  1. You can look at it one of two ways. Had we not had so many excruciating losses vs. KC, etc., we'd have probably blown an 8-game lead in one of the biggest choke jobs of all time. This time we just blew a 3-game lead.
  2. I'll stick with my prediction: 1-2 vs Cleveland, 1-3 vs. Tampa, then 2-1 vs. Cleveland when it doesn't matter a tad. Though once again it's hard for me to envision a victory of any kind right now.
  3. QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:23 AM) Two more innings in our season? Yes. This is it. We are walking zombies a month before Halloween.
  4. Congratulations, White Sox. You have turned into one, pathetic baseball team. Are we even gonna be over .500 at the end of the season? 1-2 games over?
  5. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:17 AM) I'm definitely never going to be fooled by a good first half ever again. All that matters is how you play in September... and I thought we were good when we swept the Rangers and Angels...lol...what a fool I was It's not all that matters. You can be out of it in late May like the Cubs and Royals. Nobody wants to hear it, but we are still also-rans in head-to-head matchups in our own division. This year we did own the Twins somehow.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:16 AM) Last I checked there are 9M or so people in Chicago and the surrounding burbs combined. We can't even break 25K in a pennant race. I just don't think anybody is willing to pay to watch these zombies. On TV, yes, but not pay that kind of money to watch this horrible baseball. Well at least after tonight, barring a comeback win in the ninth, the pundits will agree we're dead and buried.
  7. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:13 AM) Thank goodness you arent the GM Greg. The prospect of tearing down a baseball team after a pretty good season is completely asinine. That is a complete overreaction to the highest order. People in management dont operate like that. Yes, but I'm starting to think the team of September is our real team. And that is an unwatchable baseball squad that has to be torched.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:12 AM) If attendance is the measure, sure, they're bad. I just think there is far more to it because I think our fans are smart, friendly, loyal, and I'm proud to call myself a CWS fan Rios goes the other way for a single. He's our only hitter who'll go that way successfully of late.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:09 AM) Who can they really get rid of to send a message? They have to blow it up because you'd have to pay our fans to watch this crap next season rather than make them pay 40 bucks for parking, etc. This is really really bad baseball. Nobody with a brain will go watch this. They'll do anything to not have to go to the Cell to watch baseball in which starting pitchers not named Sale can't pitch 5 innings. Hawk sounds resigned to the fact we stink.
  10. I wonder if that little kid who cried about Lillibridge leaving the Sox is watching.
  11. The fans have made it easier for a total rebuild. Fans didn't show up at all this season. So it'll be very easy to tear it apart. There won't be any fan rebellion. Nobody was going to buy season tickets for this returning team, anyway.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:01 AM) Rick Hahn...tear down this team. He will. Hawk and Stoney doing a great job right now, discussing things no other broadcasters would out of fear for their jobs. "Painful to Watch" says Hawk. That indeed is the story of our stretch run.
  13. We're losing again. What a joke. Has Cleveland won 15 games out of its last 40 or so yet?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:49 AM) No 10 walks is a disgrace to funerals everywhere.
  15. Don't these home games and home broadcasts have a funeral-like feel to them?
  16. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:34 AM) I'm thinking his windup shows the hitters a pretty good view of his grip. The guy is never gonna throw strikes considtently with this windup and arm motion. IMO.
  17. Here comes the meatball blast off the wall. Or a walk.
  18. Get his ass out of there. Nine walks won't cut it, White Sox.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:26 AM) Calm down already Give me a bat. I wanna bat.
  20. This game may be a laugher by the end of this half inning. We just suck. We truly suck.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:20 AM) My man Veal, not good All our surprise pitchers have come down to earth: Q, Santiago, Veal to name three.
  22. Oh boy. We stink right now. Will Cleveland play for the huge inning and bust this baby open, or bunt here?
  23. We coulda used another hit there from Wise. Is he cooling off and become the human Wise again? Do not flame me, cause I love Wise as many realize, but do you think we should have signed Pods like Boston did??
