our bullpen? Cmon, the Brother Rice Crusaders would salivate getting to bat against these dudes.
  2. Don't give up on Shewmake and Lee til their stats say it's time to bury 'em. Thank u. And is it possible Sheets can hit a bit? He's always been kind of easy to root for.
  3. I heard Nicky was kinda difficult to be around as a Royal. No proof that's true or not, but if they were talking bleep on him, mabe they don't like him.
  4. Oops Shewmake down to .230. The good news is Sheets is hitting for average and Lee has a good BA. ... As expected one part of our team will fall apart minimum most every night. Today bullpen again LOL status. My gawd, our team stinks. Eight runs in the seventh LOL. Can't believe I have no interest in our W/L record. Thanks White Sox for ruining my sporting life.
  5. Amen. There has to be some sort of plan. I still think many of our fans like tank mode for some odd reason. I guess the names we acquire and drop into rookie ball or A ball are the grand, mysterious players who some day will turn our team into a winner in the short window they have before free agency. That didn't work so well last time. I wish we had a new owner and GM who knew what the frick they were doing besides saving money during tank jobs.
  6. That's what I was thinking about Cease. Sox would have 2 good starters which is a start. Now we just got one and we suck. The Cease trade was a joke. Didn't the Sox get one decent outfield prospect in that one?
  7. This is a depressing thread realizing the Sox can't sign anybody who is any good, apparently cause there is no money or JR won't ever spend money. If you get rid of all your moderately good players, our team will be in tank/rebuild mode forever. At some point the Sox need to return to the days they had obvious big leaguers on the team. Frankly if the Sox can't realistically build a winner cause of $$ I wish they'd fricking sell the team or move the team.
  8. That post pretty much says it all. Those are the guys responsible for the win. And the bloop by the easy-to-like, but not very good Vaughn.
  9. Well tip of the cap to Crochet. And Kopech for the final result. I think it's safe to say this is our formula to win. Have the big leaguers on the team lead us to victory. Crochet and Kopech belong in the bigs. And Bong is prolly good enough to be a big league reserve at least. We rode some of our few big leaguers to victory. ... And Moncada who is a big leaguer of some sort didn't boot the big grounder, turning the DP. I hate the Sox these days but do not want them to lose ever. Nice win over a good team.
  10. I've always liked Andrew Vaughn but he always 'seems' so pained and stressed in actual games. Do him a favor Sox and dump him. He needs a change of scenery. Some minor trade to get rid of him and do him a solid. Maybe he can hit in his next franchise. Poor AV. He seems likeable. Can't hit as a Sox.
  11. I think the front office is realizing just how bad this team is and needs an arm to throw out there. This on paper is one of the worst teams in MLB modern history.
  12. Totally expected. The last five hitters today couldn't get a hit off Brother Rice's No. 1 starter. Ah, that's hyperbolic and untrue I guess. I just wanted to write Brother Rice in a sentence. In that clip it looked like under 100 people remained in the stands in the eighth inning. p.s. I was thinking about this. I know all about the secondary market and cheap tickets but in terms of basic economic theory, can you imagine a Sox fan paying 45 bucks for a lower level seat and paying 20 for parking and then buying a good amount of concessions? Economic theory tells me that's one of the worst deal for the consumers ever, if indeed they want the Sox to win and are not a fan of the opponent. FOR THE MONEY a Sox game has to be one of the worst deals of the upcoming spring/summer. Even if you love the corned beef, pizza, shakes, whatever, it's grossly overpriced for the amount of consumer enjoyment. I know minor league games are costing way too much but I'd think a minor league game in the Chicago area would be a better deal.
  13. The Sox don't realize how long time fans have thrown in the towel. Oh wait I'm sure Jerry doesn't care. He brought us ingrates one title in 2005. How ungrateful I must be in his eyes.
  14. Oh my. We weren't dumb after all. The Sox are historically as bad as we expected. Can u imagine being a pitcher and you get to face a bottom five of Sheets, Bong, Lopez, Mandy and Fletcher? Nirvana for a pitcher. I am not exaggerating or full of hyperbole. This is the worst lineup in Sox history. It just is. Then you got Beni at the top who is no hit machines. Take Eloy out and it's pretty darn bad. Oh my. Braves 9-0. Sox should be fined by the commish for fielding a team this poor. I'm dumbfounded.
  15. Do the Sox still not allow people in the upper tank to visit other areas of the ballpark? You buy a ticket up there u stuck up there? Considering what their crowds are gonna be like pretty soon, that's pretty dumb if it's true.
  16. Hey Lip Man, how many games u gonna go to this year? Just wondering,
  17. There's not much media out there anymore. The TV guys are paid by the team I believe thus lean toward being homers. Stoney was critical at times in the past, should be interesting to see if he just mails it in for the paycheck this year. ... The newspapers have no real strong voice like Mariotti was. So the media is pretty much a non factor. MLB.com isn't going to be real negative. That leaves the occasional national columnist. They won't waste their time. ... Reinsdorf has to sell the team. Invest your money elsewhere Jerry. It can't be 'fun' being owner of this rotten ballclub with no real end of misery in sight.
  18. Again, this man was ready willing and able to be hired by the Royals who knew everything they needed to know about Pedro. The Royals passed on him. Let's face facts. This team and everything about it has no bright spots now except Robert (til he likely gets hurt again) and maybe Montgomery. Grifol is not good.
  19. Illinois had an incredibly good team. It's impossible to explain how they got buried by a 30-0 run. Illini got a great team, a very good coach, can we blame this one on starting times of games for the U of I? ... So it's Bama-UConn and Purdue-NC State. Purdue-UConn is a very competitive final. Or I think it would be.
  20. The problem is the Sox are just beginning one of those long stretches of badness that the Pirates and Orioles have had. Remember when the O's finished last every year and were out of it every May? Sox need so much of everything I would expect the team to blow chunks again next season. We need a new owner badly. And we need a manager like Maddon when he was good. ... Seriously, in a polite way Jerry needs to be run out of town. How can any reasonable fan accept two tank jobs in such a short period of time?
  21. Jerry ought to take that money and give out some free beer/soda at games to fans dumb enuf to pay 45 bucks for a seat to attend.
  22. Spring training optimistic b.s. Worst roster I've ever seen in my Sox fandom and that's saying a lot. No hyperbole. No team strengths except defense if u believe the experts.
  23. At least the Sox are predictable. They lose a lot and players get hurt a lot. Now it's a AAA team vs the Braves? I guess we see if somehow a minor league team can beat a good MLB team. Can you imagine the clubhouse right now? Three straight losses at home against Benetti's boys after the usual b.s. optimism of spring training. 0-3 is one huge LOL even though we should expect it. Even non-pathetic Sox teams struggle to win in the Cell. It'd be funny if they go 0-10 or some such thing.
