  1. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) I'll give KC their props, it looked completely over, but at least they have a chance to luckily run into one in this last inning and keep it going. Its unlikely, but a chance. Sox gotta lot more on their plate with TB these next 4 games than worrying about detroit. How can you give props to a team that is getting swept by Detroit and would have won 3 of 4 from us???
  2. The Sox never seem to have a sense of urgency. It's like, oh well we didn't beat KC ... again. There's still 5 weeks left in the season; then 3 weeks left, then all those wasted opportunities haunt the Sox when they hit a severe skid. Sox aren't a playoff caliber team unfortunately. You can hear it in Hawk and Stoney's voice. Hawk said tonight that the games have been brutal of late. Both Hawk and Stoney like all of us fans have been put through misery watching this crap. If not for Dunn it'd be, what, seven losses in a row?
  3. It's only natural to care about attendance. It makes Sox fans feel good when the stadium is full. However, I've changed my stance a bit especially this year because of the economy. I can see why people don't want to go and pay the parking costs and costs of a hot dog and Coke or beer. It truly is ridiculous and I do not care about attendance for that reason. Parking, quite frankly, should be 5 dollars or free. It truly is criminal what they charge hard working southsiders for parking.
  4. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 06:17 AM) I know its going to sound smarmy and pissy, but I can't consider this a good year. Yeah, we did better than people, who don't know anything about baseball, gave us credit for. But choking away the division is excusable. Had Detroit won 100+ games like people said, and we ended up with 84, then yeah, go us, but we blew it. That isn't a good year to me. I understand what you are saying. Career years for Dunn, Rios and Paulie (the first half) and career power year from AJP. Some first half magic on the mound. This team flat out blew it in a year Detroit was begging to be buried. We either choked against KC or just didn't care to beat KC. Either way you slice it, like you said, the Sox blew it. This was NOT Detroit's year. Scary thing is next year might be Detroit's year.
  5. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:10 AM) As negative as I was pre-2012, I see no way the 2013 team will compete. Too many pieces of this team will be gone, health concerns for Danks, Jones, Reed, Sale and Quintana (thought I think Hahn/KW will trade him in the winter) and its an odd numbered year so Rios should go in the tank. I'm not gonna say 100 losses but easily a .500 team. .500? What is this year's team? By the end, it might be just 1-2-3 above .500. So you are saying next year is basically gonna be this year again? I personally don't like our rotation.
  6. Quin you are a good fan. I watched a ton of games this year and don't think "joy" is the right word. Not this year.
  7. July 24 to yesterday ... Sox had first place. Late September, it's vanished finally. First place. It was fun to know ya.
  8. We'd been in first place every day since July 24 ... til now. Yes, the word "choke" is going to be uttered. Or to be nice, "could not finish."
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 05:13 AM) So what pitcher do we get to see work 4 2/3 lousy innings next game? Ugh. I'd let him go six minimum no matter how many walks and how many runs he gives up. Sox have proven they can't win the other way. Let the starters take their lumps the rest of the way, Robin. Sink or swim. Needing to cover four innings with Sox bullpen isn't working nor will it work.
  10. So what pitcher do we get to see work 4 2/3 lousy innings next game?
  11. I'd definitely play Danks over Wise. Like fathom said, thanks to Dweezy for the spark he gave the team, but his mojo is gone. Pinch runner time for Wise.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 05:08 AM) There are 7 games left and we are 1 game down, guys. Lot of baseball left to be played. Four more horrific games to be played, then I'd suspect 3 good ones in Cleveland when it's way too late.
  13. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 05:03 AM) That was really cool what Lillibridge tried to do. He just rose 2 notches in my book. That was awesome! The way he flipped the ball and the look on his face, it was like: Here fellas, I'm gonna single handedly give you guys a chance to get your head out of your ass and play some playoff baseball. It was classic. Then the next pitch or two, pop up and Lilly couldn't drop it. It woulda been too obvious. Thanks Lilly! You are now one of my favorites of all time.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:59 AM) Time to just watch and hope. One thing is for sure. I'm not watching any more games from the point our starting pitcher leaves the game, if it's not at least with two outs in the seventh inning. Want to know a LOSING formula for the White Sox? Have our starter go four or five innings max. When that happens, you are guaranteed one thing as a viewer: MISERY!! Folks, with this beat-up, tired, suddenly worthless starting rotation (minus Sale) we have no business playing October baseball. None.
  15. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:55 AM) team is choking big time I don't think any of us can argue that.
  16. I still say those fans who attended are the stars of tonight. They had to watch 12 walks for godsakes. Give them some free tickets, Jerry!!!! Or some free parking vouchers.
  17. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:54 AM) What do you say guys.. go Orioles get Jimmy a ring? I think so. Sounds good to me. I'll back the O's.
  18. How many games are we over .500? It's the curse of .500 I tell ya. We're destined to get to that .500 mark again come hell or high water. GO SOX!
  19. Lilly tried to throw the game for us, but he couldn't drop that pop up as well. He probably would have got banned for life by the commish.
  20. That's the team that is beating us 2 of 3 games. Hilarious. Laugable Lillybridge.
  21. Well that was pathetic. Youk ... Youk ... Youk. Get the golf clubs out, White Sox. Just one more week and you guys can go have some fun.
  22. If I was Reinsdorf I'd go down and personally give all those fans still in the park free parking vouchers for future games. Stud fans!
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:42 AM) Aren't you the same person that wants the Sox to win every single game possible, regardless of possible draft pick? Yes. These are my predictions. Check the prediction thread before this series. So far I'm spot on. I WANT to win, we're just not going to win.
  24. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:39 AM) +1, we should have done this a week ago There's definitely no reason to play Dweezy any more. Danks for him.
  25. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:38 AM) If the Tigers clinch and these guys start to hit all of a sudden. Then burn it down. Because there is a mental problem with whats here. I'm pretty confident that is exactly what is going to happen. Sox will win that final series in Cleveland. Book it. But horrible baseball is gonna continue 4 more games.
