QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 01:41 PM) Store owner said Alton wasn't even the guy he called to complain about. I knew it!! I just knew it. After seeing pictures of the guy he looked like the biggest teddy bear you could imagine. He just didn't seem the type to pull a gun out on somebody for not buying his DVD. I was thinking it had to be he felt like he was getting robbed or something we hadn't heard about. It turns out he did NOTHING wrong. This is a travesty that he was assassinated. The cops need to be charged with murder today! With no bail. These incidents are proving it's not that safe to legally carry a gun cause you will be murdered by cops if you happen to get pulled over in your car or approached. Apparently they go into killer mode when near a legally owned gun.
  2. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 06:55 PM) This is pretty laughable. In one sentence he says, “We have no basis to conclude that [Clinton] lied to the FBI.”, and then continues to say the following: Lie 1: On Clinton’s claim that nothing she sent or received was marked classified, he said, “That’s not true. … There was classified material emailed.” Clinton had made that claim repeatedly in public, and also in sworn testimony before the House Benghazi committee last October. Lie 2: On her claim that she used one device, he said, “She used multiple devices.” Lie 3: On her claim that she turned over all work-related emails, Comey said, “No, we found work-related emails, thousands that were not returned.” I don't think our definition of liar match here, SS. LOL it's like another Saturday Night Live skit. Why did they bother with this charade? Clinton's are above the law and that is scary considering she has 8 years of Presidential Power coming up. Hillary needs to borrow somebody's phone to call Comey and set up a party in a plane on a tarmac somewhere to toast his support of her. It's scary what so many people will do in support of somebody as unimpressive and outwardly elitist as Hillary Clinton.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 07:15 AM) Westbrook "put off" by Durant's season-long friendship with rival Draymond Green https://www.yahoo.com/news/russell-westbroo...-232006231.html Yes and I read somewhere Durant didn't like the fact Westbrook and other "guards" on the team couldn't free him for open shots. Now had OKC not choked and beaten GS we'd never heard this s***, but ... Anyhow can you imagine the Thunder?? They've gone from a team that would probably make The Finals two of the next three years with Durant and Westbrook to one that now has NO CHANCE of that and in fact will suck once Russell leaves. Amazingly bad luck for OKC. They have a good GM so maybe he can figure something out, but ...
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 05:30 AM) The man, identified by relatives as a St. Paul schools employee, died at HCMC, according to an uncle. The shooting followed a traffic stop near Larpenteur Avenue and Fry Street. On the video, the man is slumped next to a woman, his white T-shirt soaked with blood. St. Anthony police, which is the agency that patrols Falcon Heights, and the BCA are investigating.Graphic video shows aftermath of shooting by police officer in Falcon Heights. startribune.com Amazing how calm that woman was in the face of everything going on around her...she will probably be faulted on the internet for "acting like a detached TMZ reporter," but there's absolutely NOTHING she could have done to get the ambulance there any faster. She was ordered to not move. I can't believe they didn't shoot her as well when she exited the car. They were screaming at her and pointing guns at her. Good luck now if you get pulled over and tell a cop you are carrying a weapon legally. Cause you make ONE move apparently and you are dead. I watched the video many times. Now the man has been shot four times and is laying back moaning and dying in the car. So what do the cops do? They keep a gun pointed in the car and are yelling at the guy and the woman still. This is not only cold blooded killing of a man who did nothing to deserve to die, but the inhumane watching of him die and not attending to him. Now why in the f*** would a.) you not merely taze the s*** out of him if you have to use force and b.) if you decide tazing won't work and bullets are needed, why would u shoot him more than once?? Shoot him in the arm or the leg, then open the car door and drag him out and jump on him. My answer to my own question is: He was armed so this changes everything. The cops are worried that gun is going to magically go off with nobody pulling the trigger I guess. If they push him to the ground oh geez the gun might discharge. I see no other reason you would not shoot the guy ONCE in the arm if you have to, drag his ass onto the ground and solve the situation with one bullet wound. No .... they shoot him four times in the arm, then they watch him die while screaming at him. My gawd. ... What is happening to us??? The world is crumbling right before our eyes!!! And the Baton Rouge thing is JUST as bad or worse. Again. why shoot him 5 times and kill him??? If you MUST feel you have to shoot him, then shoot him in the leg once. Again, just cause he's legally carrying I guess changes the score. Cops are afraid the gun is gonna go off ala a Barnie Fife episode so they kill the man. Cops ... get your fricking acts together PLEASE. Have some confidence in your f***ing tazers. If there are 3 cops present, uh odds are one of the tazers will work. STOP THE KILLING.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 04:30 AM) Outside the ALC, the Sox only have a losing record against the Nationals and Rays. It's incredible. Sox are a great great team except for KC, Detroit and Cleveland. Just mind boggling. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 04:37 AM) stupid unbalanced schedule. I hate it as well. Those Central teams scout the hell out of us. If we do manage to hit the ball (they know how to get our guys out with those sliders and out of zone breaking balls) we hit it right at somebody. Meanwhile, they tee off on our pitchers like they know whats coming. They probably have stolen all our signals. We could have met the Cubs in the WS if we knew how to play teams in our division not named Minniehaha.
