  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) Not that were doomed. But making statements that hes only writing a victory speech. His campaign saying they are going to win big. Conversely, Obama is kind of being low key. As I said, it gives me pause. Damn. People must really be sick of Obama if they are hiring Romney to replace him. My guess is people are firing Obama more than hiring Romney.
  2. I don't think I should tell my mom I voted for Obama today. She might lose all zest for life. Most of my relativos are Republican through and through. I just couldn't vote for Romney. I don't see how anybody could. He's creepy. If any of you like Romney, give me one quick reason why.
  3. Who is winning? As of yesterday I heard on the shows that Romney would win in a landslide; Obama would win in a landslide and Obama would win narrowly. Only scenario I did not hear was Romney would win narrowly.
  4. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) I'm surprised you didn't write in Ozzie Guillen. Tell you the truth I never even thought of that as I perused the ballot. Interesting concept, though.
  5. Well, I truly was an undecided voter heading into the poll just now. I voted for Obama. I'm sick of having to base my decision on who I think is the best of 2 bad candidates. I can't remember the last time I was fired up about a presidential candidate. But of all the Soxtalker's I think I was the only undecided voter heading into today and I did vote for Obama though I do think he's been a poor leader. Or a very blah leader at best. I think Romney is a scary guy who gives me a weird vibe. He just does. I won't offend the world and say I voted for Obama cause he is a Sox fan and Bears fan, but that is one positive in his corner at least. Romney said nothing during the campaign that made me think he'd be good. Obama I feel ran a poor campaign. He sort of was campainging sort of was President. He didnt seem to care to get any message out IMO. Knowing me as you all do, are u surprised I voted for the Big O today?
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 5, 2012 -> 07:53 PM) Why greg775 should vote for: Obama - He's a Christian. He is a known entity and under his watch you have seen the economy finish crashing and start coming back up. He has increased the rights of all kinds of Americans, namely the right to equal pay for women and the right to serve openly for gays, and will end up on the right side of history, socially. In the coming term, several Supreme Court seats are likely to open up...what kind of justices do you want to see appointed? If you want ones that will protect the rights of women, gays, minorities, etc. then Obama may be your choice. If you like helping your fellow man when things are down, Obama is probably your guy. If you don't want to use a voucher to buy healthcare when you get older or perhaps you don't want your social security checks to be underfunded, Obama is your guy. If you want someone that is worldly working in foreign affairs that has no impulse to justify our foreign wars and understands foreign cultures, there's Obama again. If you want someone who won't be run over by his party leadership because he IS the party leadership, there he is again. Romney - He's new. He ran a business very successfully. He claims to wish to lower your income tax rate further than it already has. You may think the Supreme Court justices he would appoint would reflect your values better. As someone who has outsourced, he likely has a very intimate idea of what causes someone to do that and probably knows that there are actually good times to do things like that (would you rather be partially outsourced or not exist? for instance). Despite what he's said, he's unlikely to prioritize a repeal of Obamacare because it is so similar to the law he pushed so hard for in Mass. Also, Romney will inherit a recovering economy so he won't have to change much to keep things going. You also may find the same party holding Pres and House to be better than Pres and Senate (if BO is elected). Vote for anyone - Don't be the kind of person that embarrasses the country that claims to be the most democratic place in the world while boasting a terrible turnout rate in comparison to other democratic governments. Speak your voice in local politics, spend time tonight and see who is running locally. Even if your vote tomorrow doesn't result in a different candidate being elected, you will be heard. Every city, county, state is evaluated not just for which candidate they went for, but also at what strength. Your rep., your president, everyone cares about who you voted for. If your vote makes your area more R-leaning, then R's will please you more. If your vote makes your area more D-leaning, then D's will try to please you more and the R's will try to win you back. Speak out! Nice post. appreciate it.
  7. I am an undecided voter today because I think both candidates suck. I have a couple questions. Please keep answers short. 1.) Why should I vote for Obama? 2.) Why should I vote for Romney? 3.) Why should I vote at all, being that the state of Kansas would vote Rebublican and my vote won't matter, even if the Republican candidate for president was Donald Trump? What is the argument for voting when your state is 100 percent going one way.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 06:20 AM) The bullpen clearly wasn't the biggest issue last year. Yeah, Matt Thornton lost 10 games, bad luck hits sometimes. Just like how good luck hits and you vulture 8 wins like Nate Jones. If Sox want Thornton to face one lefty batter, fine, but he's a horrible option for more than one batter IMO. I wish they'd get rid of him.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) Benet is pretty good. 7A is an absolute b****, but they should get past Oswego. Benet played a great second half. Now, can Benet beat Downers North?

