QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:28 PM) Except for Cabrera, Duke, Bonifacio, Robertson, Shark and LaRoche. Price in Cincy ejected before the game started...he might be fired tonight or tmrw morning. Thing is, every one of those guys will be movable for some good pieces. Young pieces. Hire Bill James or a clone of his as a consultant and make some deals for hitters who will take a walk and can catch the ball.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) I agree on all except Avi being average - he can't catch either. My bad. Avi does stink out there. Let's face it, the Sox are destined for last in the Central. Like Harry says, please trade everybody soon.
-
Now Hawk should go around the Sox diamond after saying that. Gillaspie can't catch; Lexi is OK, our former 2B couldn't catch; Abreu can't catch; Flowers can't catch; melky is average at best; Eaton is a bust this year; Avi is average. We can't catch.
-
LaRoche and Avi with abysmal at bats after the solo homer. Like the say, solo homers don't matter to the opposing pitcher. It was a nice homer, though.
-
Abreu is a superstar. LaRoche makes me miss Dunn (almost).

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) I wonder if Nolan Ryan can get enough money together to buy the White Sox. The only way this team turns it's future around is to have good baseball people in ownership. The organization is putrid from the ownership to the front office to the manager, coaches players and minor league system. Could he buy the team? Any rumors? QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:12 PM) No reason to believe this team will be no less then 14 out ofl first and 8 to games under when they next arrive back home. Time to blow this up. Yeah, please blow it up. Start acquiring young prospects who can actually catch a ball and hit a ball.

QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:14 PM) The Sox are the little b**** of the AL Central this year Obviously the Sox don't care, so we shouldn't either. I gave up on this season long ago. To lose 4 in a row to a team and come back and lose 2 of 3 to the same team at home, lol. And the opponent is a s***ty team.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:52 AM) http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/...presidency.html This will give greg further ammunition to get riled up about on the Clintons. Thanks Caufield! Say what you want about Greg, I think I am right about certain issues and my personal disdain and distaste for what I feel Hillary is all about I think is accurate!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2015 -> 02:05 AM) A moment like we saw with the Paul Konerko ceremony is everything that is right with baseball. Those are the moments you should take from the game and cherish. I loved the most the one fan saying on the video the one thing he remembered most about Paulie was not his WS grand slam or the other stuff but, "the fact he signed with Sox every time his contract was up." That got me to thinking ... that really was fricking impressive. Thank u Paulie!

QUOTE (oldsox @ May 22, 2015 -> 09:41 PM) Could be worse........Dodgers shut out 3 games in a row. Would they take LaRoche off our hands? Get him back in the NL.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) Typically when a team is one of, if not the worst, teams in the Majors in hitting, fielding and base running, they're going to lose a lot of games. If they can't get things turned around, thoughts of contending will be done in a few weeks. Avi being injured highlights just how weak the offense is. Eaton's been far and away the most productive player this week. Need to shuffle some things in the order though, and I would suggest Conor batting 2nd and Melky in the 6-7 range. Good post by Fathom. Once we're out of contention I remain in favor of trading everybody we acquired last year for this year. Re-do it, baby! QUOTE (Baron @ May 24, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) Soto should be playing a majority of the games and PHing whenever Flowers is up with a huge chance on the line as far as I'm concerned. Atleast until Flowers is replaced. But that wont happen. The excuse factory this management and coaching staff has for him is astounding. Cmon. It's a reasonable post, but Soto is not a major league player at this stage, either. Soto is lousy. Bring up whoever is catcher in AAA for the heck of it. Not Soto.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2015 -> 10:56 PM) May owes the White Sox a dinner tab....4 of career 6 victories, top two strikeout performances. This line-up is cinnamon toast crunch without Avi. Cabrera and Sanchez need to sit. But might not have another option in LF, unfortunately. No options exist

QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 23, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) WHY IS HE STILL ON THIS f***ING TEAM I think it was last years occasional power he showed
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 23, 2015 -> 10:55 PM) How can RV justify .205 hitter with a .269 OBP to hit in that spot? Use the dam bench that is why you have one. The sox bench is awful. Just horrific
-
Please fire somebody on the offensive side. Now
-
I forgot to add Paulie lives in a warm weather climate. No winters. Is there a guy alive with a more perfect life right now? My gosh. Not even 40.
-
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 23, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) As with thursdsy 4 runs is just to many to come back from. This team sucks. If Sox don't score 5 today, everybody in the hitting equation should be fired the way the ball is flying out of the place.
-
Paulie's got it made. He appears to be a great guy. He's a multi millionaire. He has a beautiful wife. Two little boys who are just entering their Little League (and up) years. Has a daughter. My gosh at 37 he has it all. Continued health and happiness to the Konerkos.

QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ May 23, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) They rocked him last time they faced him, too. Not good if the Twins have Sale's number. As many times as these teams face each other, if you are a hitter with a clue you should be able to hit a guy.
-
They should let Paulie be co-manager. Love listening to him on the broadcast.
-
Sale is really getting rocked. 4-1 Twins.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 23, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) Pickup hockey at his age? Interesting. Thing is, he's not real old. He's not even 40. Prime pickup hockey years.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 23, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Whatever Vince Coleman is telling our guys is either not working at all or is working perfectly. I'm not sure which. Vince needs to tell them, "Do not run unless it's a hit and run. You are not fast enough to steal second base."
-
The Lexi base hit was great, but why try to steal?? Hit and run maybe. Sox can't steal bases so why try?
-
QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 23, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) It would be nice if the Sox can figure out the elite May today It's not hard to hit homers in the Cell. You'd think Melky could add that 3-4 feet that's been missing on his drives.