  6. There appears to be an incident that is not a hoax caught on facebook live. An African American man in Minnesota who was carrying was shot several times with his girlfriend in his car after a traffic taillight stop and may be dead. I'm watching on livestream. If it's a hoax I apologize, but it looks like it's real. Another incident today. Horrifying. It's actually real. This is in cold blood attempted police murder of a man ... and if you watch the video why aren't they trying to save his f***ing life??? Repeat: This man was shot four times because he told the cops he was carrying???? Apparently he's a teacher in the St. Paul school district. My gawd, what is become of our country? The cops are out of control! After watching the video, this might be the most blatant in cold blood cop murder situation of of a motorist of all time! Something must be done. http://www.startribune.com/aftermath-of-of...ideo/385789251/

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 01:11 AM) The second video makes it obvious. The two cops should get life, but they'll get acquitted. Agree on all counts. Well now we know more about how it COULD turn out for law abiding citizens who have registered guns on their person. You get in a scuffle with a cop, you better fall to the ground before they even put you on the ground and lay spread eagle cause once they see you have a gun, you are dead. Wonder if the protests will continue in La.? just saw the second video -- horrible. He wasn't even dead yet after taking a few bullets. I'm telling you, why can't the cops just taze the s*** out of people and quit using deadly force???? Why do they have to kill??? Yeah he had a gun but he was a legal gun holder.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 04:11 AM) Trying not to get to optimistic here...but it feels great to win and we do play Cleveland 10 more times...hopefully, just hopefully, we can start beating AL Central Teams (other than just beating the Twins) in the second half The Sox are bonafide contenders ... if they didn't have to play in the Central. They are competitive against everybody else. There's enough of a sample size to say that. Like you said ... hopefully the Central Division thing will turn around. I don't see it happening, but Sox are definitely an outstanding team outside of the Central.
  9. I think it's pretty neat Wade has decided to end his career in Chicago. It's a nice story and if can stay healthy, he's still a productive player. Obviously he's not worth that kind of money, but who cares about that? NBA has entered a new era of salaries and it's just Monopoly money anyway. Somebody start a D. Wade appreciation thread. I think it's cool he's back in town. If somehow the Bulls gel and make the Eastern Conference finals, that would be amazing.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 01:03 PM) Ray Allen reportedly coming out of retirement to suit up for the Warriors. And it begins... This is ridiculous. He's 41. He'll be a detriment to the Warriors. Does anybody really think he'll be good? And Wade? Pass on him. He's also getting old and is good but not some unabashed superstar anymore. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 05:19 PM) By the way guys, I'm semi serious, I totally could see Chris Paul, Wade, Lebron and maybe even Melo teaming up at some point to try and be the "good" guys in a battle vs. the hated Warriors. . The Warriors didn't even win it; Cleveland did. I don't think the Warriors are locks next year just cause they got Durant. Only way they'll win it all is if Curry/Klay do indeed take a back seat to Kevin. Law of averages had some of those ridiculous threes miss this season. Remember how badly Curry played at the end of that series? Behind the back pass out of bounds. Finally missing key 40 to 45 foot threes? Golden State got 1 title so far. Nothing to sweat yet.
  11. So the attorney general, a week or so after visiting with Bill Clinton on a plane on a tarmac of all places, an elitist move in itself, announces predictably just now that the case is closed on Hillary e-mail. She had to be so happy; all she did was say the FBI investigated, recommended no charges, so no charges. Took her off the hook completely. She needs to have a private meeting with the FBI director on a plane on a tarmac where they can privately hoist a cup of champagne over this exoneration. Yes it was so predictable, but what baffles the little guy taxpayer is how the hell the FBI director can say she DEFINITELY did wrong, did a lot of things criminally wrong here, but no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute. Also that there was no criminal INTENT of Hillary. Well gee wiz, there's no criminal intent when I drive 100 in a 65. I just temporarily wasn't thinking and hit the gas. I had no ill will here; no deviant behavior trying to break a law. It just happened. My bad. There was no criminal intent when I left my child in a 100 degree car; I just thought it'd be less than one minute as I went and bought something inside the gas station quickly. I didn't know I'd get an important phone call in the store as my child nearly died in the car and a bystander had to break the window open. Heaven forbid I am being arrested? There was no intent dammit! How the hell can the FBI director say she did SO MANY things wrong but no reasonable prosecutor would ever prosecute here? I'll find a prosecutor or two who will press charges. Trump should just go nuts IF HILLARY actually agrees to a debate or two. All he should do is talk about Crooked Hillary and the emails and Arkansas and Bill's behavior in the oval office. He's going to lose anyway; I'd talk about no issues. I'd just keep saying: "As a form of protest against the FBI allowing Hillary to skate on the e-mail issue, I only will talk about my opponent's non presidential behavior of the past. The system is rigged and she is crooked."