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 08:47 AM) It was actually my eye black... Quin I had no idea u were female. Crazy.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) This website blows my mind at times. Moustakas put up a 3.5 WAR as a 23 year old this past season. I'm not sure if people realize how bad the 3B position has gotten in recent years, but that's f***ing incredible. Sure, his offense wasn't spectacular, but again, he just turned 24 years old and has only had about 1 2/3 full seasons in the pros. Considering he was the 9th ranked prospect in all of bassball in 2011, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he will get better with the bat over the next few years. And even if he doesn't, he's already one of the better all-around 3B in baseball and is under team control for the next 5 years. Thinking we can get him for Floyd or some borderline prospects is pure insanity. If I were Hahn and the Royals expressed any willingness to trade Moustakas, I'd immedietely offer up Quintana and cross my fingers. Unfortunately, I think they'd want a more proven, cost-controlled SP if they were to consider moving him and I personally can't comprehend why they'd want to trade him in the first place. The Royals haven't been lieing to their fanbase telling them to be patient and wait for the kids to come up to trade a Moustakas for a Quintana. Floyd has a name and is more on the right track, but it would take something like Floyd, Quintana and Beckham to get that one done and the fans would still be pissed cause Quintana is not officially a stud prospect yet, Floyd is OK but hittable and makes a lot of money and Beckham has a name but his stats are starting to scream, "I'm just another guy like Getz." Royals would have to be blown away with current big leaguers to trade a Moose or Hosmer. And the Royals are cheap so monetary considerations would be out there for any of the name players they acquire.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 04:16 AM) Are Mitt and Barack going to spend Monday night hanging out in a Hot Tub Time Machine? WTF? I swear I read a book once that said some candidate knew from advance polling he'd lost when he was on his way to vote and had to put on a happy face. He knew he had lost.
  13. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 09:39 AM) Greg, its more customary for you to send people your Brazzers account information now. A lifetime supply of HQ streaming pornography is the gift that keeps on giving. Hilarious. Can you imagine sending a thank you note to a millionaire and adding, "by the way thought you might appreciate my brazzers ID. Enjoy some free porn." Yikes! I wonder if I'd hear from the police.
  14. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) heard some rumblings that the sox have a LOT more to announce price wise. no details, but you'll like it..... I think the price slashing will help a lot. Didn't somebody say parking is now 20 bucks even?
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) I always thought Bulls fans were generally the dumbest in Chicago. Comments like this make me think otherwise. Enjoy Dan Johnson starting DH. Dunn's not going anywhere, so what's the problem. I gave Dunn a B or A-. I just tire of the .200ish batting average. I do think the Sox would probably be happy to dump that salary. What's so outlandish about that? Your point is well taken I guess in that we only win games when we hit home runs. Subtracting 40 might not help us win at this point in time even with all the Ks. At some point that's got to be addressed as well.
  16. Great great post. The key, for starters, is to get rid of Thornton and make sure we don't sign Myers. Thornton, quite frankly, is garbage.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 12:22 PM) His collapse in the polls came right after the first debate, where he was detached and boring. He rebounded with the later ones. Did he do well in the later ones or did he still seem mean? I only watched Debate No. One.
  18. Isn't it true that the candidates will know who won even before Election Day begins? I read somewhere that candidates know exactly what is going to happen at 5 a.m. on Election Day.
  19. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) There was a stretch between 8/28 and 9/12 where the Tigers went 6 - 9 with 5 of those wins coming against the Sox. The problem is that they went 13 - 7 after that when the Sox couldn't buy a win. So they went through a bad patch but over 162 games, they were the better team. But I feel like we were the only reason they were able to stay afloat. The Sox could have buried them in that stretch you mentioned.Sox proved to be their life support and thus the Sox deserve some of their postseason paychecks.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) Unless they get some real pitching, these guys will be retired, and KC will still be waiting. Yeah, but how can they tell their fans this was all a sham? Fans have been told to wait patiently for Moose, Hosmer, Cain, Perez and a batch of pitchers.
  21. We won a WS during his watch which frankly may never happen again so cheers to him.
  22. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) You know he got traded to the Red Sox in June right? When he played for Cleveland it looked like he purposely threw that ball away trying to let the Sox get its act together and win the division. We still lost the game. Sox couldn't get a clutch hit the last month of the season to save its life.
  23. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) THere's nothing wrong with sending a card. However, whst is your relationship with the car dealer? Is he a good friend or just an aquaintance? For a friend I would definitely recommend buying him a few beers. I suppose the card would be adequate otherwise, but a few beers or a gift card for dinner would be even better...that could lead to even more free stuff in the future. Acquaintance. Never been at a bar with him or anything like that. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) Personally, I would have sent flowers. I knew I was kind of treading the feminine line with this post, so to speak, but what the hey? QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) I'm assuming you buy your cars from this guy? If so, I think a card/booze/etc is completely fine. Yep I get my cars there. Thanks for the comments to those of you who posted.
  24. The Royals' plan has been to wait on their "stars" like Moose and Hosmer, et. all. They are not going to trade Moose yet.
