  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) I think you're extremely wrong. Soriano's contract is significantly worse. There are some big market teams that will be in the hunt for a CF. If it's possible to trade him, then I think the Sox will be all in to do so. We couldn't make playoffs even with him in the MVP conversation.
  2. I don't think any teams would trade for Rios even if we give him away. I think that contract keeps him with the Sox like Soriano with the Cubs. Alex coulda hit .350 and nobody would have bitten this offseason I think.
  3. What inning is the no hitter? I turned it off. Not in the mood for bad White Sox (end of season) baseball.
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) I dont feel bad for Peavy at all. He will still get a decent amount of money in free agency. Back to the NL.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:27 PM) He can leave now Poor Jake, he didn't earn his money with the White Sox. He did get mad a lot, though.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) With all due respect, that's a silly post. AJ's played a lot of games in a row, and with a lefty on the mound, Flowers is a better option. I figure the veteran would want to go down fighting rather than sitting in the dugout as young Sale stunk.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Gems from McCarver: The word "fatigue" has only entered the game of baseball in the last decade or so" "With the white sox power they can come back on any team. This is a good come from behind team" The fatigue thing is awesome. The pussification of America has infiltrated baseball for sure. Thanks for benching AJ today.
  8. Not playing AJ today has to be the dumbest decision of all time, typical of our lay-down White Sox. There will be 6 months to rest pretty damn soon.
  9. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) Has he been pulled? Yes he was absolutley horrible.
  10. How can the Sox address this September suckiness in the offseason?
  11. Sale not making it through four innings. The end of this season blows.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) I've made the decision it's probably more exciting (or at least entertaining) to cheer for the Twins' offense against Verlander than ours against Moore. And the thing is that Moore had 3-4 starts in a row where he hadn't gotten past the fourth inning, so it's not like he came into this game on any kind of roll at all. Par for the (Ryder Cup) course.
  13. It's unfair to make our lousy hitters hit in the shadows.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 09:53 AM) You called Buehrle a bad baseball player. He was one of the three big acquisitions in the offseason. Reyes was still a top flight SS and Bell sucked. Buehrle is in the middle. Players is plural. You called Buehrle a bad baseball player. Buehrle >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ozzie Hey I'm not the best writer/expressor of opinion all the time. Mark is a god, small g. I love the guy. I wish he was on this Sox team. I personally think he's the best starting pitcher in Sox history. Modern Sox history at least.
  15. QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) They wrote me back and said they had sent the info to their writer. It was up to the writers if they wanted to do it. So far I haven't heard from anyone. I am not doing this for publicity, but I thought it would be a good story for a Sox writer. It's probably a sign of the times, all the media layoffs. Your story is a great one but would take some work. I think if the Sox made the playoffs you'd get a lot of publicity. Everybody'd be clamoring for fan type stories and yours is a good one.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) It seemed out of place for Bernstein to ask Stone about coming back, so maybe it was based on hearing something that happened the night before Hawk missed a game. I'm not a Stone fan, but I think he'd be more passable as an analyst if he was with a more conventional PBP guy. Hawk is doing the Hawk Show, and in his mind, you're lucky to have the opportunity to sit next to him for three hours every day. That's a great point about the Hawk Show. It is entertaining most of the time, but Stone might feel like he's too good a baseball analyst to be a puppet. I still think the next team should be Hawk/Ozzie if Oz gets the boot.
  17. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) The other site has far more members but they have a small % of posting. It like the Sox attendance. Probably a lot of casual fans or kids who grew up in the every one gets a trophy era who say "I don't post here because of the negativity". Grow a pair or find a Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood for the Sox website where everyone is special. This site is not as negative compared to others. A lot of us are negative, but what the heck? There's something again about this team that was not exactly loveable. A lot of things to like, though. It could be a lot worse.
  18. I can't believe there's 5,000 members. It seems only about 20 people post. It makes your head spin. Do the quiet non posters recognize Greg's posting style? Do they they think I'm an idiot or a brilliant baseball mind? Why don't 1000 of the 5000 post more?
  19. Brother Rice got ripped pretty good tonight by the Celtics. I tell ya I'm not crazy about the no huddle spread offense on the high school level. BR finally got pick sixed tonight and it cost 'em the game pretty much. This quarterback they got is OK. What's gonna happen when they have a blah quarterback? Rice's defense is sucking, too. I'm thinking this coach is stressing offense more than D cause it takes some precision to run the spread. Of course I'm just speculating on that, but Rice is pretty lousy this year on defense. The fans who ripped Nye for running too much might be begging for him to come back.
  20. So are Hawk and Stone feuding or not? Somebody said they didn't talk to each other the first two innings? What's the real story?
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:05 AM) I'm gonna keep posting this. Did Oz survive the crisis? Mark is a great pitcher; u know my feelings on him.
  22. I was good luck as I was busy at work and couldn't watch Sox. I half watched the Brother Rice football game stinker. I think me not watching the Sox helped them win. If they somehow win the division, I'd praise the team forever after burying them. I'd admit I was a nonbeliever. I'll shut up now rather than say I don't think we can win it, etc. It's always nice to win a game.