  12. QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 03:50 AM) to get shut out by that meatball throwing pitcher was pretty embarrassing. It was embarrassing like you said. He was nothing special. Our hitters reeked.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 12:28 AM) There isn't much to think about. He decided to take the easy way out and join the team that would basically guarantee him a championship. Aha. I just saw an article that quotes a Durant insider saying he grew frustrated with Westbrook and not having a guard pass to him when he's open. Too many contested shots. I had a feeling he might not have been thrilled with Russell.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 11:31 PM) Johnnies is my favorite beef, but Portillo's isn't bad, and a combo at Luke's is a treat. Best beefs ever where at the now closed Jimmy's in Arlington Heights. That beef sandwich at Midway airport is sooooo good. Also I was disappointed. I was home for my uncle's funeral and met a friend at some place in Naperville to eat right next to the fabled Lantern bar. I said, 'damn I have to get my Chicago beef fix" and was served trash. And suburbia is full of good beef places. It was sad to be served such a lousy Chicago beef sandwich.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 03:14 AM) http://heavy.com/news/2016/07/alton-sterli...censored-watch/ If those officers end up still being acquitted, good God Greg might be right about the US falling apart.... WTF is wrong with cops?? Taze the guy you stupid f***s! Nothing in that video suggests he should be shot and killed for selling CDs and resisting. Taze him!! Oh I know ... the tazer might not work. There's always some lame excuse for loss of life. Whichever cops shot this man and killed him should be convicted of murder. The fact the guy had a gun on him though will let the cops off the hook.
  16. That game was ridiculous. Pity the people in the stands who were not Yankee fans. Pathetic and disgusting effort.
  17. SELL. SELL. SELL. Get rid of anybody not named Sale, Quintana, Abreu, Anderson.
  18. Well, looks like the wrong attorney general is in office. Seriously, the FBI director should resign today, he's already done his good dead for Hillary. And that AG who met Bill on the tarmac should be replaced in disgrace as well. Federal Law: Title 18. Section 2071 Can it be any clearer? Former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasey tells MSNBC that not only is Hillary Clinton's private email server illegal, it "disqualifies" her from holding any federal office. Such as, say, President of the United States. "If you do this or that bad thing, you've essentially disqualified yourself as being the leader of the free world," said Mukasey, referring to the illegal server and the illegal handling of classified materials. Mukasey specifically points to one federal law, Title 18. Section 2071.
  19. The Sox always act like a team content to be a game or two within .500 or over .500 cause "there's so much time left in the season." Then after the all-star break they'll hit the road for some 10-game road trip go 1-9 or 2-8 and that's that. Season done. This team annually is the opposite of intense. It plays like a team with cool uniforms - cool. Whatever happens happens but we ain't gonna sweat.
  20. Shreve is pitching. What if he had to wear a port? "Go get Shreve's port! Now!"
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 02:49 AM) Morneau had just two at-bats again tonight, with a K. Then pulled again for a PH. They seem to be taking it very slow and carefully with him. Assuming he'll be ready soon might be too aggressive, albeit hopeful. At the very least, he's got to prove he can make it through 4-5 AB's in a game. What was his injury? Is it the concussion thing?
  22. Like somebody posted a day or so ago I'd give the Sox odds of making the playoffs about 12 percent.
  23. Another home game that has been awful. At least the Sox could give everybody a free beer or coke for watching this s***.
  24. The Melkster didn't play that right, did he? You need to take off and run hard upon ground ball contact. Oh well. We needed a 3 run homer there to have a chance tonight.
  25. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 01:47 AM) Why are none of our hitters working the count? I wonder why in the minor leagues they don't perform an experiment. One night before bringing up somebody like Anderson I'd bat him eighth or ninth and tell him, "Tonight you will take every pitch, just to actually see what it's like to look at pitches from a live pitcher." I mean at some point guys who don't walk are going to have to learn how to take a pitch or they will not succeed. If they simply refuse to draw walks, I'd force them once in a while in the minors to take pitches to see what it's like. I love Anderson but he's not gonna succeed with this approach against big league pitching.
